This has been my neighborhood market since I was like seven years old! I recently visited again when I was in town. I see they are renovating and making improvements. The hot wings are still good. Lot of options in the baked goods/dessert dept. My mom frequently goes there to shop. It's super convenient for her bc it's walking distance. Horrible experience today. One person in particular a woman who stands by the customer service and monitors self check out is rude to customers and employees. she seems to like to embarrass customers and employees in front of everyone. shopped her 25 years spent tens of thousands of dollars will not shop here again.Will shop Shippan location instead. she does not have customer service skills. read more

1.Parking is a mess! Often crowded and entrance is risky damage to your car! 2. Deli dept number system has been busted for a long time. 3.compared to most supermarkets, this is a ghetto. 4. Wow, some people's racism is on full display here in some reviews. I wouldn't call this place 'ghetto' by any means and I've been all over the U.S. and world. Lower income perhaps but it is quite clean and it has what it needs in terms of a grocery store. People complaining about parking...if you're afraid your Tesla is going to get dinged up then go make your way to Whole Foods. I'm sure the parking spaces there have magical protection barriers that you won't get here. We're visiting from out of town and found this grocery store to be small but homey. We felt quite comfortable here. Definitely not an overpriced upscale market so if that's what you're looking for then this isn't it but don't judge this place by the poor reviews. read more

I used to go to this ShopRite when my job relocated me to Stamford. This place was close to my apartment. However, it wasn't walking distance. Hence, it was convenient that it was located right in front of a bus stop. After work, I would drop by here to pick up dinner. The soups were delicious. Also, their rotisserie chickens were to die for. I loved the interactions with the cashiers. I don't know, if it was because that is how people are in the suburbs. However, the first week I moved there, I questioned why they were so friendly. Due to my multiple shopping trips there, I was given a free turkey for Thanksgiving. I definitely miss this store. I would move back to Stamford in a heartbeat for this grocery store. read more

I've spent a bit of time trying to find a decent grocery store. There's nothing yet here in CT that seems to check all the boxes of having good quality produce, good selection, good prices, and easy to find things. This one has the good selection of groceries along with the good prices. The produce is ... OK. I bought a bag of onions here and had to toss quite a few of them out as they ended up being overripe. They have a pretty good selection of deli and ready to eat foods -- better potato salad than Fairway, for example. They really could use a remodel/reorganize - there are random alcoves of products, and the overall layout is messy. Still, the cashiers are friendly, and this is an overall more homey and neighborhood feeling store. read more

This is the best Supermarket in the Tri-State area I'm a limo driver I go NY-NJ-CT always And here in my own town are the best for less, speed at the cashiers, management in a second, security and police outside, friendly and nice No one can beat their prices, if one day cost few cents more, the next week is less than half, there is always a sale. read more

Parking is really bad, but this is the best supermarket in the area. Their sales are better than competitors, nearly everything is in stock and they are fully staffed. Also, one of the best hot bars. Highly recommend the meatball parm sandwiches. Anybody whining about this place should go to a minimally staffed Stop and Shop and pay 15-25 percent more for the same groceries. Quite frankly, I'd prefer to go to any other grocery store in the area besides here. When you walk in, you are hit with a strong scent of baby powder and it's very strange. It carries on over to the produce section, gives me a headache, and makes me want to rush out of the produce area ASAP even though that's my go-to area. I must say the prices in Grade A ShopRite are pretty cheap compared to other grocery stores in Stamford, but this particular location appears to be pretty dirty and disorganized that I'd rather pay extra in other stores for a better experience. Honestly, it's so hard to find things that should be easy to find in a typical ShopRite. I usually go here when I'm desperate for groceries since it's by my workplace, but I've discovered the larger ShopRite in Stamford off of Selleck very recently, and I recommend that location over this one. There is more variety over there too and better laid out. Sorry Grade A, you're more like a Grade C- in my mind: enough to get by, but not enough to pass for a better rating from me. read more

Went to the store to buy baby back ribs today. Went to the meat counter no help there but only sa about a half rack left. Went over to the meat department where they had ribs ore okg so I thought if get one of them looked through them chose a pkg I thought should be great WRONG when I got home unfolded them all there was scraps the last 4 inches of the rack was nothing but a big fatty flap. Called the store complained offered me a refund doesn't do me any good today! DONT BUY PRPKG MEAT FROM THERE YOU DONT KNOW WHATS UNDERNEATH THEY DHOULD HAVE OFFERED TO DELIVER A NEW RACK!!!! read more

I decided to try Shoprite Home and placed an order on Saturday using Saturday sale prices. I scheduled delivery for Sunday and was charged Sunday prices. Many items were no longer on sale. No where on the website did it state that the prices may change. This caused my order to be an additional $30. Also, their fees, etc are outrageous...totaling $16.95. Needless to say, I will never use this service again and plan to shame Shoprite on Facebook, Instagram, etc. Buyer beware. read more

This ShopRite is OUTSTANDING. The culture and atmosphere is excellent. I love the music they play which is typically 50s music as it is non-offensive. Every time I visit and have been here looking for something, someone will approach me and help me find what I need. I find their produce fresh, their bakery is very good as well as the meats. It seems that they offer produce from local farms which I like very much. And, they have an attendant outside to help with parking. Last time I visited, the attendant walked me to my car and put my groceries in for me. Very friendly staff and a well organized store. read more

This place is ghetto. There are bums hanging in front entarnce, and the parking lot is a mess. They do however have great lunch specials. You can go to the deli and get a sandwhich on a hero for 5.99, they also have a lot of pre-made stuff there which is also cheap and taste okay as well. prices are okay for grocery shopping as well, its just the prople that shop there that really are annoying. read more

I have two words for this store CUSTOMER SERVICE. This store needs some serious training on how to interact and assist their customers. If it was not for their customers they would not have jobs or a store. I waited to speak to the manager at the customer service desk to overhear a young woman be completely rude and dismissive of a customer who was looking for some napkins. He had an accent and some difficulty in explaining what he was looking for. Instead of being patient and trying to assist him she was rude, dismissive and gave him contradicting information. Additionally, they should take down their express lane signs because how can you expect the customer to follow them when the employees direct people with many more that 20 items in the 5 item lane. The only positive is the young man who was standing out in the rain directing traffic and helping people. He was pleasant, patient and gave everyone a smile. This place needs an overhaul. You pay an arm and a leg and you get food that is spoiled or expired. Most of the time their freezer go out and you are not sure if you are getting food that has been thawed and refroze. The meat section looks like the meat has been their for ages. The fresh vegetables are not so fresh. Most of them are beat up and bruised. Some of the workers are nice but others avoid being around because they see you coming with a boat load of grocery and they don't want to help bag so they disappear. Also, sometimes you buy items and only until you get home you see it has expired. Why are they sticking expired things? It might be convenient to where I live but I am venturing out to Stop and Shop and Fairway. Now these places are worth it. Maybe only grab here and their things in an emergency from them. They need better Management and most off all more selections of good food. Until this is done i will not be valued customer as I have been for years. They sacrifice quality for price. That is where I draw the line. read more
