Not that we go to nightclubs much anymore, but when we moved to Mountain View, we waited in line for Gelato Classico next door which we heard so much about (we are much more foodies than dancies). The gelato line was so long at 10pm that the bouncer at Opal was enticing people to come into Opal as there was no cover before 10pm. We said 'why not' and decided to pop in for a bit and grabbed a couple drinks. It's not a bad option for the younger crowd as there a limited options in MV in general. read more

We had our Office Holiday Party at Opal. The Venue was decked out with Holiday decorations and was the perfect space for our 150 person party. We had space for a raffle, some casino tables, plenty of catered food and drinks. We also had plenty of dancing room, not that we have a lot of dancers. Everyone that came really enjoyed themselves. The DJ was helpful when it was speech/raffle announcement time. Also played a nice variety of music. Toni and the rest of the Events Team helped with all the details and made my life so much easier. From helping me 6 months in advance with pre-party ideas/recommendations to helping with executing day of. Despite not having the event, I still wanted to recognize Jean Marie for being an absolute expert in her field, and being so so pleasant to work with. She has amazing people skills and knows exactly how to coordinate an event, she has so many great ideas and because of her experience and knowledge, you know you will have an amazing event! We needed a nice space with a central location for our startup's (TourMega) launch party and had heard about Opal. We contacted Scarlett, told her what we were looking for, and she was very helpful in walking us through the options for our event. We chose our date and preferred times and reserved the space. Very easy and transparent process. Leading up to the event, Scarlett was extremely helpful in helping us get the word out through Opal's various marketing platforms which helped us reach a wide audience. The day of the event, Scarlett and here team made sure everything went smoothly. They were very flexible with the space and timing of everything to make sure we had what we needed. We were even able to get our logo on the screens that line the walls of the venue which made for a very personal and professional touch. I LOVE Opal! I was fortunate to be introduced to Opal not from a Nightclub experience, but from a meeting place venue. I walked in, saw the beautiful and well-lit front circular bar, the wall textures and uplighting, the soft seating, the chandeliers, the HUGE LED screen, the 8 framed monitors, the upstairs private loft, the back bar and immediately was blown away. And then I met Scarlett and fell in LOVE with the place. As absolutely beautiful as Opal is, it's the staff that makes it beyond compare. I held a Fashion Show on a Thursday night during Happy hour. Scarlett and her crew made sure our guests and our models were well catered to. We had a phenomenal experience with OPAL Event Center. We hosted a private event here and worked with the event manager, who was extremely professional and creative. She worked with us to create a personalized event complete with signature cocktails, a custom digital photo show, and a personalized playlist. The club was set up with cocktail tables and lounge seating to create a space with an easy flow for mingling guests. OPAL has classy decor with specialized touches - like a photo booth with fun accessories. The OPAL chef worked with us to create a menu that suited our vegetarian and non-vegetarian guests. Even our vegan guests found something they liked! The DJ was excellent. He had our guests on their feet and filled the dance floor through the night. Our guests enjoyed the bottle service and the OPAL wait staff took great care of us. They made sure our guests were well hydrated throughout the event. I had the dream 40th birthday party at Opal in April!!! For years I knew I wanted a huge red carpet themed birthday bash when I turned 40. I looked at well over a dozen spaces and fell in love with the beautiful event space at Opal and the management team. From day one, I worked with the owner, Sarah, who was in constant communication with me, took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, helped me work in my budget, and made the event perfect. I am a former restaurant manager and event planner, and I have very high event standards. I was hesitant to let Opal do all of the set up and decorating since I am a perfectionist and did not know what to expect. But - I dropped everything off the day before and just hoped for the best - the outcome was more amazing than I could have imagined. My guests are still talking about what a memorable party was. We rented Opal for a dance video shoot with about 20 people, and it was a perfect space. The setting has a vintage and opulent speakeasy vibe, with fantastic party lights and LED screens for a very dynamic atmosphere. Scarlett was a breeze to work with and incredibly responsive, she really took great care of us and was invested in helping our shoot succeed. And the location is super-convenient, with a parking lot in the back and being only about 2 blocks from the Caltrain station & transit hub. Next time I need a beautiful, private event space, I will definitely look to book Opal! read more

Private bar / restaurant rooms are hard to come by in Mountain View. When I was tasked with finding a private space in Mountain View for a happy hour, 50 people I balked...thankfully, I came across OPAL in Mountain View, right on Castro street! What a gem--Scarlett was SO easy to work with. The space is very nice, and although it has the capacity for 200+ people, didn't feel too large. Her go-to caterer did a great job with appetizers. Scarlett / OPAL was very flexible with with pricing and we found something to fit our budget. Scarlett and staff were very gracious the day-of hosting the event. We have used OPAL the past two years for corporate holiday parties and have had such a great time. It is such a perfect space, it's not too big, and not too small, perfect to medium to small offices. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with any/all needs you may have. I booked a private event through Scarlett and it was wonderful! OPAL met all of our needs and was so flexible. Sometimes it's hard to find reliable event planners but Scarlett took great care of us. She also connected us with an amazing caterer, which was a huge help. The venue is gorgeous, unique and can accommodate a diverse range of events. I love the upstairs balcony- super cool and a nice touch for a quiet space or VIP area if the main room is packed. They have a 360 bar in the center of the room, which creates that wow-factor as guests enter for the first time. The first half of the venue would be perfect if you had a smaller group (20-40 people), but the whole venue can probably hold 300 or so. The dance floor is pretty big and they've got a cool elevated DJ booth. Super fun secret: the mirrors on the walls are actually TV screens and you can get logos/special messages up there read more

We had the pleasure of hosting an event for around 200 people at Opal after our company announced we were being acquired and I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and the venue. I was blown away by the level of service provided by Scarlett and her team in the planning and execution of our event. We had to move the date of our party several times and Scarlett was accommodating and helpful every time we had to reschedule. She made the process extremely fluid and helped with making our event a huge success. The price was reasonable and the process was transparent which is hard to find in event planning! We were able to bring in our own decorations to make the space more personal and also had our own images projected on the screens throughout the venue. We asked for a couple of special cocktails to be made and the bartenders were more than happy to accommodate our request. The space is well decorated and maintained. I had reservations when first booking since it seemed like it was branded as a nightclub. However, after visiting the venue during the day it was clear that it could be adapted to fit whatever event we needed it to. Most people stood but there were also plenty of areas to sit and chat as well as a quieter area upstairs. We hosted our party from 12-5pm and then many people went out for drinks/dinner in the area immediately following. The onsite catering was also delicious! I haven't heard a single complaint from anyone at the company which is a difficult feat to accomplish (especially in tech). I HIGHLY recommend using Opal as an event space. I would book the venue again in a heartbeat. Can't wait to work with Scarlett and team again in the future! read more

The Company I work for put me in charge of setting up a Holiday Party for two of our larger offices, about 180 people total. I looked around at so many different venues and was immediately intrigued by the look of Opal! After emailing back and forth with thier Events Director Scarlett (who was more than accommodating to all my questions, requests, changes in the time, amount of guests, staffing needs, etc.... the list goes on.) I decided that Opal was the winner!! I was able to arrange a meeting with Scarlett in person closer to the event date to check out the venue as well as meet Chef Hassan of La Fontaine who would be catering the event. The service and attention to detail as far as the special diet needs of some of our guests made things to much easier on me at the party planner. Not to mention that the food was great! I arrived to Opal early the night of the party to set up our center pieces that I made. I was so happy to see just how spectacular everything looked! I could not have been more pleased. We used thier DJ, who was great, and we used thier recommended photo booth company (Tapsnap1050) which was a HUGE hit! So much fun playing with all the photos! Post event I have had nothing but super positive feedback about the excellent food (Thank you Hassan!!!), the great service from the bartenders and door crew, and the look and feel of the whole event in general! I was blown away with the level of service we received from the team at OPAL. We are not local, (from Ohio) and planned an event for 30+ people at OPAL on a Wednesday night. The team was great and made everything easy for us. They were very flexible and accommodating to all our needs. The venue is perfect for group events. It has been an outstanding evening with great feedback from all my guests. Most were French and international so difficult group to please.. We were a total of 200 with catering .. Our company used Opal for our 80's Prom themed holiday party and it was perfect. The venue is very spacious with plenty of room around the bar, seating/tables near the dance floor, and a quiet area upstairs. They have framed screens hanging along the walls and we were able to have slideshows of 80's themed movies on all of the screens. Would use again and recommend to others. read more

We celebrated a 40th birthday at OPAL last weekend and I have only positive things to say! Derek was super helpful throughout the whole process. We hosted about 60 people on a Saturday from 6:30-9:30. The venue is very attractive, we didn't need additional decorations. A slideshow played throughout the club on different screens, making it super personalized and special for the birthday girl. We had signature drinks, mixed drinks, wine and beer with the cost being very reasonable. Derek worked with us to make sure that our hopes were met within our budget. After 9:30 the public started coming in, but we were welcome to stay and partied away for the better part of the night! For the first part we brought our own music and when the DJ started spinning at 9:30 he was extremely perceptive and played songs for a good hour and a half that kept most of our guests dancing before switching to tunes for the younger crowd. We catered our event with Cascal and Derek and Cascal worked together seamlessly with set up and take down. Birthday girl had the best time ever and all guest enjoyed themselves as well. read more
