Went here today to do my weekly shopping. I brought the coupons printed in their weekly circular because they were really good deals. I had no problem with the Poland spring coupon but the one for tuttorosso tomatoes (1lb12oz to 1lb 13oz can) did not. When a supervisor or manger came over I was informed the coupon was only for the green can. I have the coupon and it does not mention blue can or green can it only says "crushed, purée, peeled plum, diced or sauce". I was buying 1lb 12oz cans with a blue label. When I pointed this out I was told again it was for green cans only. I asked for a manger but never got to speak to one. I saw at the other Registers the Same discussions going on. This seems like bait and switch and very dishonest. I dumped out my four bags of items (I bring my own bags) and handed them my shoprite car and left the store never to return. So for a couple of dollars they lost a 170 sale and I will never return. I also plan of letting as many people know about this through my social media accounts and will be contacting consumer affairs. Consumers can not be misled o taken advantage of in this Manner. If more of us stood up to these retailers they would stop taking us for granted. We are not sheep! read more

The selection is amazing, I don't think there is anything they don't have. The store is huge & clean. I basically like this store, but the Courtesy desk people have got to be the rudest around. As soon as you approach, they have this attitude that whatever the problem is, you're wrong automatically. This is my second complaint about the same thing. Whenever my wife or myself shop we pay half cash and half credit card, so that if we return anything we would rather have the money refunded instead of putting it on the card, taking it off the card. Its too ridiculous. Today I returned an item and wanted $10 back. I told her I paid cash. As soon as the words left my lips she said 'No you didn't." In essence shes calling me a liar, thinking I'm pulling some kind of stunt. Does she think that I don't know how I paid ? They do the same thing when my wife returns something. Not everybody pays by card. A few of the employees there could use an appearance makeover too, One guy looks like a caveman. Is this what we've come to expect from a food store ? A neat appearance show be the rule, but apparently beards, unkempt hair, rings in noses and purple hair with arms covered in tattoos are the norm......and these are the females. read more

We usually do our shopping here. The store is huge, the prices are okay, and they have a decent selection. The reason I only gave the store 3 stars is the parking lot. It's a zoo. It's crowded and the shoppers are oblivious and inconsiderate. I always leave annoyed over something that happened in the parking lot. The last time I was there a woman was loading her grocery bags into the back seat of her car. I am assuming her trunk no longer opens.. She is chit chatting with her friend who was smoking a cigarette in a motorized cart (classy). They were blocking my car. When they realized, they got annoyed with me. Meanwhile there was no car parked next to her on the other side. Like really? I don't run into any issues in the Target, Costco, A&P, or Pathmark parking lots. Just Shop Rite's. There are days when I know I have to go there and I'll go elsewhere because I won't have the energy to deal with that parking lot. read more

People should have to wear full body suits to shop here. Canned goods are okay to buy, I guess, but anything else I would stay away from. Dirty, disgusting floors, stained shelves, and nasty produce holders. I would not have the people in the meat department wash my car. The clientele would also provide the perfect supporting cast for a zombie movie set in a trailer park. read more

Love Shop Rite bakeries. Honest to God, their cannolis are as good as most Italian bakeries. Their sfogliatelli are good too. Oh, and if you can get a "lobster claw" from the bakery, they do those pretty well, too. They sell these "pull apart" cakes, which is basically just a cake made up of cupcakes. They even have whipped cream as an option for the icing (you know, as opposed to gross butter cream icing crap), which a lot if grocery store bakeries don't. Overall, a solid bakery. read more
