A night of '80s yacht rock at Shoreline with Toto, Christopher Cross and The Romantics with friends. We had not been to this venue in years, so it was time to trade our acoustic memories on the grass picnicking and listening to Neil Young, Bowie and Pearl Jam, for some nice comfy seats near the stage. Food was mostly fried (Rebel Hen, pizza and donuts. Time to really improve food options at this venue.) The drink options were good, and the music was nostalgic, when we could hear it. The sound completely dropped out at least a half a dozen times at key points in the concert, which I've never experienced at a venue of this size. The crowd booed and was frustrated and all these talented professional musicians who have likely performed in tough spots before, managed their way through it. Went here a couple days ago to see Evanescence, the drop-off and pick-up situation was a NIGHTMARE. Someone told us to keep driving straight (to get to drop-off) so we did, and it took us to some golf place. Pick-up was ridiculous, they are so unorganized. My friend and I had to walk a good distance away from the venue to get picked up. However, the merch line wasn't too long, so we got our merch and to our seats pretty fast after getting in the venue. The show was great, I've loved Evanescence since I was in middle school, so it was pretty surreal for me. Spiritbox & Nova Twins were amazing, I would love to see them again actually. read more

Came here for the Hilary Duff "Lucky Me" tour. This is NOT an ADA compliant amphitheater. Getting around the food/drink areas in a wheelchair is not possible.Nothing is even, there is inconsistent bumps, cracks and even the bridges are not stable. The bathrooms were not ADA complaint as well. ONE bathroom was available and it it did not fit my friends wheelchair (standard size) The food options were expensive and the employees at the bars were super rude. I asked for some napkins and they just rolled their eyes at me and said no, they aren't available for non paying customers, even though I had paid for a drink. Although I had premier parking, the staff seemed confused on when the lots were going to open. Messy!!! Won't go back. read more

I will never attend another concert at this venue again. Especially something that's all ages. We were not carded when purchasing alcohol, which would explain all of the drunk underage drinking. Security was extremely lax! I saw so many vapes and small shooters of liquor in there. It's no wonder so many people were being carried around by their friends. General parking lot was bumpy dirt and straw covered..uphill. I wasn't expecting that, so I had to walk down the trail and cross the road to line up outside of the venue. There wasn't anyone informing us as to which line was General Admission vs. VIP. People began walking past us all, and someone said that General is to the Left, VIP to the Right..but why don't they use line ropes and signs? Also, I found my front section 101 seat very uncomfortable, because it is plastic! I was glad that I brought my Loop earplugs, because the speakers were 9 rows in front of me! P.S.- John Mellencamp and his awesome band put on a truly special performance for their wrap-up of the Dancing Words tour! I'm giving 2 stars for this venue. read more

I recently went to see Above and Beyond. There was no thorough security check, no pat down, but there is a separate line if you bring in a bag. It was a great crowd. It had a theme park vibe. Our friends rented 2 chairs for the lawn which was such a great idea. They also had Mexican blankets for rent. The lawn does have a slope to it. Bring your cleats. Jk. Lots of food options and small lines. You can get a bucket of cookies for $25. Bring your reusable water bottle. They had a few filtered water stations in addition to their water fountains. Drinks are pricey. For a cup of ice they charge $15. Parking is free. read more

I will not be returning to Shoreline again. Went to see Doobie Brothers and Santana. We exited the freeway at about 5:15 PM (Show was at 7 PM) I paid for Premium Parking to guarantee parking. Got to our parking spot about an hour later due to traffic jam all around the venue. We then had to get in a unmonitored line where so many people were crowding in front of us, making the line longer, adding even more frustration to our experience. We got to our seats on the lawn right at 7 PM when the show started. After 2 cans of wine and listening to the Doobie Brothers for about 30 min I was able to relax and enjoy the music. The music was incredible but the venue has much to be desired. We left Santana a little early to avoid the traffic nightmare of leaving later. read more

The venue itself and the amenities inside are great. The handicap parking situation is pathetic. One is already self conscious of the situation, and then to be made to wait for minimal shuttles (golf carts that hold max 5 people) in a line of 40+ people, makes one feel more of a burden than they already do. We were an hour late for the show due to the parking and security lines for handicap access. That is not right, and needs to be changed. Had we not been made to wait 40+ min for the shuttle, then an extra 30min in handicap security, we would have been fine. We left 3hrs prior to showtime, and had we parked like we did in prior years, would have been in our seats for the whole show (there was no opening act). They need to change the accessible parking situation. read more

It's quite a drive for me to get here, but the events are always worth it. For event days, they direct traffic so I recommend getting there an hour before the doors open to get the best parking. Parking is included and is well organized. Even leaving is well organized. I've been to other theaters where it's a mess. It is a short walk from the parking to the venue. Another reason to get there early is to get a bite to eat before the show. I had their meat loaded nachos and they were really good. They didn't skimp on the toppings either. I've been to events in the seats and others on the lawn. I personally enjoy the lawn because you can sit as you wish, stand up and dance around. Great venue!! Great seats. Great place for a concert. We parked at the handicap parking area. Very convenient. They just need to be more organized on shuttle transportation from parking to venue. After the concert people with no disabilities were getting on and taking space from people who really needed a ride. They thought they were being taken to other parking areas. read more

favorite arena in the Bay Area! I've been to most of the concert arenas from Sam Francisco to Concord and Shoreline Amphitheater will always be my favorite: the security check and check in quite easy, there are at least 2 areas with bathrooms one can use, it's easy to refill a waterbottle, the lawn is quite big and there are many large TVs to enjoy whatever is on the stage without paying a lot for the closer seats. Yes, parking is hard so that's why one can lyft and walk a bit from the arena to be picked up, any concert arena will be having troubles with parking and slow moving after an event, be that this or any other arena in the area. And I've seen some amazing shows when I've showed out the money for the first 10 rows If you do get tickets, which you need to if you want to see anything, get them in the first front half of the theater. The lawn is so huge. You can barely see some of the screens forget about seeing this stage. Prepare for many lines and expensive food and drink. Finally it takes forever to get in and out of the place. To combat that they charge as much as a concert ticket to park in a place where you can get out quickly. The venue does not allow guests to bring their own lawn chairs, but they only have a very limited number of chairs available for rent. If you're going to prohibit outside chairs, you should have enough rental chairs to accommodate guests. Otherwise, many people end up sitting on the ground with no alternative. Another issue was the lack of enforcement of the no-vaping policy. The venue clearly states that vaping is prohibited, yet throughout the concert there were numerous people vaping around us, and staff did nothing to stop it. It was unpleasant to be surrounded by vapor during the show, especially when the venue advertises a no-vaping policy. Policies should be enforced consistently. If you're going to prohibit something, enforce it. If you're going to require guests to rent chairs instead of bringing their own, make sure there are enough chairs available. read more

Have accurate information on your website. Your site says you have lawn chairs to rent. You have to first purchase your seats and then get the chairs as an extra. When we did that THEY WERE ALREADY SOLD OUT!!!!!!!!! We immediately called livenation/ticketmaster number from Your site and we were told we couldn't be refunded. This is a bait and switch. We wouldn't have purchased lawn seats without having available setbacks to rent. You don't let patrons bring in their own. Went to the fireworks yesterday and the drink stand over charged us by 50%! We had 2 beers and was charged 3! SCAM!

The customer service employees out front should be ashamed of themselves. First, they tried to say my ticket was fake which was not true. Then they inform me there is no way to get in without downloading the Ticketmaster app, even though I had my digital ticket on my phone. A male manager with long hair, glasses and a bad attitude was an absolute nightmare to deal with. He needs customer service training. I witnessed them telling a 80 something year old couple their four tickets were also fake, which also turned out to be false. Basically it was a night where everyone was told their tickets were fake and after 30 minutes of doing god knows what on the computer, tickets were fine. Truly an iconic Bay Area concert venue. If you grew up in the South Bay or Peninsula and didn't come here in high school, what were you doing?! That being said, most of my Shoreline experiences were in high school, and this place holds a special place in my heart because of that, but I have come to a few concerts in my adult life, and it is a really cool venue. The lawn tickets are usually pretty reasonably priced, and although you might not have the best view of the stage, you can bring a blanket and set up camp to really enjoy this outdoor venue. I love that you can bring your own food in. Don't actually think I've ever done it, but still great that they allow it. They also have some food trucks and the typical venue food available. There's plenty of bars and stands to get drinks throughout the venue, including the sky bar at the top of the lawn, so you don't need to miss any of the show while getting a refill. While options are expensive and maybe not the best of the best, they do have a good variety and prices are consistent with other venues/stadiums. If you do really want to see someone and not just hear them, and avoid the possibility of people trampling in your area, the seats are definitely the right choice for you. I've only actually sat in seats once, but it was a good experience and I'd for sure do it again for someone I really cared to see, if the price was right. There's lots of parking, most of which is free unless you pay to park right at the venue. Traffic trying to get in and leave is tough, so come and leave early if you want to beat it, or take a rideshare and walk as far away as you can before calling it. read more

Went here this past Sunday for the farewell tour of Cyndi Lauper and we had a good time. This is an outdoor venue so events happen rain or shine. Been here several times and this is the first time we got seated seats. Usually do the lawn seats which is great for cheaper prices. This venue allows you to bring in food although there are plenty of options inside too but it is pricey. We ate before coming and just got a boozy frozen drink for the show. This was my wife and I's first return to Shoreline in more than two decades, and we both agreed that the reason we hadn't been back was due to negative experiences back then and the rise of other options over the years. (In my case, we had a group of ladies smoking clove cigarettes in the middle of our row an the staff couldn't care less - no worries, I took myself and friends to other places and we enjoyed ourselves quite well. This time, we can both report a mostly SOLID experience start to finish. The staff was great, our fellow patrons were helpful and positive, and the show, staging and sound was spot on. KUDOS to all. The VIP food was surprisingly good, nicely done served by nice people. GREAT cocktails as well. My only comments for improvement was when we spent about 30 mins of our VIP time waiting in line to get into the VIP plaza - No Bueno. The second is, that venues need to read the room and invest in sufficient restrooms for the ladies, I would suggest a 60/40 rule: figure how much space you can dedicate for restrooms and give 60% to the ladies and 40% to the gents, or just add more overall. Looong lines for the women is also, no bueno. read more

I've attended several concerts here, and the venue is quite enjoyable when the weather cooperates. The layout is spacious, providing plenty of room for walking. They even have a dedicated area for food trucks, which is a great alternative to the usual venue fare. Lawn seats are always affordable, but there's a risk of a tall person obstructing your view (and most people stand throughout the concert, even in the seats). Transportation is a major drawback. Parking situation is pretty tough, and traffic getting out is awful unless you pay for premier parking. If you decide to drive and don't pay for the premier parking, consider parking farther away and walking, as getting in and out of the parking lot can be a nightmare. Also, arrive early because the freeway exit often gets backed up. Other than that, I do enjoy my events when visiting Shoreline Amp. Just plan ahead for a good experience. read more

Super smooth getting in--entry was efficient and picking up a lawn chair was a breeze. The sound system was great and made the Dave Matthews Band show even better. Where I struggle is I'm a disabled person and sitting on the hill is very difficult and the amount of chairs for rent vs the over amount of humans that sit on the green is like 1 to 500 so getting a chair rental is next to impossible, and you can't bring your own chair. If you could just allow people to bring stadium chairs or chairs that have specific height/width would be a huge help for people like me. read more

Saw Hillary Duff last night at the shoreline. The biggest complaint was the parking situation. We got premier parking, but it was not communicated where the premier parking lot was. We drove around for 30 minutes and landed in the other parking lots thinking it was ours. We even asked a handful of workers where the premier parking was. There were also a few people in front of us who had to ask, so we eventually followed them. Wow, it's been a while since I've last been here to the Shoreline Amphitheater. My wife bought tickets for NKOTB, Paula Abdul, and DJ Jazzy Jeff. It was 96° in San Jose. Thankfully, in Mountain View, it was a breezy cool 84°. Thank goodness for that breeze! Friendly staff guiding, directing, policing the crowds. DJ Jazzy Jeff, Dave Jordan opened up and got the crowd going! Beach balls, upbeat music only Jazzy Jeff could do with his scratching. He got the crowd all fired up! Paula Abdul was up next and opened with "Straight Up." Ok, actually, i knew "Rush, Rush." But, she was grateful for her career, touring with NKOTB and entertaining the crowds. She performed for about 30 minutes. NKOTB came on, and people were so stoked! They, too, were grateful for performing for...(ahem 40+ years). They were awesome and so entertaining to watch. The food was...meh. Pre-cooked and just sitting around waiting for orders to come in. Bratwurst: Carmelized beer onions & koko's grain mustard (3/5) Double Cheeseburger (2.5/5) + Fries (1/5). The burger was dry. Thankfully, we put some bbq sauce on to give it some flavor and moisture. The bun was toasted too long and was hard. The French fries were rock hard and drier than dry. I wanted to get a good seat so I sprung for my vip ticket. When they email you about how great the vip package it's clear the vip expedite at the venue is a vip admission experience. Getting to the location to venue was possible to use public transit was from Caltrains to the venue . Mountain View Transit center is large , signage small for the 40 bus for the final lap leg to the theater Caltrains is 1/2 block to the south , follow the helpful VTA sign. Bus drops you off at googleplex then you have a park like setting walk a block to the theater entrance from the street and another 2 block walk to entrance. VIP experience easy check . Remember to bring your ID. Check in at venue easy . If you get early entry be forwarned. Limited options most venues are not open , limited seating , very little shade other than one bar. No access to seats and few options other than alcohol beforehand . Anything you might need is closed, people walk around anxiously in a small box like area .on an 80 degrees day. They show online food ordering but no pre ordering early at all for Uber eats. Unclear how to get your food. VIP check in was to be by 3:30 to 4:30 on . So they let in folks early so folks just bounced around , no signage and just folks who bark at people who walk in the no go zones . Hard to identify staff thier t shirts look like concert t shirts . So they also don't say who they are, like "I am event staff". So folks were confused . The whole entry area is in need of a make over. It lacks any sense of place , it looks like a half abandoned strip mall before it comes to life . There is no fanfare when they open up the rest of the location. You just have to figure it out. For 26 - I ordered and 8 piece roll and 9 dollar lemonade. The best can speak of the flavor of the sushi as fresh Safeway style sushi. It gets the job done in the tuna itself seems fresh . For those lucky enough to snatch a ticket in the lawn section it's first come first serve, so when they open the gate at around five, it's a mad dash, be careful some people run so easily keep an eye out . No, apparently there's many versions of VIP of course is the backstage VIP, then there's the VIP with swag, and then the site has a bar VIP, but if you're a VIP ticket holder, you cannot get him to VIP bar. This place is like a circus it is energizing, but also people are walking in every direction so that's a cool vibe. Like other venues be prepared to show your ticket many times every time you move through a section . Heaven forbid you are a family or group. And no they do not show you to your seat so you have to guess what section you are in on the seat . I asked folks seated so the crowd was helpful. For the trip home a walk to the station for the local transit center for the area there there are no buses at 10 PM so I had to take a Uber over to the Caltrain station luckily that train was working into the evening. Saw Conan Gray here on October 3rd - amazing show and great atmosphere overall. However, I did want to note an issue with guest behavior. Before the show started, people in reserved seating were given colored papers to put over our phone flashlights as part of the opening moment, and everyone around me was participating. Despite this, a woman sitting in the row in front of me (not even directly in front) snapped at me to turn my light off, even though it was clearly part of the show and everyone had their lights on. It was unnecessary and made the experience uncomfortable for no reason. I wish staff or ushers were more proactive in setting expectations or stepping in when guests are rude over things that are clearly allowed. The venue itself is great and has some good food options, but moments like that can really take you out of the experience. read more

This past weekend, I watched The Chainsmokers at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. I was a little nervous about it because of the negative reviews on Yelp. Despite these reviews, I'm glad I went to see one of my favorite bands. Parking: My bf and I parked at a nearby hotel. We saved $75 by not purchasing premier parking. We took Uber to the concert, which cost us $7.00. After the concert, we took 20 minutes to walk back to the car. I read horror stories of taking 1-2 hours exiting the parking lot! Concert tix: $323.50 for 2 GA lower level seats Fast lane: $15 per ticket. My bf and I were the first ones in line for the fast lane. We were allowed to enter before the slow line. Because we were the first ones in line for one of the entrances, we managed to snag second-row seats in the center. Security: Friendly workers all around. I was scared they wouldn't allow me to bring in my point-and-shoot, so I hid it under a wad of napkins and some mints. They do not allow professional cameras, meaning cameras with detachable lenses. Food: The rules at the concert are inconsistent. They didn't allow us to bring in our sealed water bottle, so bf had to chug most of it before tossing it. I managed to smuggle in some hot chips that I kept hidden in my jacket pocket. Bathrooms: Clean. Drinks: $19 for a strawberry lemonade margarita in a shaker cup. Good stuff. Entrances: They have two. Next time I will line up at the one closest to the stage, so I don't have to run to get good seats. Sound: Maybe I was too close to the stage, but the sound was less than stellar. My Logitech speakers produce better sound quality. Seats: I was able to score without paying thousands of dollars. We lined up a couple of hours before the concert started. I knew people weren't going to line up too early for this concert because I attended another Chainsmokers concert earlier last October. The real party animals come out at night. Tip: Bring earplugs if you are going to sit in the front. read more

I really like Shoreline! It is OG, and one of the few amphitheaters in the Bay Area. It's actually the largest with a capacity of 22k+! My first rave here, bahaha in 2012 @ IDentity Fest Tickets can be really cheap and affordable, even in 2024 lawn tickets were $20!! It's tucked in by the baylands, so gives it a secluded and some nature like feel. But also because of that, traffic is asssss lol. But any concert area in&out is ass. Tip is to leave a bit early and speed walk the hell out of there. Orrrr if not just know you will need to walk pretty far after. I've walked all the way to In&Out, it wasn't too bad and you also get a late night snack! They're innovative to bring in foods trucks (Chick n' Bros !! taco truck, burgers, donuts). Another smart idea they did was small vendor carts/ stands, this helps with having more options and less lines. All in all, nothing beats a summer night outside singing and dancing with your friends (: read more

Ahhh yes the famed Shoreline Amphitheater... This is one of the premier venues in the Bay area for concerts that won't cost you an arm or a leg. They stopped allowing you to bring your own lawn chairs about a year ago...or maybe a bit longer. If you want one, they make you rent a chair at $15 or $12 if you book it a bit earlier. However, you can bring water and snacks in. They have several rotating food trucks and their own food stands all around the venue for dining options. Beverages of course have your standard 1 million percent entertainment venue rip-off markup... They really ought to do something about the lawn. It's so uneven, full of holes, patches of dirt and dry grass complimented with gopher holes and bumps / mounds. I highly suggest avoiding the lawn if you come wearing heels...or have issues walking. The parking is very crowded, ingress and egress can turn into a nightmare, especially for the sold out shows. If the Gods smile upon you...good for you. Lately they've been trying to charge you a $50 early exit fee. They tend to switch lot capacity like a bi-polar slumlord. I know this, because we do shady things to skip the lines, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I've never been to Shoreline Amphitheatre before, and the only reason why I came here is because of The Cure playing during Memorial Weekend 2023. Concert itself is great! Fulfilled a mom-daughter dream of seeing The Cure together! However, the venue leaves a lot to be desired. There's terrible parking and traffic. On the lawn, people everywhere are smoking and security doesn't do anything about it despite smoking being prohibited. What's the point of all the no smoking allowed signs then?! It's also so huge, that even lawn tickets are expensive, and you have to watch screens in order to see what's going on onstage. I'll only come back IF I think an artist is worth watching. read more
