We stayed at Buffalo Trail with our MB Sprinter campervan for 3 weeks and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the restaurant was super clean and yummy, and the entire campground is super clean and organized. Not too far from here are the Hatfield and McCoy trails & Pinnacle Rock State Park. There's plenty to do in the area before washing up for a nice dinner at the restaurant. If you're looking for a vibe, this is the place! Laid back for families, but also party vibes for those looking for a good time. We highly recommend! read more

This was our 2nd stay at Buffalo! We enjoyed our stay in caps cottage! Love the new addition of swings by the fire pits. Cabin was clean and spacious for our needs. Easy to get on trails. The paved parking lot is a plus! Had great food and service at the restaurant.. highly recommend the High Tai drink! Can't wait to come back! read more

The food at this restaurant was just mediocre. The prices were extremely high for this level of dining. The service was very poor and the wait time for food delivery was over an hour. Will definitely not be returning there again. I advise exploring other dining options in the area. read more

This used to be a favorite when I started coming up to WV in 2015. Over the years the food quality has gone from very good to mediocre. My last visit was more than likely my last one. I like the atmosphere but there has to be service and food that go with it. One server taking care of the entire outside dining area does not lend itself to prompt attentive service. Maybe if the food was better, it would be acceptable with the staffing issues. Ownership needs to visit their restaurant more as was in the past. read more

Restaurant is only open Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 4 pm. So much wonderful atmosphere here. You can't beat it. Service was five star excellent. They have craft beer. Everyone liked the food but commented the steaks and burgers could have had more flavor, perhaps some seasoning would go a long way. All of the side dishes were absolutely excellent. I thought the prices were pretty fair for MOST items. I would like to see more expansive operating hours (especially in the spring/summer/fall) and a larger menu. I live in charlotte, nc and I am surrounded by a lot of fantastic restaurants and breweries, but wow!! This place is awesome! The woodwork was incredibly beautiful, the staff was attentive and friendly and to be in the middle of no where, this is a gem! It makes me so happy to see a place like this thrive in southern wv. It houses a lot of the people that go on the Hatfield and McCoy trail do there a lot of cute little cabins and tree houses beside the restaurant. I had the 1 ln burger and it was so juicy and tender. This place has a lot of potential. Prices are reasonable. Service is good. Mac & Cheese is excellent! Salmon was flavorful, but overlooked. Rib eye was fatty and not very good. Should have ordered the sirloin. Peel and eat shrimp were excellent! Beer cold. We will give them a second chance. read more

Pizzas are sub-par. Kind of pricey but the food was great. I had the salmon and rice with a salad, this was fresh and cooked correctly. Several different draft brewery beers to choose from which was refreshing - great summer time evening dinner type of place! Had to give it 3 stars this time. Up until last night we never had a bad meal there. We found out the normal cook Justin was not there. 3 of 4 steaks were cooked wrong medium rare was well done a different type steak that was ordered medium was blood red all over and so on. Went there and chicken wings were under cooked. Deserts were dry and the brunch buffet on Sunday .... Well , it's not great. There's no breakfast food except omelets. No waffle , no bacon and the pizza is worse than box pizza. I will compliment the owner stepping up and comping the bill but the food was horrible. The bar however is nice. I just feel bad for the RV campers who come to get away and have to be facing the bar when they come to enjoy the great outdoors. That is poor planning. read more

My mother and I heard of this great place to eat in Bluewell. We are both from Princeton so we thought we would try it out. We went on a Sunday, so the only food you can get than is a buffet. Everything on the buffet that was suppose to be hot was cold. Salisbury steak looked and tasted like it from a frozen dinner. Their pizza looked and tasted frozen also. My mother asked for bread and they gave her a half of a hamburger bun. Their potato salad was not cooked enough., etc. I would not recommend the buffet to anyone. The atmosphere was nice. Pretty scenery. We looked at a menu while we were there and they are so over priced. I have read some good reviews about their steaks but if I want a good steak, I will go somewhere else alot cheaper. read more

Good food with a moderately good selection. The downside is that they over-cooked my steak, so I'd go for something else next time. The apps are where it's at here; especially the peel-n-eat shrimp. They make their own spice for it, so pick that one, it's like Old Bay only better and with a little more kick, and definately get the full pound. The desert was really good too. I'd come back considering it's one of the few places that can easily handle large groups in the area.
