This is a call for Film and Television Location Scouts. The Coffee Cup Cafe would be a perfect location for a film or television restaurant setting. If you want a "Real Midwestern Feel" this is your place. The interior is interesting, but the exterior of the building and the street, it is located on, is just breathtaking. Peeling paint, original brickwork, original signage and awnings, this location has everything and it is very close to Lake Geneva. We ate here over Memorial Day weekend, because our bed and breakfast was in Sharon, Wisconsin. Instead of driving to a larger town, we decided to have breakfast in Sharon, and The Coffee Cup Cafe was the only cafe in Sharon. We are so glad we stopped here!; the food was normal diner food but the atmosphere of this place was out of this world. Think of the scene in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure where he walks into the diner and says, "Large Marge sent me." Thats this place! The wait staff was friendly, conversation was great, just an all-around great experience. Additionally, a series of bike paths converge on the square outside of the cafe. The cafe has copies of maps for cyclists.

Food is good but pricey for a small town cafe. Similar breakfast at Countryside was $10 less!

Very nice, very clean, easy access from the parking lot or aircraft ramp. We dropped in for breakfast (for my wife) and lunch (for me). My wife ordered the Florentine Benny, with an order of Turkey Link sausage. I went with their proverbial $100 Hamburger with french fries. We also ordered their donuts which came with a cream cheese sauce for an appetizer. The burger was cooked as requested, and tasted great. The concept of the "$100 hamburger" is by the time you factor in gas, that's what one would cost. It's actually probably higher unless you have a short flight right now. The Florentine Benny (eggs Benedict) was enjoyed by my wife, who loves her egg dishes. Service was effective - it kept the water glasses filled, and even the soft drink and coffee cup filled. The bathrooms are shared with the FBO and were clean. This is a really great place to go for breakfast or lunch.

I ordered the half garbage plate with sausage and bacon. Pro tip: ask the difference between the half and the whole before you commit. The half comes with three eggs. The whole comes with five. Five. I chose wisely. Oh and don't forget the homemade bread smothered in butter! It's clearly a neighborhood staple. People were greeting each other by name, swapping stories across tables, and operating like they've been meeting there every Saturday since 1974. Thankfully, they extend that same friendliness to random out-of-towners who just wandered in hungry. The vibe is energetic and communal, the kind of place where conversations overlap and nobody seems to mind. It has a modern, eclectic feel, but there's also a subtle time-machine quality to it. Like you stepped into the 1960s, just with better coffee and fewer ashtrays. Perfect blend of nostalgic and now.

If you're a snobby person or someone with tons of food allergies don't come here. They are irrelevant in a very good way. I would stick to the basics here. My friend got the cheeseburger with fries and it was perfect. They have fresh meat, no frozen patties. I got the half order of biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs and it was perfect diner style food. The portions are huge so a half order was way more than enough. My friend had the roast beef omelette and I wouldn't recommend it because the beef was in chunks and was full of gristle. However, everything else was terrific. I didn't have the garbage plate because the portion was huge but it's on my list for next time. Maybe I'll split it with someone because you need to come hungry. Prices are very reasonable but it's cash only.

Our orders were simple, nothing out of the ordinary, so it's baffling that it took so long. The restaurant was small, with three servers on duty, so there's no excuse for the lack of service or the wait. The ambiance was the one bright spot - it felt like a classic old-school diner. But the food was a major letdown. I ordered a $14 plate and expected a decent portion size, but what I got was laughable. It was like something I'd whip up at home or grab from McDonald's. And the 'gourmet' touch? Sandwich cheese on top of the omelet. My partner's country fried steak was overcooked and burnt to a crisp. Given the wait, you'd think they'd at least try to get the food right. It's especially egregious considering we're talking about Lake Geneva, where people pay for parking and expect a certain level of service. We spent 1.5 hours at the restaurant, and most of that time was wasted waiting for subpar food. Needless to say, we won't be back. Photos of the food are included to give you an idea of the portion size (or lack thereof). Don't say I didn't warn you.

The woman running the restaurant it seemed was so rude to people looking to eat here. She would constantly belittle people for wanting to eat there. They turned away large parties (I get it, it was busy and it's a small place) but you just felt so unwelcome waiting. Once we did get our table we ordered and it took forever for the food to come out. It was clear this place isn't staffed for the large crowd Lake Geneva brings in. We even heard the woman who was running the place make a joke about going across to simple if they didn't want to wait. The food was also mediocre. It was fine, but you don't get a lot for it being 12.99 for almost every dish. Service was slow. You can tell they are understaffed. The ambiance is cool. I liked that part.
