Hubby and I had been going here for several years. They have been consistently good and maintained their restaurant. Staff is great and efficient. I love that they added a Happy Hour menu. Our to go food items are seafood combo and sirloin and chicken combo. The sushi selections are good as well. We usually opt dining at the bar but when with family or friends, we like to do the show, and it never fails to entertain. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great teppan in Rancho!

We came for my sister's birthday. There was 14 of us so they had to sit us at two separate tables across from each other. This would have been fine if they would have had two chefs working our tables at the same time. We had a reservation for 7:30 and it took a little while to seat us but the staff were extremely friendly. I ordered the filet minion with samurai shrimp and it was awesome. Only thing I didn't like was that our tables were not being worked on at the same time. We had a reservation and it was for a big birthday. It's pretty awkward when the birthday girl watches you get your food first and you guys came together . So that really killed the vibe. The food is good but the shrimp was undercooked and the rice was a little on the greasy side. Other than that it was a solid experience.

This place continues to spiral downward! Ordered takeout over the weekend (spent over $50 btw) and I was severely disappointed! I asked for NO MUSHROOMS in my soup & food, only to find them all throughout my plate! Causing me to accidentally consume one, have an anaphylactic episode! Also Ordered 4 portions of 'chicken fried rice' (valued at $18) I spotted 3 pieces of chicken between ALL portions & no eggs & veggies added either. This place sends a clear message that if you do not dine in, your food will not be properly prepared! Highly pissed at this joke of an establishment! They need to bring in people from the Pasadena and San Dimas locations to show them how Shogun is supposed to run!!!

    More delicious food

My friends and I just celebrated birthdays here and was such an amazing time! We all had so much fun with our cook & entertainer JP!! He was great and kept us laughing the entire time. He also did a few food tricks I have not seen before or elsewhere so I was impressed. The food was delicious and great quality not to mention their meals now include noodles.....great addition. Food portions were large. The shrimp, fried rice, noodles, filet mignon, NY steak, vegetables, and chicken were flavored well & cooked perfectly. We really enjoyed the Kamakazi roll & Albacore Delight, flavors were on point. Our server was amazing and I can't say enough good things about JP, he's the best!! Great job JP!! Whoop whoop!

I came here for my 50th Birthday.. We had a reservation for 4:30pm.. Walking in the door we were immediately greated by friendly faces.. From the start this place was awesome.. We were lucky to be the only ones at the table.. The experience was AWESOME!! THE food was AWESOME TOO!! you could tell everyone in the place was enjoying themselves. I did also enjoy that they came over and saying to me for my birthday. Thank You

I have always supported shogun practically all my life!! Unfortunately, my family had a birthday celebration last night 11/5/25 and the service was absolutely disappointing. We had a reservation set for 6:30 PM and literally we were there for 3 1/2 hours. It took them forever to come to our table and help us, and to bring our drinks . Took about 2 hours for our chef to come to the table to cook. We also noticed that there were other parties that came after us, and they were getting help but we were the last table to get help. Also, what I didn't like, was that it was a many Workers just standing around and talking while our server was very busy and struggling. I didn't like the fact that no one helped her and they just let her stumble. I hate that this was a celebration for a good time and especially a birthday and the night was definitely ruined honestly. Most of our party drove three hours just to get here. The Customer Service was terrible and spoiled the entire night. However, our chef Juan P. Had a good personality and he kind of made up for the terrible experience. Also, our server was very nice as well, but I just hate the whole fact that management did not take over and did not care to accommodate us in a timely matter and have professionalism the entire time. There is no way no one should wait an hour and a half just for drinks and appetizers. It took so long that we did not even want the other two appetizers that we did order because it literally took too long and when the bill came, we wasn't even sure if those two items were still on the bill because it was just a bad experience and everyone at the table pretty much was very exhausted. Many people from the party had to end up leaving right away when the food came because it was just a lag. I have never knew shogun to be this way. I have never witnessed this unprofessionalism in a while and I definitely would not come back here. A good time is what we wanted to do, and coming far distance to support was definitely a slap in the face. I love going out to eat to have good experiences, but this was not good at all. I really am baffled and do not know what the issue was with our table, but it was very insane! Alejandra was the manager and in my opinion the comp was bare minimum she gave us, and her leadership skills. This shogun really ruined the entire night for a good time. Also, it was children at the table getting Antsy; and they failed to come through. I Ordered the lemon drop for my drink which was actually very tasty. And for my food , crunchy rolls and shogun special, which was good and the ONLY pro. Food was good and the ambiance was good as well and clean inside, but exceptional service to the customer and time management supersedes everything. It is hard times right now and individuals are struggling!! I feel businesses should appreciate each patron. -Marshay D.

It was my husband's birthday and decided to treat dinner for him. My daughter placed a reservation and seated right away upon arrival. The place was clean and spacious. The attendant was so nice and accommodating. The book Israel was ok. We ordered filet mignon with chicken New York steak with calamari, NY steak with shrimp , filet mignon with shrimp , Ny steak with scallop. The dishes were good . The meat was cooked well tender and juicy. The vegetables were fresh . We got the steamed rice instead of the fried rice. The miso soup needs more miso broth and salt. It was kinda bland . The green salad was ok but I wished they add more mixed veggies instead of the regular iceberg lettuce and carrots with ginger dressing . It wasn't appealing. Overall experience wise it was a nice dinner. They greeted my husband with a bday song , slice of cake and drum beats.

It's exactly what you expect, it's good If you were craving this type of food, and even better if you have a great chef. Anytime we get Molina it's always a great experience and the food fades so much better. Service is good. The waitress was easy accessible, visually it looks outdated inside. Just be warned, the price can jump up very quickly so everything you add makes a difference Keep that in mind.

I want to thank Leo and the whole team for taking care of my family and me, about two months ago we had a mishap and needless to say I wasn't happy at all and Leo personally reached out to me and last night I went in with my family and took care of me and the family and he right a wrong and I'm really grateful for that. Food was amazing, show was funny and over all my family enjoyed the dinner. Thank you very much Leo and team for taking care of the situation. You guys are awesome!

I am writing to share what a wonderful experience I had at Shogun Rancho Cucamonga location today. Having visited many Shogun restaurants, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and quality. Our server, Nao, was fantastic. Having previously served us at the La Verne location, she was as attentive as ever, ensuring our drinks were always full and checking in frequently to see if we needed anything. Most notably, Chef Luis Hidalgo truly exceeded my expectations. The food he prepared was absolutely amazing and easily some of the best I have ever had. His culinary skills are remarkable, and I will be highly recommending that future guests ask for him specifically. I am so pleased with my visit that the Rancho Cucamonga location will now be our primary choice for lunch and dinner outings. Thank you,

    Bathroom stall fix?

Had reservations at 530. Was not sat until 545 and then waited 45 mins at the table. In a half empty restaurant. Our server enriques was not good. Sorry I am new. Sorry I had to make your soup. Sorry I am out of my head right now. These are things he said. Then we had to wait for ever for everything. The chef Juan was excellent. He was the only bright star on this meal. Then I went to the bathroom. That told me everything. I was not clean and stall was held together by wire. This used to be a good spot that when I dropped money I felt value. Not anymore. It's a hard pass.

The vegetables and mushrooms were grilled perfectly, and the fried rice with the egg on top brought everything together. They also started us off with miso soup, which was simple but really comforting. Portions were generous and everything came out hot and fresh. Sizzling plates used to be THE big thing in the early and mid 2000s with lots of boba places having them as as specialty (RIP Coffee Break and MJ's Tea House), but now aside from a handful of businesses and Pepper Lunch, they're much more rare. Glad that the IE has Sizzlin' Place as one of their sizzling plate heavy hitters. Aside from the sizzling plates, they have other menu items including fried appetizers, soup and dried noodles, and sides like fries and takoyaki, but if you're going to a sizzling plate place, you gotta get a sizzling plate, you know? That's decorum. Service is welcoming and friendly, and efficient in the safest way possible with the scorching hot plates. Seating can get limited due to the nature of the meal, but I've never had an issues the times I chose to eat here. Ambiance can be relaxed and chill when the Haven City Market isn't busy, but during weekends or rush hour, it can get a bit hectic and there may be a bit of a wait. A staple that you can never go wrong with is the hot plate beef and if you're a carnivore or if you're sharing, you have to upsize and upgrade it. The slices of beef here are just slightly thicker than what I'm used to at Pepper Lunch, but that just means it'll shrink less and get less stuck on the hot plate as well. You get a hearty serving of rice with some corn on top, pepper, and green onions. Like other sizzling plate places, you can always get pasta or udon instead of rice, if you're feeling a bit more adventurous. Super hot, filling meal that's easy to eat. Not the most flavorful sometimes, at least with what I order, and in comparison to other competitors, but hits the spot when need be.

Instead of focusing on maintaining the quality of the restaurant, it feels like the focus has shifted to selling as many products as possible. Beef jerky, chips, sauces, salt, soju, you name it. Every table feels like you're sitting next to a billboard. Then you scan the QR code for the menu, and before you can even see the actual menu, you have to scroll through advertisements. What are you guys doing? Now let's talk about all the products on the table. You would think they'd at least let customers sample some of the sauces. Nope. Every bottle was empty. And let's talk about the branding. My favorite part of any product is usually the packaging and design, but there was absolutely no consistency. It looked like every product was designed by a different company. Nothing tied together or felt like it represented the Gen brand. It honestly looked cheap. Again, what are you guys doing? I want to end this review with the beef belly. Yes, the photo you're looking at is beef belly. I didn't know beef belly could be cut as thick as a steak. To make matters worse, the meat came out frozen. What happens when frozen meat hits a hot grill? It seizes up and turns tough.
