She is a gifted salesperson who is helpful without being pushy, kind but not afraid to be honest in advising, and cheerful without being phony. She really knows her stuff and it was so nice to be thoroughly guided in the selection with so many choices and styles. Alicia truly went the extra mile, even having my mom try on one more pair "just to make sure," even after my mom had pretty much made her decision.

I can even find shoes that I didn't even know I needed and wanted here. The selection is so vast, I can not figure out why anyone would buy their CH at a department store of other specialty shoe store when you a direct source right here. In addition to great shoes and boots, they have messenger bags, duffel's, belts, socks and shoe laces. Selling shoe laces is a big point for me. Have you noticed how some shoe stores sell you a pair of shoes with laces and when you want an extra pair of laces, they tell you they don't sell laces. Not here, they've got'em and they have them in a variety of colors to match your shoes. Prices may be higher then your typical "shoe store", but you are getting what you pay for and that is a classic well made product. My Cole Haan shoes seem to last for ever and I am hard on shoes. I watch for sales and periodically treat myself to a full priced pair, when I just can not resist the temptation. Which may be very soon, since I found a pair that are screaming, "buy me, buy me". Dorothy had her "Ruby Slippers", so why shouldn't Steven B have his "Orange Loafers". Orange is my signature color. The entire sales staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite.

The merchandising is always top-notch and the service is excellent. I tried on a couple of styles and ultimately went with a silver, pointed toed loafer, a perfect transition item for fall. I could tell that the store was a little bit short staffed, as there was only one person bringing out the shoes and ringing up customer, but that hiccup aside, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I also learned that there will be a Cole Haan coming to Chicago...likely in 2018...to replace the Mag Mile location that closed for remodeling earlier this year. Worth the wait!

I checked out their women's shoes to see if there's anything that tickles my fancy. While I found a few slip ons which would have been excellent for the coming summer months, they did not have any on my size. There were 3 different pairs I considered but no 6.5. I finally went to check out and the lady told me that the shoes are buy one, get one half off. No one told me while I was perusing. She held the pair I was getting for my husband while I checked if there's any I would like to get for half off. I found a pair of Nikes that seemed like they would be cute with dresses. I went with those. They weren't on sale but fairly affordable at less than $80 for the pair. Not to mention the buy one, get one half off sale. Bogo sales are final, but he provided a gift receipt when I told him the shoes were for someone else who doesn't make it out there too often. The person loves the shoes, but due to a foot issue, they were a little tight on her, so she actually came to the store and moved up a size (and had to pivot to different colors) on her subsequent visit. I'm so glad the employee offered the gift receipt. Had he not, we'd be stuck with some shoes that couldn't be worn and we'd be reluctant to try the Merrell Outlet again. Now we're fans!
