I got there, they have no office, there is a big sign for Avis on rt9 and you pull into the parking lot and it's a mechanic shop. So I go to the counter and say I have a reservation for a rental. The owner goes no Avis is in there, I turn around and he points at a closet with no sign on the door or anything. I walk into a 6'x6' closet and there is a lady with her head down sleeping on a folding table with a 40 year old computer. I wake her up and she was visibly angry didn't even greet me or anything. I give her the reservation number, she starts typing for an hour then starts cursing and screaming. I asked what happened she said the system crashed she had to redo it. Finally she finishes the reservation, she tells me there's a $350 security deposit. There is not supposed to be any additional charges, I paid in full on the website and I used a major credit card, plus it was a $30 a day rental Kia not a luxury car. However at this point every other place was closed and it was the weekend so I paid it and took the car. I had a 5 day rental and was planning on extending, they had my card on file and my phone number. I kept the car 2 extra days, never received a call or charged to my card. The second day I get a call from a random number, it is a loss prevention officer from the regional Avis office saying that they are reporting the car stolen if I don't return it today. I explained to him I never received a phone call from anyone and that I didn't want any issues of course I would take the car back that day after work. He said that's weird, in the file it says they called you 10 times and no answer. He looks it up and they had the wrong phone number, I drop off the car and send him a picture of the car at the office with the date and time. Case closed... or so I thought. 2 weeks later I open my credit card app and see a $3,000 charge from Avis. The credit card I gave only had a $500 limit. This wasn't a major credit card company like Amex, it's one of those small companies that give credit cards to people with bad credit at high interest so you can build your credit. I immediately call them and ask how the hell they let a $3,000 charge go through when the limit is only $500?!?!? Apparently rental companies and hotels can force charges through in case of damage. But there was no damage!!!!! My credit card company couldn't refund the charge or even investigate unless I sent a notorized letter to them and it would still take 30 days or they said call Avis. We all know they weren't going to reverse it. I'm a small business owner and it was in the middle of the pandemic I didn't have an extra $3,000 laying around to pay it and fight it later. Long story short the credit card company closed my account for non payment plus my credit score went down 200 points because I was using $3,000 credit with only $500 available. I finally got my credit good again and got approved for a credit card after years and all because of these idiots I'm back to square one. Hold on that's not the worst part!!!! 6 months later I get a call from a collections company saying I owe $12,000 for damages to Avis. This is on top of the $3,000 they already charged me and got paid. Thank god for the women I spoke to.... I explained what happened to her and she goes let me look into this and I'll call you back. 5 minutes later I get a call back and she said we are dropping the case for the damages... she went through the file, there was 3 months between when I dropped the car off and when it was taken to the shop for repairs.. there was 400 miles put on the car in between that time as well... also I never even received an invoice or bill for the original $3,000 I was charged. She said they had me down for 33 day rental when I only had it 7 days.. ok $50 per day at 33 days... still only $1,600?!? How do you get $3,000... she goes they have a $1,000 charge for miscellaneous with no explanation. Miscellaneous $1000 charge?!??? Then another $400 for fees with no explanation. This place is an absolute joke, if you read this whole story you should be as appalled as I am. This completely illegal and this company should be ashamed of how a paying customer was treated. Please do yourself a favor and don't ever rent a car from them because this could happen to you. They single handedly ruined my life.

So that was the first problem then when it comes to giving him the 3,500 I was having issues with my bank and personal issues were I couldn't give him the money the next day which I let him know. Then the other day I went to get gas and my card got declined so i went to my bank and found out that they took money out of my account without asking/ telling/ warning me ! As far as I know u need someone's permission to take there money and if u take it without there knowledge thats stealing ! Last issue I had was a couple data ago I was driving and hurd a weird vibrating and stretching noise so I take it to my mechanic and let's just say my bill was close to $500 fixing everything that was wrong with it ! Oh and i forgot to mention yesterday I came across another issue the AC on the driver side dosnt work but the AC on the passenger side does ! So needless to say I was pissed off ! But, they were able to approve me and I was able to drive the car home that day within 30m that's the only good thing about them is that they will approve u fast ! I'm not a liar and i am a honest person so thought I'd throw that out there to give them credit were it was needed hense the 2 star rating instead of 1 !!!

The salesperson seemed like he was honest, answering questions and offering up information. We spend a long time doing the paperwork and reviewed with the sales person numerous times where the title should be sent. They confirmed they had it and I saw them write a large note on the file. We were assured that the title would be mailed out as soon as our check cleared their bank. We were given a 30 days temp registration. As we were leaving, the car had been running idle for 15 min and I saw one of the workers filing a reserve. I asked what he was filing and was told windshield washer fluid. We got on the highway and about 20 min in we started to smell antifreeze burning. I called and was told that they had " topped it off and spilled some, not to worry" . We continued the drive home - 2 hours away to find out the reserve was completely empty . There was a hose leaking all over. I had to pay $450 to have it repaired- I was told by the dealer that I would be reimbursed for this since the problem was clearly there when we left since they were filling up the tank. Basically they knew and try to deceive us!!!! Our check cleared their bank after 4 days, I waited 2 weeks and still no title, I reached out and was told " it was mailed yesterday" A week later, still no title. With it now being a Thursday and the temp registration set to expire on Monday, I called again. I was told " oh that went out today, you will definitely receive it by Saturday": The address they sent it to was confirmed as the correct address. Saturday came and Saturday went and no title. I was forced to park the car on the street since I do not have a driveway and got 2 tickets for expired registration. I called the dealer and was told that in fact they had sent the title to address that had absolutely no connection to me!! It was send to a random factory. I was told they would issue another temp registration, get the title to the correct address and reimburse me for the tickets I got at their fault.. After 5 more phone calls, I did get the temp registration and a week later the title...I never got a single return phone call or response to my certified letter to follow on the money they promised to reimburse. DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!! THEY APPEAR TO BE HELPFUL BUT WHEN YOU LEAVE GAME OVER
