I was getting different sizes/colors for my mom and grandmother in the fitting rooms and putting back clothes. I overheard remarks from one of your workers, and her also saying that we were spending so much time in the fitting rooms, were making a huge mess and leaving her to clean it up, and that we would not be able to afford everything we were getting. This was not only hurtful but entirely unfounded, as we were respectful customers and neatly put back everything we tried on. The worker's remarks were overheard by another individual, who said, "I don't care, at least they're spending money." While we appreciate the sentiment of valuing customers, it was disheartening to feel dismissed and devalued in such a manner. As loyal customers, we were taken aback by this behavior and felt deeply disheartened by the lack of professionalism displayed. We believe that every customer should be treated with respect and kindness, regardless of the circumstances. We saw her side eyeing us and looking us up and down as we were being checked out, and she even had the audacity to come over to our cash register to try to hear the total. Thank you to the kind worker who was checking us out, for she realized what was happening and said our total quieter. I also wanted to say that I pay YOUR bills with the money I spend at your store. You should treat everyone with utmost respect, no matter what they spend, or how much money they have. I wanted to bring this incident to your attention in the hopes that it will be addressed appropriately. The stuff here is absolutely amazing the first day that I came here I needed to get a cardigan for an upcoming trip to Washington DC when I arrived at the J.Crew a very friendly employee greeted me and asked me if she could help me I told her that I needed to purchase a cardigan for my trip and I cannot find any store around the area that has any cardigans in stock she told me that she didn't know if they had any cardigan stock but she was going to check for me. She ended up coming back with a medium cardigan and it was a perfect fit I was so happy she asked me if I wanted to try it on but I told her no I will take it she brought it up to the front register for me and told the girl at the register that I would be purchasing this. The only thing that isn't so well maintained would have to be the restrooms in the food court. The food court is also quite small and only has a limited selection, which is one of the biggest reasons that I have to give this mall a four star review only. Not only that, but a majority of the food court seems to now be occupied by an empty store. Why they don't attempt to re-open more food locations is beyond me. However, despite what I said about the food court, the Chinese buffet in the mall is excellent, so definitely be sure to check it out if you're going up there. All in all, this is a very well maintained mall that is worth the visit if you're nearby.

Finding an entrance to the mall is a challenge for the neophyte. But the mall is home to Mayhem Amusements Arcade which has some solid pinball machines. There is something kind of beautiful about these decaying palaces of commerce in this era of late stage capitalism. I can't quite put my finger on it. For someone who grew up going to shopping malls in the 1980s it's kind of like walking through a Bruce Springstein song. It is hard to comprehend the juxtaposition of decay and scrappy mom-and-pop stores with the few remaining national and international retailers who maintain slick storefronts in the building despite all odds. Go for the pinball. Stay for the weirdness. Eat elsewhere. And be careful of the potholes. I do hope Wyoming Valley mall is able to pull itself out of its death spiral. Little is sadder to a kid from the 80s than a dead mall. But of course we also know that nothing lives forever. For that matter, who wants to live forever?

I had to buy a gift while in town and had a 15% off email coupon as well, so it was time to spend a few bucks and get good deals on clothing and merchandise. The cashiers were helpful and scanned in a coupon for me when I showed them the screen. This store is huge and has two floors of just about everything. The mall has been kept alive by Boscov's all these years and it's a great place to shop. The mall, maybe not so much. At least there's free 3 hour validated parking in the underground garage with an elevator and escalator directly into the store.
