The neighborhood has gotten a lot of improvements recently including upgraded streets, sidewalks, and alleys along with improvements to this park. Currie Commons Park was named in honor of George Graham Currie. There is a another park named for him in West Palm Beach. Currie was a native of Quebec. When he arrived in Florida he was penniless but he became a lawyer, made money, and then lost it all in real estate. He served as mayor of West Palm Beach from 1901 to 1902. He wrote 18 books of poems, essays, and music lyrics before passing away in 1926 shortly after this park was dedicated. One of the best features of Currie Commons Park is the recently replaced playground. The thirty three year old wood structure playground was compromised by years of use and weathering. It also had termite damage. Restoring it was not an option so it was disassembled. Funded by the Community Redevelopment Agency, a new multilevel playground was built and it is the first of its kind in South Florida. The four story playground has a giant twisting rainbow slide along with secret hidden instruments and butterfly surprises. During my visit you could tell how much the children were enjoying it. Other park amenities include a lighted little league field, multi-purpose field, press box, concessions, and restrooms. Whether you are coming for sports or play, the Currie Commons Park is a great recreational resource for those living in and visiting the Osceola neighborhood of Delray Beach.

The home was originally owned by Boca Raton pioneers Mamie Myrick and her daughter, Aldah Myrick who had one of the first automobiles in Boca Raton. In 1917 the house was sold to its next owners Nellie and George Race. Their daughter Race Williams named the house Singing Pines because of the sound the wind made when going through the pine trees on the property. Race entered a nursing home and passed away in 1979. The house was moved to Memorial Park in 1976 and the name Singing Pines was changed to Children's Museum when it opened with it's first exhibit Pioneer Kitchen. The museum is very small but wonderful for toddlers and the preschool set. Admission is $5. The different play stations are Ricketts Corner Store which gives children the opportunity to play store in a recreation of Boca Raton's first grocery. KidsCents Bank Sponsored by First Southern Bank has bank teller windows and a vault so kids can practice their money skills. Oscar's Post Office gives children the opportunity to make postcards for a friend. Dr. Dig's Back-Porch has fossils and a puzzle. The Children of the Wilderness demonstrates the pioneer history of Singing Pines.There is also a pirate ship and fort outdoor exhibit and water tables for water play which are sponsored by FPL. This little museum is filled with old fashioned charm. What a wonderful place to get kids to put down the tablets and just play and interact. I love how this historic home has been transformed into a place of play and learning for children. I think that the civic leaders and pioneer women who occupied the home would be happy that it is continuing in this way. I had a lot of great times in this museum with my daughter who is grown now. I especially loved coming for the Halloween party. I was glad to see that they are not only going strong but expanding and increasing their programs for the public.

The nature walks are short too. And it's very accessible. Even a ramp all the way up to the look out point so people in wheel chairs can view too. It's shaded from all the mangroves and palms. And the tree that it's named after gumbo limbo! Which is a red tree that peels We attended the free 10:00 am tour which lasted an hour. It was mostly the tour guide talking who is a volunteer and very nice. Very enthusiastic. It was a little drawn out and we stoped every 10 steps but worth it. I took the stopping moments to take everything in and even spotted huge spiders. I forgot what they are called but there are the biggest ones I have seen and they are all over. He said they can bite but it's like a bee sting and not poisonous. And they stay off the path anyway. There are huge tanks of really big fish. The barracuda is huge and has the cleanest teeth. These fish are fed well. The place is kept very clean, there are a lot of staff to answer your questions. And there is someone even cleaning the outside of the tanks. They also have a sea horse tank. The butterfly garden is small, saw some zebra butterflies and I think a cardinal bird. You can walk towards the inlet and there is a small peaceful beach and picnic area that is covered. Parking lot is small but plenty of parking on a Tuesday morning at 9:30, but the time we left at 11:30 it was filled and there was a school bus. Figure 1.5 to 2 hours here. They also have a fish feeding at 12:30 but we were done before then. Would come back again!

This small but mighty facility rescues and researches turtles and other marine life but turtles mainly. Staff/volunteers are very friendly, informative, and eager to help. They have fish feeding and turtle talks not sure if daily or just weekends but check their website for schedule. Also check the weather because if there is lightning, they will close. This spot is free but you can make a donation in the main building to help support the education and research provided here. There is free parking but it gets full quick. However the place is not that large and it may take only a couple loops to line up with someone leaving. If not there is paid beach parking across the street along the road there. There isn't a food or beverage but maybe bring a water bottle if you plan on doing the overlook (especially as it gets hotter). They have a butterfly garden but we only saw one butterfly at the time. They have two tall tanks where they do the feedings that have fish, rays, and a couple turtles. They also have two smaller tanks, one with really large fish and another with smaller. There are some outdoor tortoises as well as a college Marine research area where you can watch them being studied and ask questions of the students there. The overlook is beautiful and provides a nice view of the intracoastal and a slight view of the ocean. There are a few interactive educational boards along the walk up the ramp. If you want a more direct route up or down, they also have stairs. The path also extends into the mangroves and along the way back to the main building.

This indoor gym isn't too large, but it manages to squeeze in a ton of fun obstacles for the kiddos to enjoy. There's a foam square pit, plastic obstacles, mats to climb, a big slide, and even a little trampoline. All the kids seemed to be having a blast while I was there. While I do think this is a great option to meet up with friend and get some exercise, it is important to note that it's not as cleanly as some of the other gyms I've been to. There were small pieces of fluff all over, so I definitely had to keep a close eye on my little one who tries to put everything in her mouth. A lot of the obstacles have also been heavily used, so they look older and run down. Just something to keep in mind when you're scoping out the perfect place for your next adventure. Overall, we had a fun time and it was inexpensive!

It is very barren compared to the other indoor play experience which we have visited nearby. More of an attempt could be made with the decor, perhaps some murals or some more built-ins to tie everything together. Perhaps many small buildings so it actually looks like a small town that the children can explore. We may return again someday if there's another character experience, however we would not return just for the play.

Turns out they only allow 3 kids per class and they run around for 45 minutes tumbling around, climbing a wall, using a trampoline and playing hide-n-seek. The kids play upstairs and the parents wait outside the room where wifi and free Kcups are available. Adults can also run around on obstacles downstairs. Plenty of parking in front, but signage could be a bit better on the building. The location is among warehouses. Staff is super friendly.
