Hillview Community Center, and Hillview Park (both listed at the same address 97 Hillview Avenue)…read moreoffers many recreational and community programs for Los Altans, mainly kids and youth. These include music and dancing courses, art classes, fitness, and cooking. The Los Altos senior program is also hosted here. I walk these grounds almost every day. If your thing is walking, it's close to downtown, you just have to cross the San Antonio Rd. Best way is to cross at the intersection where Enchanté Boutique Hotel now stands. Or you can park by the library, and walk around to see it all. I have reviews for many of the individual listings described below. This complex is an 8.3 acre site, which consists of the following facilities surrounding the Los Altos library: - The administrative offices of the Recreation & Community Services Department - Little League baseball diamond - The "Whistlestop" children's playground near it - The parcourse exercise equipment - A soccer field that is, essentially, the Hillview Park (please see a separate review) - Los Altos History Museum - Gilbert Smith History House - Bus Barn Theater, or Los Altos Stage Company There are multiple facilities that are available for rentals, like celebrations, social gatherings, and kids birthdays: two bocce ball courts, a multi-purpose room with kitchen, and several classrooms and meeting rooms. These are mostly older facilities, and at the same time, they exude a certain old country charm and are full of history.

Currently closed for renovations…read more I've been attending a keep fit class here for a few weeks and would say that the building is tired, old and in need of some love. It's like they read my mind, because it's currently closed so that they can renovate the place!! I'm excited to see how these will improve the site and its facilities for the local community, and hope to update my review to a more positive one once the work is complete

They are happier ever since they started here since they get to see friends and have daily exercises including walking on trails nearby. They also provide transportation for them. They highly recommend to their friends and neighbors. They also have staff fluent in mandarin Chinese and Russian.

My mom has been going to golden castle since 2015. They were ok for people with no serious health…read morecondition. This supposed to be an Adult Health Day Care, now with my mom having more health condition (heart failure and limited mobility), we have issues which we tried to address with them and they just won't address the issues or very slow to address the issues: 1. The food provided in the day care are salty, especially the soup and the oatmeal. When I reported that the food is salty for people with heart failure, they simply ignore and repeatly said they didn't add salt to the food. It's true, they don't add salt to the food, but if they are using salted butter for the oatmeal and using can soup broth for the soup, how much sodium those has. I even presented my mom's doctor's note that my mom need to have low sodium diet, it took several complaint before this issue was address. 2. The driver who pickup my mom is very rude. When he is late, he pulled my mom's walker and my mom almost fell if i didn't held her at that time. Today, he is supposed to come at 8:30 am. We were waiting outside since 8:28 am. He didn't show up till 8:37 am. THen my mom needs to go pee and we went back to the house to go to the restroom. In the mean time, he showed up. He probably was waiting less than 5 min, and when we were almost at the end of the ramp, he simply left without waiting for my mom. This kind of attitude toward elderly is simply an elderly abused. After several call, they sent another driver to pickup my mom. It should not have to be this way. 3. Health hygiene. As an adult health day care, they should scan everyone's temperature to prevent elderly people contracted illness. Last december, my mom got the covid-19 from the daycare, and our whole family got the covid-19 as well. The only person going out at that time was my mom attending this daycare. I was working from home. I ended getting the covid-19 as well from my mom. I am really disappointed with the level of service they have provided. The service has been good and degraded so much.
