One of the best spots in warwick to eat. Watch a nice little show as you get hibachi style service with a smile always. There's a few really good guys that work there. Owners son is one of them. He's outstanding! One new kid spilled a drink all over wife one time and stained her drink. If every an issue call the owner. They will take care of it. Garlic noodles everyone recommends a major disappointment. Wife had sushi, she was not impressed. Said "taste like nothing" not a good sign. It was ok, but won't be coming back. Who serves a ball of white rice that tastes like sh**? This is my second hibatchi place ive gone to and never again! At mount fuji you get great service as you walk in the door. Your seated the grill is clean, plates are clean, water is given, waitress is experienced! For hibatchi same price as shogun except great fried rice included or some of white no extra charge, great veggies, shrimp, great salad and soup!!! $3.50 for real noodles! I typically only come here for special occasions because of the prices. This trip cost the 5 of us just over $300. We all shared an order of rice and garlic noodles, and each had our own dishes, nothing ridiculous. As always, the food is pretty good and loved the entertainment. Our chef today (I missed his name, but it wasn't Soli or Odi) was great, probably the best I've seen by far. He even went out of his way to specially prepare my dish when all I asked was that he keep the fat on my steak. The waitresses were great, all friendly and helpful. After trying most of the other hibachi places in the area, my husband and I decided to give Shogun a try for my 30th birthday. We made a reservation for 9 and were seated as soon as we walked in by an extremely friendly hostess and 2 smiling waitresses. My husband wanted to order a Tsing Tao, which they don't carry, but the friendly and helpful waitress recommended another beer he might like more and she was right! After about 4-5 minutes 2 other couples were seated with us and we were served our soup, then salad. The soup was fantastic and the salad was good, if slightly over dressed. Then the "show" started, out chef was very good... he was funny, engaging, and most importantly, made delicious food. He made a few small mistakes, but he played them off and it was pretty funny, even if I did get showered on shrimp tails. I don't like shrimp, but I gave his a chance and actually loved it! We had ordered the garlic noodles and they were to die for. Honestly, I liked them as much as I liked the filet mignon, which was also outstanding. Special. Our chef must have heard me mention to my husband that this was one of the best birthday dinners ever because when everyone was done eating 3 of the waitresses came out with drums and tambourines to sing happy birthday and give each of the couples at our table a fried ice cream sundae! I loved that they even put a candle in mine, it made me feel pretty special. Overall, we had an amazing dinner and a great show, the restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. It was a great dinner and we'll be back soon, it was slightly pricey (just about $100 after tip) but totally worth it. read more

The food and performance of the chefs are on par for a hibachi restaurant. The prices are a little steep for what you get. The primary reason for the two star rating above is due to the fact that, after spending several hundred dollars on drinks, apps, dinner, and dessert for 5 adults and 3 kids, we were told by the hostess that they "needed the table" while we were still eating dessert and having tea. This is the second time a similar scenario has played out at this establishment. Actually, the previous year, staff began wrapping up my family's food while I was STILL EATING DINNER. We thought it was a fluke, but after our recent experience, it seems to be the M.O. When your meal is done, expect them to wrap up your food, drop the check in your lap, and start setting the table for the next party. decent americanized japanese in an area that doesn't seem to really need it. built in a little cluster with applebee's and some other average spots, it may be revered better by association which is good for them. Onion tower Choo-Choo train was cool, my kids loved it. Wife loved the sake martinis. Some very nice hits, but overall just OK for me. mustard sauce not as good as it could be, something I live for in these type of places, just too bland. Maybe I'm being a tough critic, went to a place called Sakura in CT this weekend when visiting family, blew me away. I'll give it another shot though, good for families. read more

The firecracker sushi roll is die for. Pair it with the purple dragon hot saki and you've got a perfect combo. I've been coming here for years since my family took up the tradition of hibachi on New Year's Eve when I was younger- to being a sushi lover these days. You're not going to encounter a friendlier and more efficient staff than you do coming to this place (writing this review primarily from the sushi side of the restaurant). They go out of their way to remember you and be personable. It's hard to come by a place these days that keeps you coming back and truly demonstrates an appreciation for your business. A friend and I were vacationing from Maine, and we drove past this restaurant on the way to our hotel. I checked it out on Yelp, and we decided to check it out due to the good reviews. The portion sizes were massive! The scallops were to die for. The rice was flavorful and the drinks potent. We had a very nice chef, he didn't do the whole "show" but that's not really why we were there. Another chef seemed to be more boisterous, and everyone around us sounded as if they were having fun. We were half done dinner when one of the sesame seeds on our sushi rolls started moving. It was a bug. It happens but the manager was very dismissive of our complaint and made us feel like she was doing us a favor by taking the roll off our tab. Dinner was over for us. read more

Where do I start with this place, been here a total of three times. The first time was great, the last two times very disappointing. The 2nd time I went, they had a new hibachi chef, who was being trained by one of a longtime chef. Safe to say, it was the kids first time but he is clearly unfit to serve us hibachi. Not only that, there was no compensation for our meal seeing how it took 2 hours to cook us the meal we ordered and in addition to that the experience was lacking. Regardless, I decided to try this place again last weekend. As soon as me and my gf walk in, we are engulfed with clouds of smoke, almost felt like we were sitting in a hot sauna the whole time we ate. The management refused to turn on the A/C and was completely oblivious to the environment. On top of that, our table gets the same chef that was being trained a few months ago and we thought he'd be slightly better but he was clearly unfit for this job. Throwing eggs over his head on the floor, dropping slabs of butter, not cooking the meat as requested (medium-well), and on top of it he remained quiet the whole time. At a hibachi, you pay for the experience the most, the food is an additive. When the chef is quiet the whole time, the meal suddenly isn't worth the 40$ they are trying to charge you. On top of it all, the owner is sitting on the table next to me with his personal chef who is a lot better than the one we received. A true owner would send the good chef over to our table, not some amateur chef who shouldn't even be working as a hibachi chef. Sadly, I will not go here anymore, I'm not gonna spend my hard earned money at a restaurant that is so careless with their customers. I hope this forces a change at Shogun and wakes them up. read more
