I normally order from shoes.com but they did not have the pair I wanted in my size so I decided to go with shoemall.com. The price was comparable but the shipping was a bit slower (shoemall.com uses Fedex Smartpost, shoes.com uses UPS ground). I didn't check any online reviews for shoemall.com before ordering and when I did I was a bit nervous. It seems like if you have no problems with your order you will be fine. However if you need to contact customer service or return an order, that's where most have problems. (Sorry, 2+ weeks after the order is returned and received by the company for the refund to be processed is way excessive in my opinion). The "F" rating by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a concern as well. Nonetheless, my order was fine and received in a reasonable time frame. However, I think I will stick with shoes.com for my future orders because of the abundance of negative ratings and "F" rating by the BBB. read more

I believe the Birkenstocks I purchased are authentic, but they must be factory seconds or they sat in a humid warehouse for a long time. Two of the four buckles have severe rust spots. I know some styles of Birkies have distressing on the buckles, but this is clearly not that. Very disappointed to pay full retail price for outlet mall/shoes with defects. I will be returning them. Based on other reviews I expect it will take ages to get a refund and they may or may not do the right thing and refund the $6.95 shipping fee, so I'll be filing a bank dispute if I'm not refunded in full. Shoemall, however, has not learned this skillset and has used shipping rules that prevent users from cancelling packages. Likely to keep people from trying to return items. I called FedEx and spoke with their on phone representative and he confirmed this was a specific criteria of this company. So, ultimately, users are forced to try to 'catch' the delivery driver as phone cancellations or website cancellations do not work, or are forced through a secondary return process with Shoemall that is set up to again cause users distress. Found several pairs of shoes at great prices, all the same beautifully made Italian brand, so thought I would give them a try. Ultimately had to return them due to various fit issues. To their credit, I was eventually notified that my returns had been received. At the same time, however, when I followed up to find out when the returns would be processed, this is the canned response I received: "Thank you for contacting our Customer Care Team. We are showing your return recently checked into our warehouse but not showing your returned item being processed at this time. It normally takes THREE TO FOUR WEEKS for us to receive and process a returned item. As soon as your package is processed, we will follow the return/exchange instructions included. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions or concerns." Furthermore, while they do have a 60 day return policy, which is pretty good, they do charge for return postage, and nowhere on their website does it reflect the fact that returns take THREE TO FOUR WEEKS to process after arrival. I ordered a pair of summer shoes on June 16th. They were to big so I returned them and requested that I be sent a size smaller. When I never heard from them I called. They told me that it takes 2 weeks to process the return and then they send the request for the new size to the order department to be sent out. Once the order department receives the order it is processed and takes 5 to 7 business days to process. I was told when I called the return was received on 7/6. I called again on 7/23 and was told that the return was just processed today and they did not know if they had sent for the new order. When I asked why he said he would have to transfer me to his manager. She in turn told me that this is the company policy. They suggest that when you make to exchange for a new size that you just return the shoe and go on line and reorder right away. NO other company I order from does this and it is ridiculous.
