DSW, I'm looking at you, because men's 10E is just not that unusual in 2025. This shop is the opposite, they have all sorts of sizes in stock, and all sorts of boots. Today I used them as a verification process for a local trade on some shoes. The shoes in question were DS Rookie of the Year retro 1s. These shoes was a Xmas gift from last year and came with the receipt from House of Hoops. I buy Jordan's to WEAR. I'm not a reselling. I own probably 35 pairs of Jordan's. Never ever sold or swapped a pair. Anyways, due to the color scheme I've never gotten around to actually rock these shoes due to I don't hv many outfits to match. Although I did buy a matching hat. Lol. Anyways, I say all that to say that I'm NOT a reseller. I decided to off these shoes and cop sumthing that's more in line with what I actually wear. I had my eyes set on the Obsodian retro 1s. So I posted my Rookie of the Year 1s for sale on Stock X and they sold like days later. I send them in only for Stock X to reject them during the verification process due to missing extra shoe laces that originally came with the shoe. However they did VERIFY it as authentic and Dead Stock and placed a VERIFICATION BADGE on the shoes. But sent the shoes back to me. (Again, due to missing extra shoe strings). I have since found the shoe strings in my dresser drawer. But instead of dealing with the hassle of sending them back to Stock X, I found a local buyer who had the Obsidian 1s. So agreed to swap. It was MY IDEA to meet at a reseller store for authentication becuz I wanted to verify what this guy had to be authentic. It turns out Powerhouse Kickz told the guy my shoes were fufu. The shoes that were originally purchased at House of Hoops AND verified by Stock X. (With verification badge still on shoe) They told me and my buyer that Stock X sell fake shoes. I informed him that they WEREN'T purchased from Stock X just verified. He said well Stock X is a person and they make mistakes. Bro, ur a person too. So my buyer passed, naturally. I'm just super pissed that they're verification process is flawed.

He measured and looked at the arches of my feet, then brought out various shoes to try on. There is an area to run with the shoes and feel how they preform. After I selected my pair, he then showed different colors and I got a 15% discount for belonging to a gym. They have improved in that they no longer call customers insulting names like "shoelover" when I walk in, but they still don't seem to realize they are in direct competition with online choices. Online, my size, 10e, is never a problem. In this store, they seem to operate on some formula for in stock sizes that dates back to the American 1960s. Most of their styles do not have a 10e, they have 10, 10.5 standard width, and 10eee. They say, if I don't see my size, to ask a salesperson, but this results in the sales person looking through the same stack I just looked through (taking a little longer than me) and pronouncing that they don't seem to have my size. Very annoying. I'm going to stick to ordering directly from Allen Edmonds or Kiziks.

But I hate that the options for my giant feet are not great and the things I like are often pretty pricey. Occasionally I will score a good deal on something, but this was not one of those days. The pickings for my size were slim and I had to dodge a giant cart of shoes that a worker was using as their staging area, giving me a look like I was inconveniencing her for daring to shop while she is stocking shoes. The nerve of me! I did find some heel guards at a good price and the sales staff at the front of the store was pleasant so the experience wasn't ALL bad.
