What can I say about Wegmans, the family owned massive superstores already have a following of…read moredevoted customers that just love shopping there. I think they have more products than any supermarket I've been in, and let's not forget their own brand name goods. Store is meticulous and customer service stellar, they also have an abundance of prepared foods hot and ones already to take home and be cooked. Great bakery, butcher, fish, deli, produce, and a very large selection of gluten free products as well. So glad Long Island finally has a Wegmans to call our own and definitely will be coming back.

The Pros: Great prices & selection: The prices are very fair, especially for the incredible variety and quality they carry. Friendly staff: Overall, the customer service throughout the store is warm, helpful, and welcoming. We need more on Long Island! Having to travel so far just to get to one is tough--we seriously need more locations opened up across the island to make regular trips easier. The Cons: Salad bar sanitation concern: While by the salad bar, we watched an employee texting on her phone with food-service gloves on, and then she immediately went straight back to prepping food using those exact same gloves without changing them. Cell phones carry so many germs, so seeing that happen at a self-serve/food station was really unappetizing. We brought it up to staff right away, so hopefully management addressed it and retrained on basic food safety protocols. It's still one of the best grocery stores around, but basic glove hygiene and kitchen standards definitely need closer attention at the prepared food stations!

A trip to Whole Foods offers a familiar and reliable bounty: aisles of health-conscious products,…read morevibrant organic produce, and an impressive range of prepared foods like pizza, sushi, and a sprawling salad bar. However, the premium quality comes with an equally premium price tag, a reality that has persisted, and perhaps even intensified, since its acquisition by Amazon. For the savvy shopper, there are still ways to navigate the costs. Keen attention to pricing, coupled with strategic use of Amazon Prime discounts and in-store sales, can help balance the ledger. Ultimately, the store's unique draw lies in its exclusive selection; there are certain specialty items you simply won't find anywhere else, making it a necessary stop for certain needs. Our family has found a practical rhythm: we always begin our shopping at the Trader Joe's across the street. After surveying their selection and prices, we then visit Whole Foods for those few, special items we can't get elsewhere. This approach makes the added effort, and expense, feel worthwhile. Despite the undeniable cost, shopping at the Lake Grove location remains a valuable way to support and enrich a healthy lifestyle, especially for those living on Long Island's East End. It's a curated experience, one where careful planning can turn a luxury stop into a sustainable part of your routine.

Don't bother to call in orders. The management is not doing…read morethat job instructing the pickers for the orders. Every time we get fruit and vegetables, it's damaged, rotten or soft. There's no point of using the service you might as well pick the food out yourself not to mention some of the fruit especially the halos and other oranges are horrible and tasting bland. They don't do a quality check, they don't test the vegetables to see how they are. They just sell them that's all they care about.

My shopping trip on 4/13/26 felt more like a scavenger hunt designed by someone who doesn't…read moreactually want the items to be found. I came in for the advertised "Celebration Bouquet" for $6.99. When I asked an employee for help, she first told me she had no idea what I was talking about. Only after I mentioned the website did she bother to look it up -- and once she confirmed it existed, she informed me the store didn't carry it. Her helpful solution? That I drive around to other Stop & Shop locations and see if they might have it. No substitution, no effort, nothing. Then I tried to pick up the free 48 oz Blue Diamond Almond Milk. Also unavailable. This time I was told to "keep checking back," as if I have unlimited time to repeatedly visit the store hoping the advertised items eventually materialize. If Stop & Shop expects customers to spend their week traveling from store to store chasing down promotions, it would be great if that were mentioned somewhere. As it stands, the experience was disappointing, unhelpful, and frankly pretty frustrating. I filled out the survey at the bottom of my receipt & requested that someone contact me by email. The survey indicated I would receive a response within 7 business days. Today is 4/26/26, I am fairly certain we are beyond that timeframe---yet another failure on their part.

They offer terrific prices and a large inventory of items on their shelves. From name brands to their own marketed brand. I have to laugh at those complaining here with one and two star reviews. Over the years of shopping at this location we have never experienced anything like they described. The staff is fine and we have never encountered any disrespect. Even when lines are long like today they quickly opened up another register and it moved along fine. Register person was nice and friendly. The store was clean and organized. A few items we wanted were sold out but that was expected on a holiday weekend as we got here late, but we found other things instead. Nothing was moldy or outdated. Produce and meat dept were fine. Bakery area still had plenty to choose from. Is it a perfect supermarket? No, but it's overall much cheaper than most with more than enough to choose from, clean, spacious. No self checkout is the one downside so you just need to chill out and be a bit patient at times, no biggie.

Everything is of good quality, and the manager Kim is very knowledgeable and happy to assist! Just felt like I needed to give a shout out to this particular Lidl on Long Island! It is definitely a very pleasant and non-stressful shopping experience...
