Bathroom hasn't been cleaned, supplied, or trash emptied since April 17, 2026. But they continue to charge for it!

Real life picture of the approach into Shoreline RV Park
Cheri N.

If you must venture into Eureka and need to park your RV for the night, the Shoreline RV Park is a safe bet. From what I saw of Eureka, there is a huge drug problem and homelessness problem in this city. We noticed quite a few transient people in the upper portions of Northern California but Eureka seems to be a depressing epicenter of down-on-their luck wanderers and free-spirits. Unfortunately we were super tired when we arrived in Eureka after driving all day. We were making our way down the coast and needed to stop for the night. Fortunately, Shoreline was nearby and it had space available so we drove on in. Based on what I saw outside of this park, I was not happy but after we registered and settled in, I realized that the park is secure. I also looked around and noticed that there were quite a few newer class A motor homes and other expensive RVs so that eased my fears that this place would become a problem at night. Sure enough, we had a peaceful, quiet night. We left first thing in the am but not before we stopped for coffee at the gas station right outside the park. Thankfully all you need is close-by and if you wanted to go shopping for any essentials there is a Target across the highway. Laundry facilities on site.

Look at all the potholes!!

DANGER- this site is scattered with drug needles, human poop, and apparently a security guard (not sure if he was really security) but he took photos of our children. We tried to go on a walk and there were homeless people camping within a few feet of our campsite in both directions. It was by far the worst experience we have ever had in all of our RV excursions. People were camped out smoking pot right behind a fence next to the laundry facility. We stayed for a total of 45 minutes to an hour and in that time a homeless person broke down on his bike directly next to our family and then cussed and left his bike in the middle of the street. I was actually afraid to get back out of the RV to move it. There were so many enormous pot holes entering the site that it broke a few things inside the RV. The sites weee so close together if we were eating outside at the picnic table we would have been 2 ft from the waste from the next site. It was just awful. I sent management a message asking for a refund because we did not feel safe staying and they refused. They said they are not able to control needless on the path. 30 minutes down the road was a lovely place surrounded by beautiful trees, a playground, arcade and amazing setting. Go anywhere but here.

Nap in the sunshine

Loved it! Stayed four nights for Mothers Day/anniversary getaway. It's was clean and quiet on the edge of Eureka Slough so lots of birds. Right on walking/biking paths linked to entire Humboldt Bay basin. So yes there is some foot traffic. So convenient and central to playing on the coast. Our new favorite.

Grease mess in spots. RVs with junk all around and right next to busy freeway

I thought for sure I did my review here, but I guess I didn't and I've got some good pictures too,…read moreso I will post those. I was here in June for a family reunion to see relatives, I had not seen in 50 years. It's even possible one of them had worked here as a maid in the 70s or 80s so that was really interesting. It was her old stomping ground. She lived here the rest of the family live nearby. This is a throwback to the 1970s which is why it's so charming and I think that's why so many people would love it. I didn't get to walk the grounds until the last day but there is actually an old-fashioned 70s style arcade with pinball machine machines it's just exactly like how it was when we were kids in the 70s and went camping with our parents. That's the type of stuff you would find. There's an old gathering hall in the back with wood floors that hasn't been used probably forever, which is gorgeous, there's a little Arboretum in the middle of the square that they light up every night with little violet lights. It's beautiful and you can tell that was an old area where there's a fountain that's no longer working. All charming and quaint. There's a little fire pit you can walk to in the back that looks like the type of fire pit we had at camp in 1975. It just has that old vibe that everyone loves and is disappearing everywhere so I pray they never change anything, but I don't think they will. The cabins are the same they're old-fashioned and beautiful however, inside they have been somewhat modernized because that's the world we live in people would be upset if things were original I wouldn't but a lot of people would. I found it to be gorgeous and quiet. The only complaint I had and they did give me back some money for that and I really do appreciate that is that my little mini fridge was rocking and making a lot of noise all night and that did keep me from sleeping, that was rough. I'm a light sleeper and I found the rooms to be cold because it's regulated heat and I didn't know I could go up and ask for a space heater or bring one so I didn't now I know. To answer the question would I come back again?? 100% I loved it there and of course the kitchenette was filled with everything you need, I didn't take a shower there which sounds bad because I was freezing, but the showers were clean. The bathrooms were nice. The room was small, but really good for the price. I do plan to come back next May and hopefully I'm on great terms with them. I think my little complaints or issues were reasonable and fair or they wouldn't have refunded but I'm glad that they did and I'm glad I brought it up so the next person doesn't go through those issues and I'm glad that I'm letting people know if you do get cold there. You can ask for a space heater or bring your own but just make sure you let them know. Let them know you brought it because space heaters are fire hazards and you don't want to cause trouble in a beautiful area like this Also, they did have an incredible campground which I left out so there was an area for RVs and then in the back there were actual pads where people had tents and camping gear and all I thought was wow I wish I could do that next time maybe my cousin will do that with me for a day or two and I can have the cabin as well oh, and I did forget to mention that some of the cabins had fireplaces which I think I will try to get next Time. This is the ONLY place to stay!! Also not far from the only gas station and the only market, which are both great!

We had a family wedding here and it was honestly the perfect venue. Our whole family got to be…read moretogether in our cabins, plenty of space and beautiful scenery. The paths around to walk on was great to explore. Firepits, the gazebo's, games, video arcade, I mean whatever you wanted, they had, it is a hidden gem and not far from restaurants the beach, a casino, I mean prime location. We will be back!

Eventually from Crescent City, CA we will head to Grants Pass, OR and down to our last stop - Ashland, OR. Yesterday, we decide to take the breathtaking Avenue of the Giants drive with plenty to see and hundreds of photo ops. Doing the tourist thing, we stopped at the Visitors Center. This was a very interesting stop. The small museum focused on the fauna, flora and history of the area's early indigenous people and the White settlers. The museum being small as it is, has a lot of information and artifacts of yester years centered around the star of the show, the Giant Redwood Forest. The visitor's center, the trails, the museum are all amazing American treasures. This was my first time here and oh I was so impressed. I should have made this trip decades ago. We made the time to go on a short hike, very exhilarating. Put this trip on your bucket list and do not pass this one up. Drive safely as parts of this drive is windy, hilly, mountainous, and sometimes with the sun and canopy provided by the trees can make driving difficult.

This is a group of parks, one Federal and the rest State run parks protecting and preserving the Redwoods while allowing safe access to the public. We opted for a few days in Trinidad to visit the National Park and Prairie Creek and another stay up in Crescent City for Jedediah State Park. Each park has it's own personality and feel. There are many trails, pullouts and amazing sights to see. We particularly enjoyed Lady Bird Johnson Grove. A pro-tip for far fewer crowds on very popular hikes is to go very early. The earlier the better. One popular trail, we were leaving at around 9 am and encountered tons of people pouring in, with their face time conversations and loud music blaring. Please don't be these people. Regardless, the early bird gets the worm in the parks, and encounters fewer people pests.

The long term/ permanent RV's in the back of the site were creepy broken windows and looked abandoned, along with the broken down Xterra by the bathrooms. 3. Cob webs all over inside the Cabin. We also witnessed a Mercedes camper van come in really late parked woke up really super early and left probably without paying.. lol probably avoidable if the office was occupied.. 8.
