It's so refreshing to find a company that does what they say they'll do. When we needed to tweak the schedule, they offered some flexibility to accommodate us. The CarePros are courteous, respectful, and caring in their duties. In a time of need with this broken healthcare system, it's awesome to know there's a company you can turn to.

I would like to bring you a review from my own perspective as an employee of Home Instead, a highly…read moresought after company for Senior care. My tittle is a Care ProfessIonal, which I like since it reminds me that I'm constantly offering my best to each of the Clients with one on one * hands on empathetic compassion to YOUR LOVED One. This Company makes good use of some of its talented dedicated PRIOR Care Professionals in the employee selection process because they too have worked with Clients and posses the knowledge from the "other side of the fence " therefore can SPOT that right and unique caring potential must hire addition to the Home Instead team of care. That being said, let me also point out that the continuous years of service from these wonderful care employees is outstanding. There's no "here today gone tomorrow" employees. Poor employee turn around causes your Senior loved one much confusion with unnecessary need to re explain where things are and whats needed to each new caregiver. Having worked with some of the competitors, I can honestly say...." I'm so proud to wear my badge and show up to work every day..to be there for YOU the client that is choosing to stay HOME INSTEAD beacause there's no place like home sweet home paired with high quality care. Ask questions and look for references when seeking a care person or company for your self or loved ones. Having the right "fit" means happy and worry free days and nights. Love to all, Diane

I chose Visiting Angels over Senior Corp because Angels was so much better about staying in touch. I live 430 miles away from my mother, and I needed help that was going to communicate with me in a timely manner. Visiting Angels gets high marks for communication. As it turned out, by the time we got the scheduling worked out, mom was feeling much stronger and did not want the service. Dean Longo at the Norfolk office was incredibly understanding about the change in plans, and just wonderfully professional to work with. I have Visiting Angels in my back pocket and will not hesitate to call them again.

We had a mixed experience. Visiting Angels was recommended by several staff members at Sentara…read moreBeach General. We needed 24/7 caregivers on short notice, and after calling multiple services, only Visiting Angels could provide staffing quickly. All the caregivers that they sent were very nice and professional, though their capabilities varied a great deal. The very first person they sent (who worked a double shift), didn't seem to know how to do anything. My father asked for help getting out of bed, and the caregiver didn't know how to lift him properly. He ended up being unable to stand, and dropped back in the bed at an awkward angle. He was too weak to move, and the caregiver didn't know how to shift him in the bed. She called her supervisor, who didn't provide help, and it took the caregiver, myself and my brother (none of whom had experience) to shift my father to a comfortable position. We got a call from Visiting Angels the next morning apologizing for what happened, but they sent the same person back again less than a week later. By that point my father was comatose and close to death, but she still struggled with simple tasks like changing his diaper. I'm not sure how she would have managed if my brother and I had not been there to help out. None of the other caregivers we got were that bad, though one did fall into a pretty deep sleep (had to be shaken awake). The reason this review is 3 stars instead of 1 is that one caregiver in particular was fantastic. Janet made sure my father was clean, changed his bed, and went well beyond the call of duty on her shifts. She was also there when my father passed, and we really appreciated her comfort and professionalism through a difficult time.

I will say I have been to other companies however they care. Quality of life is the most important part of professionalism when caring for anyone's loved one. When they call I must say the office always offers to explain and match the right caregiver to the right client to meet healthy boundaries and relationships. Families trust us to come into their homes to provide the best care and love just as if they were our family. When I went for my interview dignity and respect were felt at the table I immediately asked when I started this is a family-oriented agency and they care so if anyone wants their loved one taken care of, or just needs conversation, or a person to smile to say "Good Morning" Mom mom please take the time and join Visiting Angels for the love respect dignity and care caregivers. I know in this program they say it's hard to build that bond, but remember respect goes far and that could be your loved one. Everyone at Visiting Angels treats everyone just like family, and they listen and address all concerns. I am proud to be an Angel.

The aides care fir my mother as if she were their own, and you can't ask for more than that. She feels they are like family and is very comfortable, well attended to and looked out for. They are also a good advocate for your parent when you can't be there. I couldn't possibly recommend them more highly. In my book they are a 5-Plus!!!

The nursing home with availability was very unfavorable so we were referred to Next Consulting (Tom) for care options and he suggested a residential care home which we were not very familiar with. To gave us several options with availability so we chose Sunflowers Caring Hands because if the location and they had room for one more resident. We set up a mtg with Andrea (owner) who is wonderful and she gave us a tour and went to hospital to meet and assess mom. The transition from the hospital was flawless and smooth. Let me tell you that this place was a blessing waiting for mom. They provide the best care that she could ever get, and she deserves it. They treat the residents and their families like their own family...it is a home away from home. Mom was able to get her PT and OT setup and did not have to go offsit. They have a servicing physician if/when needed that provides all medical needs, tests, well checks, blood work etc. The home is always clean; the residents are well fed, they continuously loved and nurtured and get the best personalized care 24/7. The home is full of love? They have all become our extended family.
