I see a lot of comments about Dan being abrasive and rude, and I just don't see that. Sometimes he is a bit short, but I have never personally seen or heard him be rude to anyone. I'm not saying that those folks are liars, I'm simply saying that I have not seen that sort of behavior. I can see how people may come to that conclusion. He has an intimidating stature, and he * can* be short with people sometimes, but neither Dan, or his staff, have ever made me feel unwelcome in his shop. With that out of the way, the shop itself is always fun to go visit. The shop itself is nice, and clean, and well organized. Inventory seems to change fairly often, and there's a pretty good spread of options available on site, and on display. Prices for most firearms seem within reasonable variances that you see in other places. Ammo can be a little higher than average, and some of the reloading supplies are pretty high (which makes sense, reloading isn't really a focus of the shop). The shop is staffed with, in my opinion, friendly, knowledgeable folks who enjoy talking about guns as much as I do. If memory serves, Chris, their smith, is one of the nicest people I've talked to, and is an excellent on-site gunsmith. They offer training classes that cover a wide range of skill levels and topics, including conceal carry classes. Oh, and if full-auto is an itch you want to scratch, they have a nice selection of firearms to rent, including several select-fire options. On top of all that, Marcon has a very nice indoor shooting range, and as far as I know it's the only one of its type in the area. A couple notable personal experiences: Once Dan matched a competitors price on a Glock G20 for me at point-of-sale, even though I didn't ask him to do so. Dan gave me an incredibly fair offer on a handgun that I wanted to sell to such a degree that I would've felt bad trying to haggle for more. He offered me more than I was expecting to get from it. That's my take on the place after being a customer for around 5 years.

I went in looking to order a specific handgun, the employee did not seem to know what I was talking about and when he finally located the gun, he informed me all of his dealers were out of the gun. I went to another store and they got me the handgun in four days. I decided to give the business two stars instead of one because they were friendly, prompt with a e-mail response, prices are decent enough, and they have a very well put together website.

Lead in thread was like a razor blade, no thread relief at the shoulder, I was told that the threading would be done by single point turning but it looks to me like they were cut with a die nut. It's just not a prominent part. When we first walked in, we met "Marv" whose first words (literally): "I don't have many guns." Ok. That was a welcoming statement. Maybe that's how they say "Hi. What can I help you with," here. When asked if he was getting any more handguns, the reply, while given with a flat affect by someone who never once looked up from his repair job, was "no. I'm doing repairs". Ok. I get it. Actually, Marv's did have some guns, mostly rifles, and lots of rifle accessories and supplies. There was decent supply of it. The entire visit, while not welcoming, definitely had an "I don't care if you're here, but I'd be happier if you left" aura. Despite the controlled indifference of Marv, I still have to give this place two stars because what they did have that was priced in line with comparable places. If you need a repair, or some last minute hunting supplies, or a different scope, Marv's will probably work. Probably only if you're a local, though.

I originally chose to try this place out because of the 4.5 star review google was showing, but that rating is trash. There was only One worker available, and he seemed to care more about talking politics and his preference to hide in the dark on social issues rather than educate himself. Anyhow his beliefs are his own, and that's his business. Ultimately, I Would have appreciated if he would have taken the time to stop his conversation to try to do business. I tried to be patient, but I had my daughter with me, and she started to become a handful. Unfortunate for them they lost my business and I have no intention of going back, lucky for me I found a much better business not 10 minutes away.

At C and R guns they offered 1/3 of the price of the other shop. They even said "I'm not trying to steal from you." When I tried to call this morning to speak with the owner the gentleman on the phone simply said he's not here. When I tried to ask when he'd be back in the shop the phone started beeping due to him hanging up on me. I have never been treated with such disrespect in a shop in my life. If you are looking to sell or trade anything in the firearm industry do yourself a favor and save the time and gas and don't go to C and R guns.
