Boscov's consistently has some of the best priced men's clothing anywhere and at all of their stores. I had to buy a gift while in town and had a 15% off email coupon as well, so it was time to spend a few bucks and get good deals on clothing and merchandise. The cashiers were helpful and scanned in a coupon for me when I showed them the screen. This store is huge and has two floors of just about everything. The mall has been kept alive by Boscov's all these years and it's a great place to shop. The mall, maybe not so much. At least there's free 3 hour validated parking in the underground garage with an elevator and escalator directly into the store. read more

The other day I asked a worker there where to find something, and she brought me around and showed me. I told her I was moving into my first apartment, and she was so sweet. She suggested other things I might need that I hadn't thought about. I felt like she was my own mother telling what I should/shouldn't buy and making sure I had everything! She recommended certain brands and overall was very pleasant to speak with. I noticed her name tag said Karen. So, thank you Karen!! Also, this place is super inexpensive. read more

I can't say enough good about this store...Prices are fabulous.. And I just had the occasion to call the curtains department needing more of some drapes that I purchased in store... I was helped by a gracious and most helpful associate...Who searched down the curtains, and is shipping them to me right away... Boscov's is one of the more popular department stores in Scranton. The store is located at Steamtown Mall. It's the biggest attraction at Steamtown in my opinion. Boscov's has an assortment of items for customers (clothing, shoes, house items, jewelry, chocolates, etc). The store is usually well stocked. Prices are reasonable for most items. Customer service is usually good. There is a lot of parking outside the store (parking deck at mall). Boscov's is a good choice for department store shopping in Scranton. I give Boscov's a 3.5 rating rounded up to a 4. read more

This review is for what Al Boscov refers to as "honest pricing that delivers honest value." Many products here are priced higher than their manufacturer's suggested retail price - which Boscov's refers to as the "ticketed price" - then placed on "sale" for the MSRP. I have always liked this store and find good deals and lots of selections. The kitchen and housewares has a great selection if you love to cook and bake with gadgets you generally don't see in other stores. I have purchased everything here from clothes and jewelry to appliances and furniture and have always been happy with my purchases. There are usually always sales or discounts, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I hope they survive the mall closing and think they'd do better in a new location, preferably staying in the Scranton area. read more

For over 15 years my wife and I, and our extended families have shopped at this location. We have always appreciated the brands and low prices. But because of an incident recently, I will be cutting up our Boscov's card, paying off the balance and will never shop here again. My wife and I had received a coupon and decided to take our two younger children here to shop for new summer clothes. We have 5 children, so it feels nice when you're able to get out to do something special for them. They were very excited as they we're trying on their outfits. I think I was even more excited because this was the first time I personally had taken my 10 year old son to do something like this. It was getting close to closing time so I told my wife as she continued to look around. A lady at a sales desk said that she could start checking us out so I went over. I noticed that she seemed annoyed being there. My wife walked up as we were finishing and handed the employee our coupon. "A Coupon!" she snapped on us "If you're using a coupon I have to start all over!" she yelled. "Everything has to come back out of the bags!" My wife tried to ask why and the employee snapped "I have to scan the coupon after evveery single item!" The employee was red in the face and literally trembling with anger. My wife said "We didn't know that". Being short with my wife the employee snapped "oh yeah", then turned to the people behind us annoyed and said "You're going to have to go somewhere else to check out, this is going to take waayyy too long". As the people started to leave they looked at us with sympathy. Annoyed, I turned to the woman and said "If it's that big of an issue we'll just pay full price". "Well you can't now" she snapped even more annoyed "I've already voided everything out!" She continued to shake with anger. Completely mortified I looked at her and said "You have no right to embarrass us in front of people like this". She didn't even acknowledge me as she kept her head down angrily yanking items back out of the bag. I was furious and had to walk away. I asked my wife if she could stay to pay for everything. But had to come back because the employee wouldn't let my wife use my Boscov's card. My wife did tell someone in Management before leaving. This employee made a huge scene humiliating us in front of our children and total strangers. We will not be back. read more

I went to boscovs store in wilkes barre to purchase a grill that was advertized to be on sale for $99 and when i arrived there was informed that the add had a misprint and they would not sell the grill at the advertized price. I personally will never look at their sales adds again if they will not stick to the price that is advertized !!!!! What a waste of gas and time !!!!!!! extremely displeased . read more

The only reason I don't give this a 5 is because it's in the Steamtown mall. Boscov's maybe the best store in the area with the most affordable prices. BEWARE of Boscov's policy when buying from their discount/ clearance section of their furniture. Paid over $1000 for a sectional 8 months ago. When it was delivered they did not even ship the leg for the one piece, but got them after fighting with the clerk at the location. Within 3 months The American Furniture Sectional ripped at a seam where the back connects to the pillow. call Boscov's Customer service department and they told me that there is no warrenty for clearance items. This was never stated to me at the store or i would have bought on some place else for about $200 dollars more with a Warranty. Their sales Slip States "Furniture is covered by manufacture's warranty which will repair the product to the manufacture's standards." It also states "clearance as is no returns". i DID NOT WANT THIS RETURNED I WANTED IT FIX TO MANUFACTURER'S STANDARDS. BOSCOV'S will do nothing to fix this problem.
