A treasure hunt with charm and value…read more Penny Wise Consignment is one of those places where you walk in "just to browse" and somehow leave with a bag full of finds you didn't know you needed. The shop is well‑organized without losing that fun, treasure‑hunt energy that makes consignment shopping so addictive. Clothing, accessories, home goods--everything feels curated enough to be worth your time, but still priced like a true local gem. What really sets Penny Wise apart is the staff. They're friendly, patient, and genuinely invested in helping you find something that fits your style or your home. There's a sense of loyalty and community here--you can tell regulars come back not just for the deals, but for the people. Inventory rotates often, which keeps things fresh, though it also means you've got to be quick if you spot something great. A little more space or updated displays would push this place into five‑star territory, but honestly, the charm is part of the appeal. If you love good value, unique pieces, and a shop that feels like it's run with heart, Penny Wise is absolutely worth the stop. Enjoy

I was told by the…read morerude lady Afroo, there were only two people working, however, my husband and I counted four at the time. There was not one person on the floor, so I asked for help from a lady standing in the back room, right by the swinging doors. I asked her if she could help me with some Berkinstocks and,she said right as I pushed the door to a crack, You are not allowed back here it is for employees only and she said shut that door I was not even in the back room, I was standing on the rug. Again she said, You can't be back here so I told her I need help ma'am. The Young lady at the register called about 15 minutes ago. All she would say is, Shut the door I'll be with you in the min. She got on the radio and called for someone to come help me as if she couldn't help me, why? I am disabled and needed help getting a pair of shoes and ask questions about the shoes. The ladies name was Afrooo , she was very very rude walking out of the back room of the store, with a very loud cart. I asked her if she was the store manager. She told me she was, when infact she isn't and she refused to give me the store managers name. she was carrying on as we were walking toward the front and I asked why didn't you just come help me instead of telling me you'd be right with me as she pulled a very loud cart. I do want to mention, she did ask two black ladies if she could help them. I assume she must be prejudice. She was extremely rude, simply because I asked for help. She should not be in any Management role. This is the second time I have had "Attitude" and "Poor Service"from this DSW location.

They have a wide selection of vineyard vines, north face, and other fun stuff. The store is not super huge but is usually pretty packed. It's saved me money on things I'm going to buy anyway since some of the items are on sale that never go on sale online (north face stuff!). Always a friendly staff, can't wait to go back!

No where in their store did I see a sign for store credit only. I'm not sure if it's because of where they are located but apparently it's a company policy. I'm not a local so I don't want store credit. It's impossible to buy someone someone else a gift because what if they don't like it? What if they don't like anything in the store? It's a very frustrating policy especially since everything they sell accepts returns.. (vineyard vines, jack Rogers, sail to sable etc) so unfortunately if I see something in the store I like I will purchase directly from the company instead of buying local. Sorry Island Outfitters you just lost a loyal customer of 10 years...
