**Best SNUBA Experience Yet!** We SNUBA quite a bit, and Shoreline SNUBA Maui was hands down our best experience to date! From start to finish, everything was seamless. Booking was super easy, and the communication before the dive was excellent--clear, timely, and helpful. Brian, our guide, was incredible. My husband is a certified scuba diver, while I'm more of a novice when it comes to SNUBA, but Brian managed to tailor the experience so we both felt comfortable and had an amazing time. My family and I had an amazing experience! My husband and I did Snuba once before but our kids never had. They are 10, 11 and 13 and had the most amazing time. The instructors were incredibly funny, thorough and fun to have guide us. They led us to lots of coral reef life and a huge turtle. This was the highlight of our trip and I highly recommend. I believe they said kids 6 and up can do this. You can go down as far as you want, which is about 20 feet, or stay closer to the top. It's perfect for everyone! We researched many different snuba options before landing on Shoreline Snuba and we are SO happy we were led to this one! We loved it for so many reasons but here are a top few: We have three kids 8, 14 and 17 and they had never been in the ocean before and had different reservations but within two seconds of meeting Brian and Drew their fears melted away and they were really excited to dive into this incredible experience. From booking online to meeting them at the beach shoreline Snuba made everything so simple and easy. We loved that the price was reasonable and that it included everything from wet suit, equipment, and flippers to magical underwater pictures that they air drip you right after you finish. We also loved that you didn't need to get up super early and be on a boat for most of the day instead they take 15 minutes to explain how everything works and help you get your simple equipment and then you walk directly into the ocean as they guide you right into your special diving experience within minutes. Brian and Drew were so charming, funny, experienced and encouraging which made the whole experience a total delight. Right after we were done our kids who all were not totally sure about doing this said "can we go again tomorrow, that was AMAZING!" Our kids adored Brian and Drew and we all agreed that we could not imagine going anywhere else for Snuba outside of Shoreline because it was THAT good:) it was the total highlight of our trip and the memories will last our family a life too one. As an advanced open water diver the concept of Snuba seemed like something I would hate, never less the other half isn't a diver and has never had any sort of experience with breathing underwater so Snuba was the only choice. One of the best experiences we've ever had!!! Drew, our guide, was best in class. He was so informative, kind, and provided an incredible time. My husband and I checked in way too early (we were excited!!) and Drew was there to greet us with a smile. He took time to educate us on snuba and ensure we felt comfortable prior to walking down to the water. Once in the water he checked on us multiple times and led us through the beautiful coral garden. Drew pointed out amazing marine life and took photos of us while snubaing. We will cherish these photos forever. Summary: Very similar to PADI dive, but with much less gear, a 20 foot limit, and no pre-training required. Tim is a great guide. Find him BEHIND the activity shack at the far end of Sheraton beach, closest to the Black Rock cliffs where people jump off into the water. You'll have a blast. TIM! Timmmaaay. Tim was our guide for the day and he couldn't have done anything more to make sure my wife was completely at ease for her first dive ever. He went over basic safety information in a thorough, but simple manner. He explained that he would be guiding us throughout, taking lots of pictures, pointing out fun things to see, and removed all nerves and concern that we had prior to the activity. After we were all suited up and our belongings locked away, we made our way out to the Black Rock beach in front of the Sheraton and attached our masks to the hoses coming out of the raft with the air tanks. We waded into the water, put on our fins and masks, then Tim dragged us and the raft out a little deeper while my wife and I just hung on to the raft. Once at a good distance, we sank down just enough to have our knees on the ground while ensuring that our ears pressurized properly. After that was confirmed, we went deeper and just followed Tim throughout some coral beds where we saw an eel peeking out from some rocks, a shark hiding away in a small crevice, a sea turtle hanging out, and a bunch of fish swimming about. When all was said and done, my wife and I were under water for 35 minutes and saw some amazing stuff. We purchased a DVD with all of the 200+ photos that Tim took while we were diving, and my wife had an absolute blast. She is even considering PADI diving now :-) read more

Our day was perfect, and this was the highlight of our trip! Our guide was Drew. He is amazing! This wonderful Snuba experience went beyond our expectations! I was a little bit skeptical at first but that feeling changed quickly! We actually heard from Brian a couple of different times before driving to our destination! He stated that the original location would not be so much fun due to low visibility! He had driven there prior to our arrival to check it out and he highly suggested us trying a different location so we could experience an optimal dive! The drive was not out of our way so we were willing to give it a try and I'm so glad we did! When we arrived and met up with Brian, he educated us thoroughly and did an awesome job with explaining how snuba works along with how the equipment works! My family of three were the only ones in our group which was awesome because of the personal attention. Now, I have snorkeled numerous times in my life but I still, at 58 years old, have a difficult time with the thought process of breathing under the water! It does not come easy for me! Thankfully we had the perfect guide! Brian worked with all of us but he gave me a little added attention and about halfway through our 45 minute dive, I was truly enjoying this incredible experience! With Brian's teachings along with his patience, I felt at ease, & by incorporating his suggestions I was able to have a fantabulous time with my husband and stepdaughter! My son and I went to snorkeling earlier during the week near Molokini crater and it was a nightmare. I told myself there should be a better way to do this. I Googled and found "Shoreline snuba". I called Drew and asked if he could help us after having a bad experience. He said it's a private guided tour. I booked my appointment and I made the right choice. Today we had an amazing experience. I would like to thank Brain for making it happen. Little about me... I am a non swimmer and my son can swim inside a swimming pool comfortably. Never I have swam before underwater in my lifetime. I was so scared even the night before. Brain took us to the best spot for us. He went over the basics of snuba. I just did what he said "the ocean will make you float, trust that I will be around always, you just have to blow bubbles and relax". THE best experience in my lifetime. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the Snuba. We saw 3 turtles, lot of corals and fishes. I would give Brain 100 stars. If you are like me don't get thrown off the boat and have a terrible experience. First time in Maui for my 50th birthday (yep 50th). I want to start another decade with a bang! What more than start on a few things that are on my list. I took the family out to Maui. None of us except my wife had been there before. Top on the list of course was to share an unforgettable experience with the family. Years ago I wanted to be SCUBA certified and dive in Hawai'i.However I never got the chance. My family aren't great swimmers so the closest I can do to share this experience with them was to try SNUBA. I didn't know how it's going to be like for the rest of them so I researched as much as I could to learn more about it. At first I was hesitant since everything I've read about this activity in Maui was leading me to Molokini which I knew wasn't going to work out as a family. Then I found Shoreline snuba! From the first call here in SoCal, Drew was great! He was very open and thorough about their mobile snuba and how the experience would be like. He was in touch with me the whole time. Drew wanted to make sure we'll have the best experience! He was on top of things from making sure we have the right gears on the day of the dive to checking out the dive site conditions ensuring that we would be comfortable! It was a windy afternoon dive and Drew made sure I am ok with the conditions beforehand. We met Drew and Preston at the dive site. .They were very professional yet laid back. They made everyone feel comfortable. They were detailed in explaining everything to us and showing us how the gears work and how's it going to be like based on the current conditions. The water was choppy by the time we started to dive and made everyone more nervous. It was a bit tough to get going but Drew and Preston made us feel secure. They were patient and very attentive. But as soon as we settled in our first dive everyone felt more confident and we just kept going and it was a blast! We were all over the place under water. I was mostly with my my daughter who's doesn't swim and had a great time together. It was an experience that I will hold on forever! Drew was guiding and directing us around the reef taking us to beautiful spots which all of us seen the first time in real life! Preston was there whenever we needed to surface and provided assistance with our gears if needed. At the end of the dive everyone was happy and it was great to see that on that special day for us as a family. All because of the guys from Shoreline snuba who made this an amazing experience. I know for sure who to call the next time we do this in again in Maui. And I know for sure that because of this experience that will have better dives when we snuba elsewhere because of our experience with them. We are on our first Maui trip as a family. We stayed at the Sheraton and while at the pool two very polite and professional young men were showing people how to Snuba in the pool to see if they wanted to try it. They were so nice and gracious we did end up signing our son (17) up for Snuba. He was a little apprehensive at first but they do an excellent job of explaining it and it was clear that safety is very important to this company. My son ended up going with guides Nick and Bryan. They were so professional and extremely nice. We got some great pictures of our son and he had a blast and will definitely go again. I would do this again in a minute. We went on a Body Glove morning snorkeling trip out of Kona, and there was a Shoreline Snuba instructor on board. At first we weren't sure if we wanted to pay the extra money required to upgrade to the snuba option, but we ended up going for it. I'm so glad we did. At first, we wanted to go on a full scuba dive, but were too late and the class was full. We opted to do the snuba dive instead, and it worked out really well. The instructor (I wish I remembered his name, but we met so many people during our trip -- he was probably 6'4" and had red hair and a beard, so pretty recognizable) was awesome. He was funny and kept us laughing, but clearly knew his stuff. He walked us through the quick intros, got to know us a little, and then set us up with our gear. After he gave us a quick rundown of all that, he sent us off to put our personal items down elsewhere on the boat. While we did that, the scuba instructor tried to steal us back -- he said some spots had opened up, if we wanted to join him instead. We opted to stick with snuba because the instructor was a great guy and it sounded like fun, and we turned him down. Once in the water, it took us a while to get used to the breathing part. We'd never been snorkeling or diving before (we're from the Midwest), so it was all rather strange. We adjusted, though -- and being tethered to the floating tanks definitely made snubaing the better choice for us. Very reassuring! We got comfortable and dove straight down, where the instructor led us through the reef and pointed out some cool marine life. He even picked up a sea urchin and handed it to us, so that was cool. It was a great time and WELL worth the price of the upgrade. So much better than snorkeling, much less hassle than scubaing, and a great experience we won't forget! read more

Me and my friends were hesitant to try snuba but after participating I would 100% recommend it! It was so amazing to be able to get closer to the reefs see everything up close. As someone who's never scuba dived before, I was nervous I couldn't get the hang of it, but after a few minutes in the water it felt so natural. This is a good intermediate step between snorkeling and scuba diving and a great way to explore deeper into the reefs and see more fish you wouldn't from just snorkeling. read more

Spent an entire week in Maui, day 5 we tried snuba. We live in New Mexico, so it's a little hard to swim in an ocean being desert locked. However Brian was our guide, man he was great. Before we started he discussed what to expect, how we were going to take our time and do things at our own pace. We sat down and explained the ins and out's of snuba. (Snuba is a hybrid of snorkeling and scuba diving) Finally we were feeling confident and ready to enjoy snuba. Brian was very observant asking us questions and checking up on all 3 of us. Once we were in the water, and once I can calm myself down with the breathing through my mouth instead of my nose. It was so much fun. We were underwater for 30 minutes. Damn, felt like 15 minute.
