While the owners are very kind and welcoming, the food was not very good. It was dry and stale. Our waitress was outside smoking, and sat us and got a drinks without ever washing her hands. I recently had back surgery and my family and I have been eating out a lot!! I am the only one in my house hold who eats Chinese food and who is not picky!! Dragon Palace is decent. It's really a nice sized restaurant, clean and very nice staff. The buffet, at first, seems rather large. Once I really had a chance to see what they had on the buffet, it's not really as great as it first had seemed. lol Don't get me wrong, it is a good place to eat, and the selection is fair - just not what I had expected. lol A like a large variety of items.. At a buffet, I tend to get small portions of several items, instead of larger portions of a couple items. ...That's why I like buffets, I can get a little of this, and a little of that.. lol They have a large section dedicated to soup, a large section for dessert, and for salad. Though, I would like to see more variety on the salad bar.. But, at least they have a salad bar. =) The food is ok, the prices are ok, the service is great, the decor is ok.. This is the best Chinese buffet in the area. The staff remembers the customers and are quick with refills and taking away dirty dishes. My wife and I often go to the Sunday buffet and have never been disappointed. The hostess and servers are always cheerful and quick with their service of your choice of drinks. Soups are excellent, and their broccoli chicken and sesame chicken are favorites of mine. Salad bar is quite good though not extensive. My husband, the hot and sour soup snob, has finally found somewhere "as good as Panda (his fave place in Charlotte NC)" so he brought a quart home. They had a chickeny version of Mai fun (rice noodles)that I almost liked. The buffet was a bit tired but was very cheap. There are 3 Asian restaurants in the same long strip mall. Fabulous! Best I've had since leaving NYC 20 years ago. The appetizer ribs are a good size maybe just a little sweet for me but good. The pepper steak had loads of meat. The fried dumplins were tasty. The fried rice was excellent and cooked with eggs which I love. Egg rolls and spring rolls delicious. When I picked up my takeout it was hot and fresh. Food tastes freezer burnt and like it has been reheated 15 times. Unless you feel like wasting money on mediocre food, then you and your whole family getting food poisoning, don't go here. They werent even paying the waitress she was only making tips, she said its that way for any server that works there. I think if your going to advertise that you are a chinese or japanese buffet you really should be. Hands down the worst I have ever eaten West Virginia or not pinto beans, corn bread and collard greens does not a chinese buffet make.
