When I returned two days later to return an item, that same employee sat behind the "returns" sign and said "how could i possibly help you"? My facial expression prompted her to explain that she's the bank and that i was in the wrong line. Another employee saw the interaction and took my items to return. I emailed a picture of my check and credit card to the store manager. No response of any kind.

Be waned though, they are old school, they only accept cash or check, they have an old school register and don't accept credit cards. I have bought some really nice black powder revolvers from them before, when I was becoming legal age to buy a gun several years ago, they taught me everything I needed to know about black powder stuff and gave me the supplies I needed. I'm itching to go back some time soon.

About 2 yrs ago I took a 21 yr old female dear friend of ours from Sweden out to Dead Zero. She had…read morenever seen, held, or fired a gun. My promise to her was if she would go to the range with me, I promised her opinions and thoughts about guns would be completely different. I spent a couple of hours with her teaching gun safety, how to load, shoot...etc. She had no concept of self-defense as Sweden will jail the homeowner that injures or kills their home invader. After several hours, Ida is now a staunch believer in our 2A and loves shooting guns. Every visit she wants to know when are we going to the range. Dead Zero was very professional and enthusiastic with this Swedish visitor and at that time she was the visitor that traveled the farthest to visit. I make a few trips there each year and love their set-up. Want a nice outdoor range with stations at multiple different lengths, visit them.

Don's range is exactly what I've been looking for! B and B is a place for adults - shooters who…read moreknow what they're doing and don't want to deal with arbitrary nonsense rules that many ranges have in place. As long as you follow the cardinal rules of firearm safety, you'll fall in love with B and B just like I did. As far as the range itself, Don has built multiple ranges, each with steel targets, paper target holders, and plenty of spots to line up other kinds of bullet-worthy items (soda cans, plastic bottles, pumpkins, or whatever else you care to bring). There are AR500 steel plates at each range and there are also target devices on hand that you can use (target trees, pepper poppers, etc). The short range is ~30 meters, the medium range I believe goes up to 175 meters, and there is a third range (which I didn't get to see because of really wet weather) which I believe goes up to 250 meters. The setup lends itself to shooting from all sorts of places (behind cover, from the woods, etc) and from any position you can imagine. The setup truly is great and Don has clearly used his military experience to put together a fantastic, very practical range that beats anything else in the area as far as letting you hone your skills and getting to know your tools. And he has awesome additions in the works as well so I can't wait to get back. To wrap it up, this ain't some high-faluten indoor gun range with a bar & grille and safe-queen ARs on the wall for sale - this is a range for those of us who want to get down to business. The only downside I can think of is that B and B will ruin all other ranges for you because they just won't be able to compare to what B and B offers.

The range has wooden stands you provide the targets and supplies to hang the target (stapler, tape, pins etc.). While we were there a guy had a homemade metal rail he staked in the ground and used steel targets attached to it very smart idea. There is no range officer so this is run on the honor system. Everyone works together to announce when the range is cold or hot. I found the fellow shooters to be very helpful and courteous. Keep in mind the range is up a dirt road on the mountain. That being said I actually saw a Prius in the parking lot. We had a great time!

I do need to say though the terrain is pretty hilly and there was a fair number of holes so watch your step, but I was warned of this ahead of time. I'm fairly new to wing shooting and different outfitters, but the experience I had that day was beyond my expectations. I hunted as a single and there were 22 birds flushed, several doubles and a triple. Ashley was an amazing guide and her two GLP's really were great and able to hold point while we caught up. Her flushing cocker Boss was a machine who would not stop and was a hoot to watch. My only real issue was also with the signage, Barnsley was not real clear where the facility was located, and I was getting stressed as I felt like I was running late, when I called for directions it kept going to the outpost number and they weren't picking up, so, the day started a bit stressful. I think I see clays in my future.
