Worth a stop if you are in southern WI, or you need an excuse for a $100 hamburger flight. If you forget to get your WI GA passport stamp (like i did), it's a nice reason to return for another visit. Really fun model airplanes on the ceiling and great decor over the bar. https://www.bessiesdiner.com https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/travel/air/pilot-info/flywi.aspx

Very nice, very clean, easy access from the parking lot or aircraft ramp. We dropped in for breakfast (for my wife) and lunch (for me). My wife ordered the Florentine Benny, with an order of Turkey Link sausage. I went with their proverbial $100 Hamburger with french fries. We also ordered their donuts which came with a cream cheese sauce for an appetizer. The burger was cooked as requested, and tasted great. The concept of the "$100 hamburger" is by the time you factor in gas, that's what one would cost. It's actually probably higher unless you have a short flight right now. The Florentine Benny (eggs Benedict) was enjoyed by my wife, who loves her egg dishes. Service was effective - it kept the water glasses filled, and even the soft drink and coffee cup filled. The bathrooms are shared with the FBO and were clean. This is a really great place to go for breakfast or lunch.

The main sign on the pole has definitely seen better days, and the place as a whole feels a bit run down. As you walk in, be careful of the trip hazard at the entrance--it's a bit uneven. It's a little "divey," but don't let that be a dealbreaker. It's just an observation, a reminder not to judge a book by its cover. Note to management: Some minor fixes could give it a little more curb appeal. Stepping inside, you'll see the main dining room and an old buffet area that I assume hasn't been used since COVID. It's all a bit dated, but clean and functional. They serve breakfast all day and have a full lunch and dinner menu as well. Even though it was a relatively busy Sunday morning, we were greeted and seated quickly and didn't have to wait long for our initial service. Almost before I could take a sip of my no-frills, bottomless cup of $3 coffee, our giant portions of breakfast arrived. It was an omelette kind of day for us. We placed a special order for my dad (he's got his usual), I got the Denver Omelette ($14) with jalapeños, and my stepmom ordered the Meat Eaters Omelette ($15). They opted for toast, and I got the pancakes, which were a meal in themselves. While the prices have increased significantly since my first visit, the large portions are big enough to share or take half home, which is exactly what we did. We were a little ignored and never asked if everything was as expected. We did, however, get coffee refills and eventually received the bill and some to-go boxes. Another note to management: The bell that incessantly rings every time someone comes or goes needs to go! By the time we left, I was anxious and extremely tired of the bell. I feel sorry for the employees who have to listen to that all day long! Overall, this place does a good and honest business. Aside from the bell and the slight dip in attention, we enjoyed our meal.

As much as I hate giving a 1 star review, we most certainly had a 1 star dining experience…read more The fact that the place was very slow on a Friday night during prime hours should have been our queue to try something else but my wife was dead set on going here. To start, we noticed how slow their service was and how their staff's urgency was almost non existent. Our bartender was very quirky but also very nice. We ordered nachos to share and each got 1 overpriced taco each. we both also tried mixed cocktails. Mine smelled and tasted like bandaids... idk why i knew what those taste like or maybe my imagination led me to that. My wife got the margarita flight ($20) for 3 tiny pre mixed margaritas. Both of us did not like our drinks. The food was fine, the nachos lacked depth but were edible. The tacos were not good at all, hers (fish) had very little fish and the taco was very small and didn't taste like much. My Brussel sprout taco was also very small and VERY salty. Neither of us finished our tacos. The one thing i did really enjoy was their salsa that I had to ask for with the nachos, that I was also charged for. Ultimately we spent $70-$80 on a tiny meal we didn't like at all. I have no intention to return and would suggest you explore the amazing options around beloit before landing here.
