I advised them that when I also realized they were charging me 2.99 for record retention. I was told that by the service manger it's to pay for the cloud. Well yesterday I took it in for fluid flushed rear and transmission. I was advised in a video their records indicated I needed a timing belt. I called and they said they had no record of it being done so I brought them in the original invoice from 2021. I had a very nice discussion with the General Manager who assured me he put it in my records. To add insult to injury with their 2 time computer mistake I was charged the 2.99 for record retention. I think they need to pay me for my record retention. It's not the 2.99 but I don't think that should be placed onto the customer. It's an operating cost for them. As you can see it's not worth 2.99. Please review your records before going to this dealership. I would have put out over 2500.00 of unnecessary work. Will be using their competitors in the future. No trust left after 13 years. His web site stated he has a car-fax on every car. He doesn't. I am 3,000 miles away, so we agreed we should have an independent inspection performed. However, he has a hot buyer and would require a $1,000 deposit. It is a good thing we had the inspection as he hadn't disclosed many problems. He didn't think it was important to tell me that the tire pressure light was on, that the bumper had touchup paint on it, that there was a chip in the windshield, the right side mirror was lose, that the car pulled to the right while driving, that the front right tire was a mismatch, that there are many chips and dents on the exterior, and many other things. When I told him that all these problems did not warrant the price he was asking and to refund my deposit, he did not do that. Turns out there have been 4 owners of the car. The tires were at 5/32 and would require changing soon. Replacing expired tire sensors would cost even more money.
