The company did my new roof 5 years ago and this winter cause water dams. i call him to see if he could come out and take a look at the damage and to fix the problem. the adjustOR came out and took pictures and i must say several mistakes were found on my roof. to no avail Ron Lewis made several appts and had an excuse to not show up for these appts. I am report him to the Better Business. I spent 10,000 dollars of my hard-working money. Ok Yelpers here's my honest review of Shore Lock Homes: I met with about 15 different contractors on a large job for my beach house that would include roof, cedar impression siding, large Egress stairs going up 3 stories, demo of an inclosed porch to turn into an open farmers porch, 2 more sets of outdoor stairs, installing some outside doors, and replacing build in garage style doors. Anyhow, only about 10% of contractors even bothered getting back to me with a price on this job. Furthermore, whoever did get back the prices were just outrageous in my opinion. I finally came in contact with Contractor Ronnie from Shore Lock. He listened intently to everything I wanted and was able to give me a price right on the spot! That price was at least 1/2 of what I was quoted by everyone else. I asked him "what if we run into issues like rotting wood on roof or anywhere else"?, he told me not to worry he's NOT the type of contractor to add to the price later. He stuck to his word even though a lot of wood was rotting and replaced in various areas around the house. I am very pleased with the work done by Ronnie's guys. My house literally looks transformed. The guys worked incredibly hard and were meticulous about cleaning up. I really thought this is too good to be true when I hired them.. but here I am in the end with all this work done at a great price and a Gorgeous house! Pictures just don't do it justice. I have people literally stopping on the street to ask me about the color and how beautiful the house looks. Ronnie communicated well with me throughout the process and truly was wonderful! I can't give 5 stars because the communication was not that great. When they started the job they just showed up without letting me know I was lucky I was home because I have a gate in the back or they would have not been able to come in. Also it took them a month to pick up the trash. When the house was stripped they forgot to take off the old metal around the door. Because of that ( they just put the new metal on top ) when I got my new front door put in they had to cut the old metal off that cost me extra $$$ Besides that I don't have any issues. I typically don't write reviews however, I am so disappointed on the day of the roofing work I had no clue that they were coming. The aftermath of the work done on my property in Oct 2022 was as bad. In August of 2023 I hired Shore Lock Homes to replace my roof. Only part of the roof was replaced and the job was left unfinished. I still need a boot clamp for the pipe vent and to replace some loose shingles. I've tried calling and leaving messages for Ron Lewis but I have not heard back. Window installation I fell for an advertisement online. Ron Lewis is a skillful salesperson, and I had 11 windows installed on Aug 21. After the installation, half of the windows did not lock closed, be it because of poor quality of the frames, or poor installation craftsmanship. I informed Mr. Lewis on Aug 26. When I mentioned that, I was strung along for three weeks, until the date of this notice. Mr. Lewis promised each week to come and try to remediate the problem, and never came or rescheduled his visit. The windows were manufactured by Mercury Excelum, Inc., and the installation was performed by New England Remodeling. Very disappointed with this company. Back in September 2011 I had 6 windows replaced. This year as I washing one I noticed it was foggy . Located my original paper work ,it stated Lifetime warranty includes glass, so I called Mr Lewis . Starting in April very week up to today , kept getting the same song oh I have not forgotten about you. Finally sent a worker out to take measurements in Sept still waiting for replacement. TERRIBLE they sell and install JUNK product (windows) I have gaps in the frame of all windows where bugs have gotten into house (see photos) he call window rep who was a RUDE CONDESENDING rep then I get told bigger screens will fix the problem well I waited over a month between showing him my issue and waiting on the new screens with ZERO follow ups or updates. he essentially took my money and ran.... while im stuck with windows that bugs can come right into the house when I have the windows open. I not only think this is GROSS but also a health issue. Had my windows changed mid 2022. Guys came in the house. Did the work. Damaged my filtered water faucet. (Yes got credit). Not everything was done properly. Had them come out because the windows were letting in a draft. And bugs were coming in from not sealing properly. also have had a bathroom window not work properly since day 1. Ron has had me playing dumb waiting for them. Excuse after excuse. Now August 2023 still no window in bathroom repaired. I would not recommend any one to use this company. Giving 2 stars because the crew did show up and came back to fix a couple of things otherwise for Ron alone I would give one star. However after a home inspection found out that the flashing on my chimney was still done incorrectly after they came back a second time. I called Ron, texted him to ask him to fix it. It could have been a really easy fix to keep a satisfied customer. I also need a copy of my warranty and have had no reply after several tries. Now I read other reviews about Ron's communication and pray I never get a leak. I feel like follow up is just as important as the sale itself. Ron is a really nice guy as he did my roof about 5 years ago. After some of the shingles started rippling within a few months, I asked him to stop by and take a look. Over the phone, he said that it sounded like an easy fix by re-tacking the shingles. After many promises from him of stopping by, I finally gave up. Again, the job itself wasn't bad it's just that there was no follow up. It's too bad because while he is reasonably priced and does a decent job, it's not worth the aggravation of the lack of follow through. You get the sense that once his two workers left the job, he's done with you. Unfortunately, I have to advise to look elsewhere. read more

Run the con. After deposit shows up over a month late only after a phone call and said you should have called me. Sends out a bunch of clowns that considers themselves tradesmen can't speak English nor do they know how to install a roof properly. I had thtem several layers twice. Ron promised we do things right .what a joke!! He installed gutters that wouldn't even flow correctly, drain pipe on the ground was tilted upwards and partially buried in the dirt. Sent Ron photos he starts screaming and yelling don't you send me any more photos because this was my girlfriend's house and then sent me a text message saying we know how to deal with people that insert themselves into his business. Girlfriend instructed him she asked me to intercede. They even smashed the aluminum siding with a hammer to straighten out a rafter. The crew didn't even have a crimping tool for the gutters, left several exposed sheet metal screws so you can rip your hand wide open in years to come. They tried leaving up to a 2 inch Gap from the top of the gutter to the roof line with no fascia board I was told that there was nothing wrong with that. I had to call the building inspector after the 5th visit and have the building inspector instruct them how to install a roof correctly. Oh is that how you do it​​. I was so annoyed I had to waste all my timeof​​​ and get aggravated, well girlfriend was in tears and couldn't wait to get him off the property personally I wouldn't have paid him a penny entire roof was improperly nails and was documented by a home inspector and he left and he left a big sway in the roof where he was supposed to fix all the wood of course that never happened. Girlfriend just wanted them off the property as she was in tears with all his nonsense and he responsibility. Building inspectors thanked me for my attention and told me we got his number now if he ever files for a permit in this town again. You have been warned I've been want strongly suggest you get a company that actually the person installing the roof is the owner and has an interest in doing the job correctly not a salesman. His last statement was it's going to rain and the next couple of days so we'll see that's how confident he is in these clowns that he calls tradesmen. We do things right what a joke. read more

*Buyer Beware* I am posting this on behalf of my aunt. She got a complete brand new roof about 4 years ago (with a LIFETIME WARRANTY), and not even a few months later she noticed a severe leak. She has been calling Ron since then and he has completely been avoiding her. I decided to call him yesterday from my phone, and he called me back within minutes. He claimed he was driving and would look up the account and call me right back. I told him he had until the end of business yesterday (which gave him about 5 hours to call me back) and he still has not called back. I used Shore Lock Homes about 2 years ago and Ron did a great presentation and offered a lifetime warranty to replace my roof. I went ahead with the deposit....waited over a month for work to begin. This was due to delayed shipment of shingles according to Ron. Once the work was finally completed and I gave the final check, Ron indicated that he would mail me a paid in full receipt. So, weeks, months and now years have passed and no receipt. I have called Shore Lock Homes and Ron annually over the past two years to request "paid in full receipt". Unfortunately, pleasant as Ron has been over the phone...the receipt he promised to send has never arrived. This supports the previous comments of avoiding this contractor...the service is poor and the return of phone calls is selective. I am contemplating reporting to Consumer Affairs as well as Better Business Bureau as this is an unacceptable business practice. A clear indication of the level of service Ron/Shore Lock seeks to maintain. Don't use this contractor...you can do and find better. To call Ron a liar is a understatement. read more

NO FOLLOW UP! I had my entire homes windows replaced by Sure-lok and all went well until I had an issue. Ron came out to look, said he'd order a new window and would call in a few weeks to set up installation. I let a month go by and called 4X including once on his personal cell. His answering service is borderline rude, when I told them I'd left multiple messages, they hung up. I never received a call back, my window is still broken and I'm looking for another contractor. I hired Ron last year for home in NH; to replace 2 main windows, alum trim around all windows, 1 gallon PVC paint and install FRONT gutter (back gutter was already present and in good condition but I did not have a front gutter) Windows & Trim done on time and good job; HOWEVER, his crew ripped out BACK gutter and replaced.... never got 1 gallon PVC paint. I paid in full as I was told work was done and I was not available to double check, I trusted him. Over the past 10 months, I've pleaded with him to install front gutter - he told me dozens of times "will do, this weekend" but to date NOT DONE. Get the stupid gutter up Ron, I'll have to contact better business and see you in court. read more

I hired Sure-lok to install a new roof on my porch and new gutters and trim to my aluminum sided house as we had been experiencing a leak for several years on the front porch roof and had several contractors "fix" the problem over the years but Ron came by explained where he thought the problem was coming from and gave me a very reasonable estimate. The men arrived promptly at 7:30 a.m. the next Monday and worked for two days refinishing my trim and gutters and installing the roof. We have had several compliments from neighbors on how the new gutters and trim give the house a whole new updated look and finally my roof is not leaking. Bobby from Sure-lok showed me how the previous installers had reversed the installation and by doing so actually created the leaking problem. my problem was solved and the house looks good and the price was fair. I will use these guys for my new windows next year when I replace them. Good job I highly recommend them read more

His crew was there on time & our roof installed in 1 day. The crew protected our deck & property and cleaned afterwards. You wouldn't have known they were there. No leaks, looks great! Do not trust RON LEWIS (RON THE CON) he is a liar and a thief!!! He quoted a job to do siding on our house, roof and the decks and they work was done extremely poorly. He promised he would do our work in June and made us wait 2 months and HAS VERY POOR COMMUNICATION AND LIES RIGHT TO YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!! His workers told us that he did not pay them on time and that the checks he gave them did not clear and they weren't paid for weeks. The roof leaked during the first rainstorm, the siding was installed poorly and is coming off our house in 7 different locations and the trek decking that his workers installed was loose in multiple areas not to mention the material he used which he said as "TOP QUALITY" we found was second rate cheap stuff and he charged us over $50,000 for. Ron's great crew replaced our roof with no problems this January. He had a great price, and his crew worked very long days to complete it as soon as possible. They cleaned up really well. April 2014, I needed my roof replaced and did a very good amount of searching for both a good price and someone who was going to do the job right, with quality workmanship. I narrowed it down and chose Ron Lewis, here's why. He has a ton of photos of houses he has done. He has valid insurance and is licensed in RI and MA. He used top of the line products on my house. I did my research. I learned about the different shingles, underlayment and methods of proper install. I questioned methods and listened to how he would do it. I went over the whole job in detail with him and was confident in his capability. BUT, remember... the job is still only as good as the actual team that puts it ON the roof. The team of 4 guys that did my roof were seasoned pro's. They did a perfect prep with covering things and an A+ install. I was there and watched. I know proper method and procedure for doing it right. These guys were spot on, going above and beyond in method and quality of workmanship. Their clean up job left my yard looking better than before they arrived. I can easily recommend these guys as a great team for product, workmanship and value for a roofing job well done. read more

Sure-lok Homes is an awful company. Sadly they came recommended by a friend. I'm not sure what happened in the two years that my friend had his roof done but I contracted Ron Lewis to redo my roof in August of 2011. He told me the job would get done in a few weeks. It wasn't until October that the company finally came to install a roof that leaks to this day. He didn't notify me, men just showed up to my house when my wife and mother were home alone. They left nails around the driveway and the pallets for the shingles thrown behind my garage. I wrote to the Better Business Bureau only to watch his BBB rating fall to a D+ around the same time (I just looked today only to find out that Sure-lok Homes' BBB accreditation has been revoked ). I am considering whether or not to take legal action at this time because Ron has still not honored his lifetime warranty (again, my roof still leaks to this day).
