Growing up back in the Shoney's "Big Boy" days, I wondered what the restaurant (inside, food, etc) was like? Wow! Was I surprized when I finally stopped in to eat with my family! The restaurant (& restroom) was one of the cleaniest I've seen in a long time. Our server was very polite and attentive. The buffet (included items in several food bars) was the normal Shoneys buffet. I did like the ham was not the thin cut (cut in pieces/chunks). Overall, the food was good. So, parents of UTK students living around or near the restaurant I sugguest you give it a try. Way less crowded weekends of a home game and the food isn't bad for the money.

    Breakfast of champions.

It was more packed than I had ever seen (I'm guessing due to the holiday). We got there and were told 35-45 minutes and given a beeper. We went to sit in the car since there wasn't really anywhere else to sit. Working five minutes of getting to the car the beeper went off so we shut the car off, got out, locked it and went through parking to the front hostess area. They looked at the beeper and the list and told us they made a mistake so back to the car we went. About 30 minutes later the beeper went off and we were seated near the bar in the last booth by where everyone goes in and out of the bar. Or waited came out and took our drink order and my son had noticed the shark bite cocktail so we asked if they could make a virgin drink. It was horrible. So sweet he couldn't drink it at all. I tried it and agreed. It tasted like a slightly tart sugar water. We didn't complain because we did ask for the drink. Then we ordered our meals. My son got the Gator plate with fries which was perfect and he loves. I ordered 1 1/2 lbs of snow crab legs in a garlic butter sauce (which amounts to 3 clusters). It came with three sides since I ordered an extra half pound. Potatoes, corn and sausage. The seafood bread was amazing! If you go make sure to try it!!! Our meals were brought out. As I mentioned my sons was perfect. I noticed mine wasn't as hot as usual and figured as busy as they were it sat for a bit longer before being brought to the table. I've been eating crab all my life so I'm not new to how to eat it or remove the shells to get to the meat. As I carefully tried to snap the shells, they weren't breaking as they should and there was no getting any meat at all from the first two smaller sections. In the larger sections they wouldn't crack. Tried to use the metal crackers but it just squished it. I used the plastic tool which didn't work ands then used the metal fork. The meat wouldn't come out. It was completely stuck to the inside of the shell where I had to scrape it out with my fingernails. The claws were just add bad. I still kept trying while waiting on the waitress. When she got there I asked how they were cooked and she told me boiled in extremely hot water with fire. I told her what was going on so she went and got gloves and started trying to break my crab open. She wasn't able to get them out either so she went and told the manager. By that time I was done messing with them. He came over and I again explained what was going on. He offered me more cream or a discount. I should've taken the crab and brought them home but I chose the discount. I bagged up the two clusters to bring home to attempt to finish cooking them in hopes they'd be edible. When I got the bill, $7.00 was talked off for over $55 of crab. I felt extremely insulted. That didn't even cover my son's horrible drink but was supposed to make my Mother's Day meal better? We really loved this place but now I don't know if I'll go back. I'm not one of those people that complains all the time. I'm pretty sure if my husband was with me we wouldn't have gotten treated like that. Just an update, I steamed the legs and they came out perfect! I wish I had brought the rest home and just did it myself but since I paid for cooked crab legs I figured that's what I was going to get.

Brazeiros Knoxville is a full-throttle Brazilian meat parade that just quietly became the best…read moresteakhouse in East Tennessee; fight me if I'm wrong. You walk in and it's instant vacation mode: warm Brazilian music, gauchos in full regalia sharpening swords like gladiators, and that glorious smell of beef, pork, and fire that hits you in the chest. Flip your coaster to green and the onslaught begins; flip it to red only if you're weak or lying to yourself. The picanha is absolute perfection: juicy, rosy, with that salty-charred fat cap that makes grown adults moan out loud. The filet mignon (both plain and bacon-wrapped) melts like Wagyu butter. The garlic beef is aggressively delicious, the lamb chops are minted and smoky, and the house-special Alcatra top sirloin keeps coming until you beg for mercy. Don't you dare sleep on the grilled pineapple; it's caramelized cinnamon-sugar magic that resets your palate for another round. The gourmet bar alone is worth the price of admission: giant wheels of Parmesan, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto roses, smoked salmon, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, and a feijoada station with all the fixings. The hot sides (crispy polenta, garlic mashed potatoes, blackened plantains) keep rolling out like they're trying to bankrupt you in the best way. Cocktails? The caipirinhas are made with real cachaça and fresh lime that'll make you question every watered-down version you've ever had. The wine list has big South American reds ready to stand up to the meat storm, and the passion-fruit mojito is summer in a glass. Service is pure Southern hospitality with Brazilian swagger; gauchos remember your favorites, keep the good cuts coming, and treat every table like it's a celebration. Even when it's slammed on a Saturday night, everything flows like a well-oiled machine. Yes, it's all-you-can-eat premium protein, but it never feels chain-restaurant or rushed; it feels like you've been invited to a Brazilian family's backyard cookout that happens to have air-conditioning and an endless supply of filet. Knoxville, you didn't know you needed a rodizio this good, but now that Brazeiros is here, nothing else will ever be enough. Birthdays, date nights, post-game feasts, or just "I deserve this today"; every occasion feels bigger here. I walked in hungry and left three hours later in the happiest food coma of my life, already texting friends to clear their weekend. Obrigado, Brazeiros. You've ruined me for regular steakhouses forever, and I'm 100% here for it. See you next Friday; card flipped to green and staying there.
