Ok so let me start off my saying I am art challenged. I am a science kinda gal. Whenever I had to take an art class in school, I cringed because I just am not good at art. Fast forward to now. My boss wanted to do something to recognize the dietitians for nutrition month, so she booked us a painting party here. I was immediately anxious, I can't paint! I was nervous about going and even on the day of I did not feel any better about it. In fact, I was convinced this would really suck! About 7 of us came and our instructor was Cole. He was so very patient with us. Most dietitians have a type A personality and want to control everything. I can say that I am more easy going than that, but still, this is art we are talking about here. I am more at ease doing calorie calculations for tube feeding patients! So we begin our art session. Slowly but surely, the picture began to take place (we did a pineapple). Even more awesome, it was super relaxing, at least for me it was. Cole was very helpful and didn't make me (us) feel like we were not up to par with the art world. He guided us through the whole process, using terms that we could understand. In the end, I REALLLLLLLLLLLY enjoyed myself and was glad that my boss chose this activity for us to do! I actually asked her if we could do this again! I wouldn't mind going with some of my friends if we could get a schedule together that worked for all of us. What an adorable little spot to enjoy a cozy evening with friends :) we went together as co-workers after we heard about the $20 Tuesday painting deal! We needed to make the reservation online because of how quickly the classes book up. They have a little area for where you can keep your refreshments such wine, beer, or soda chilled and set to go. The ladies in charge of the evening when we went was Gretchen and Arianne and they were phenomenal ladies, cheerful patient and helpful. The studio is within a small plaza in which you have to curve around and find towards the back. Inside is small and quaint decorated with the painting styles of classes that will be taught or have been in the paste. What I love about this location is the openness to bring whatever you want to snack and drink- and I MEAN WHATEVER YOU WANT. A lady I saw yesterday had shrimp and cocktails and another one brought wings :) like super comfortable environment to enjoy whatever you want without hesitation. The class is set up with about two hours to finish your masterpiece- the teachers let you go to your pace and even style which is amazing to know you can drift away from the norm. A great place for friends to create fun memories together. The creative side of my brain I thought was permanently non existent. But the girls at Uptown Art can really bring it out in anyone.. OK the wine does help! Lol But I have actually done some of my best paintings without sipping on the vino. I just love the atmosphere the staff at Uptown Art creates and they all are so helpful. Great place-perfect to come with your kids, hubbie, friends...Staff is amazing. We were running late-when we arrived our area was set up for us and they helped us catch up. I highly recommend this place and will return! It was a little difficult to find-bot in the end we found it!! What a great place for a party or just a nite out! I had my daughters 40th there last nite. The owners Katie and Kara were so wonderful to worth with and supplied everything we needed from paints, wine glasses and bags( to take our "masterpieces" home ) to a wine coolers, openers and ice buckets. You can cater in food, hors dourves or desserts. It was such an awesome night I would highly recommend!! read more

What a Great Place to take your family and friends to paint! I took my wife and daughter today to paint and we had a Fantastic Time! The owners and the teachers were so helpful and I was shocked on how Beautiful my Painting was. Even my wife and daughter were surprised that I was able to paint so good but I owe it to the teachers who really helped everyone and had great advice on painting. The class was full and everybody had a Fantastic Time!!! They even have Birthday Parties and Adult Painting where you can bring your own wine so we are Definitely coming back!!! Yesterday our family threw a birthday party for our 8 year old grandson at Uptown Art located in a lovely shopping center on 18th st in Boca Raton.It is run by a lovely family who go out of there way to meet your needs. At first we were concerned it might be a poor turnout. But word of mouth worked and there were 56 children in all. Most parents stayed and enjoyed the fun and excitement as their children followed directions and finally produced paintings of very fierce sharks. There was a break so the children had their pizza, there was adult food for the parents and lots of drinks for all. The food and drinks were provided by the customer,(us). My daughter in law had her birthday party at Uptown Art as well and all who attended had a great time. I have never seen my grandson so excited and so happy to have all his classmates, friends, and even preschool friends help him have the best birthday ever. More children arrived than expected, but Sol, the owner and her family set the children up with the materials they needed. As a grandparent it was a welcome change to the parties where the children are running, jumping, climbing, swinging, etc. Every painting the children made had an individual touch to it, so it was unique to the child. They all loved the experience and had a sense of accomplishment. read more
