I didn't have high hopes to begin with based off of some of the reviews seen here, but Nirav and his staff left us highly unsatisfied after spending $23,000+ for our event. I would highly advise you book your event elsewhere in the Bay Area, even if it requires a bit of extra commute time for your guests. This venue requires full payment beforehand but puts in half the effort on the day of the event.
Initial Consultation
The initial consultation with Nirav was good. He and his staff promised us the entire main hall, decent pricing, and despite Nirav entertaining other guests and taking constant chewing tobacco spit breaks, overall, it felt promising. We were given a few discounts and were able to negotiate menu upgrades, reviewed decor quotes, and other added expenses that we wanted to have.
Second Consultation
This second consultation is when things started to go bad, and in hindsight I should have seen the signs and stopped working with this venue. As it just so turns out, someone else had booked of the second hall and happens to be a "close friend" of the venue owner. Therefore, we were told to either accept one of their other halls (which would not be big enough to accommodate) or accept of the main hall and the FULL outside where food would be set up. Note: Please beware of this "close friend of the owner" scam that Nirav may try to use on you.
Since we were close to our wedding reception date and time was running out, we decided to believe in Nirav and his staff, paid the deposit, and took his word on all of the reassurances he gave about space, noise pollution from the other event, and having the entire outside area as the food serving location.
10-day prior Consultation/Decoration Appointment
10 days prior to the event, this appointment was a wreck. We were at the venue from 7pm to 11:45pm. Nirav was hastily running a reception, tending to other inquiries, taking tobacco breaks, and serving us everything except for the food off of our decided menu - all while trying to help us finalize our decor.
You can make the argument that their decor pricing is high, but look, you are paying for the convenience of having everything done "in-house". It'd be worth it if Nirav followed what you had asked and paid for. Surprise, surprise... he did not deliver (more on this below).
After nearly 5 long hours of doing something that should have been 1-2 hours max, we left home convincing ourselves as best as we could that everything would be okay on the day of the event.
Reception Day
My wife and I arrived early to the reception hall, only to find to our horror that barely any of the promises that Nirav had made were met. We only had half the main hall, only of the outside area when we were promised it in full, and the venue was definitely NOT enough space for our guest count as Nirav had said it would be. There was a table in the middle of the dance floor... why?? The center pieces we had decided on and paid for were not used, the backdrop was not what we had agreed on, the center chair was different from what we had selected, and the extra photo booths backdrops that we had paid for were not decorated how we had agreed on them to be.
Food was coming out late, and we had to have people constantly urge the staff to get things ready on time. We paid for a next day edit from our videographers to be played, and Nirav had promised that there is a functioning projector in the back half of the hall. If you take a look at some other reviews, it turns out that this projector has been broken for quite some time and staff come out to try and fix it every time as an act.
Having already taken our money, we had no choice but to continue on with our event as best as we could.
Summary
Nirav is a scam artist, and I would not believe a word that he or his staff tell you. They will overpromise and under deliver and will treat you like you are stupid. Stay clear and find another venue. read more
