Now, Sun Diego Boardshop resides there and today I walked in for the first time and my mind is blown. This place is a massive clothing store! The staff was grooving to CSNY and Steely Dan. The beach vibe is at high tide. Service is outstanding, with Lance, Charlie, and their cool boss Ella. I bought a pair of black dungaree shorts and they are as nice an' comfy as Levi's, for about $45. They also sell surfboards and ukuleles too. And dozens more inside. -if you break it you buy it. -must leave your backpack at the front counter. -young visitors must be with an adult while in the store. -no food or drink. -you will be arrested if you shoplift. -all activities monitored by close circuit, television and undercover security -credit card processing fee 3% (Jackhole policy btw) -no pets within 10 feet of the front door -no smoking in the building - no public restroom ( so you want people to shop and spend money, but if they have to take a pee, they can't do it?! Jerks) -etc etc blah blah blah Many other stores in town appreciate business but don't leave such a horrible first impression with so many signs as you enter. Treating customers like this doesn't make them feel welcome. The kids and I quickly left. There were sea life, such as sea turtles, those vintage cars (that held surf boards, the ones with the wood panels). We bought one. It is bright and colorful. The magnets were $4.99 and under. This is a small store, but it is stocked well and has some womens clothing that actually caught my eye. I saw a thin light La Jolla logo hoodie at $30 and a La Jolla logo heavy winter fleece hoodie at $50. I don't normally consider clothing like this, but they were really cute. (Hubby thinks I have too much.) There were t-shirts and other things, but I didn't really look at them in detail. The clerk was nice. No other customers besides us. There are a lot of little shops in the area, more competition.
