My friend and I booked a Harry Potter themed pottery mug making class and it was so much fun!…read moreConnie was so charismatic and funny and she really helped keep us on track while also letting us "play" around with the process. She made sure to keep it very low stress we are going to do more classes because we loved it. The price was also reasonable for a 2 hour class! The studio vibe was very chill and the staff were all great.

I'll stick to the facts and you can make your own conclusions. First impressions: I loved the concept. A cooperative-style art studio giving artists a place to create is genuinely special. When class started, the teacher, a relatively young girl, introduced herself and immediately told us not to bother telling her our names because she wasn't going to remember them anyway. I remember thinking... okay. A little odd, but whatever. I'm here to play with clay. She was very skilled and genuinely helpful during the class itself. I enjoyed learning and had a good time. At one point I noticed a pile of glazed pots sitting nearby. The teacher mentioned that unclaimed pieces get donated to a rage room. I remember cringing a little thinking about all those cute handmade pots getting smashed. After learning the wheel, you glaze your pieces and leave them behind to be fired. We were told the studio would contact us once everything was ready for pickup. A few weeks went by and I never heard anything, so I checked the website. It basically said: please do not call us, firing takes time, we'll reach out when ready. Okay... slightly cold in tone, but fair enough. I figured I'd be patient. Then life happened and I completely forgot about it. Now it's been months. No call. No email. So at this point, I'm assuming someone probably had a fantastic time smashing my pots with a baseball bat.

Still 3 stars but for different reason…read more The organization is much improved. I searched online so I already knew the aisle before walking into the store. Thankfully the tracing paper was exactly where it said online. I saw one associate in front amount maybe 8 self service scanners. She was great at telling you where basic items are in the store but I doubt she does any crafting. Lights on 64. But when I asked specifically for tea lights I get a blank stare. These stores use to have a variety of associates that engaged in different crafts where you could show them your ideas and they could share suggestions and recommendations about items that could help. Yesterday all I got was a blank face. I end up looking around and finding the led tea lights that I asked. Except these cost nearly $22. There were other lights that looked good but no price or real label. The one associate now had a line. I hope no one is working alone, but I never saw anyone else.

We stopped by to pick up some acrylic paints. I got the most adorable ceramic sculpture at goodwill…read morethe other day, but it has a few scratches. I thought if I got a bit of paint, that I could touch it up. Not sure if it will work, but I'm going to give it a try. They had so many options from which to choose. Not the exact color that I needed, but I got a few choices to mix and hope it will come close to match the original paint. While we were there, we browsed all the cool Halloween skeletons and decorations. Along with some seasonal items that they have already put on sale. This store is huge. So you have to have some patience to wander around a bit. Let's just say, you'll get your steps in! My husband is a talented crafter. If I show him a picture of something that I like, he can usually make it or something similar. We checked out some of the other aisles, as well, just to get some early gift ideas, too. Checkout was an okay experience. We are already in their computer system, so they honored his military discount. Woohoo.
