Just had the duck curry and the duck was nothing but bones and skin absolutely terrible!!!! I've had this dish many other times at other Thai restaurants and it was not like this at all! I told the manager that the duck was bad and I was unhappy and she basically told me that it was that because they roasted and then cooked it again!! She basically told me that she didn't care that I was unhappy and that was how the duck was supposed to be! So, she took $5.38 off my bill and I paid and left. I was so thrilled when they opened a Thai restaurant finally here in Bluefield. And it did not disappoint me! I love the duck curry! I've tasted authentic ones back home in Asia and I can tell what they have is authentic. The duck is crispy and juicy, and the curry is so tasty and has the right spice. The spider roll is also higly recommended. I will definitely come back to try other ones they offer! read more

Had the worst experience here today. The service was terrible and the food was subpar. The waitress was very rude, did not offer refills, did not take plates away, and was trying to rush us. There was a group of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids under the age of 3. She walked away halfway threw our order so we only received half the food we wanted. I've been here on multiple occasions but tonight will be my last. The waitress was also very rude to the children we had with us, she kept telling the 2 year old she couldn't understand anything she's saying and not to touch her. I don't expect her to like children but it's very rude to act that way, there was 100+ better ways to handle the situation then what she did, very unprofessional. Just found this amazing place today. It is primarily a sushi restaurant, but they do offer at least three Thai dishes. I've been dying for some Thai food since I left West Palm Beach and was very happy with Shogun. I brought my uncle, aunt and girlfriend and three of us ordered Pad Thai, which is usually the signature dish in a Thai restaurant. Since Shogun serves primarily sushi, I wasn't expecting too much from their Thai menu. Well, it was delicious and piled high. All the ingredients were in there; chicken noodles, crushed peanuts, eggs, scallions, crunchy fried onions, green peppers and a quarter slice of lime. Their house sauce (which separates them from other Thai restaurants) was a bit on the sour side of the scale (in West Palm Beach the Thai restaurants lean towards the sweeter side) but it was well balanced and delicious. Like the difference between eastern North Carolina vinegar-based BBQ and western North Carolina tomato-based BBQ sauce; you can taste the difference but you can still love both. My uncle and aunt, who are native-born West Virginians, had never eaten Thai before and they loved Shogun's Pad Thai. You too, won't be disappointed. I'll be back for more. read more

My family and friends LOVE this restaurant. The food is fabulous and the service was impeccable. The staff are so friendly and helpful and live recommending things on the menu. The menu is huge with options for everyone. I don't know that I would consider it a "Thai" restaurant because they offer way more than just Thai. Their hibachi chicken and steak is great and all the sushi that we have tried is delicious. The decorations are great and you actually feel like you are eating in a pricey restaurant, even though the prices aren't bad at all. If you are hesitant to try it, don't be. It's our new favorite place to eat. Bluefield is lucky to have them. read more

I went here a few weeks ago the food is good the guy making the sushi is awesome. However my waitress Anne was horrible she was clearly on something. We saw a cockroach climbing up the wall. We left a 2 dollar tip the service was terrible some how the tip got changed to 12.00 when I told the little girl up front about this a few days after it happened and we saw it on our statement she told me she couldn't do anything because that's what the receipt said even though you could clearly see it had been changed. We went back to see if this was a one time experience sadly it wasn't and the waitress who stole money from us is still working there. read more
