After looking at endless reviews, I selected Dr Griggs as my top choice. I am so glad I did. Dr Griggs is the most compassionate Doctor I have ever met; she took the time to go through my medical history, she listened keenly/patiently to all my questions/concerns and made me feel comfortable and not judged. Dr Griggs is truly knowledgeable and incredibly detailed she addressed all my inquiries and at the end of my appointment she had an action plan.

Recently, my mother went to an Urgent Care center on a Friday, and was told she may have uterine cancer and needed to get into the doctor ASAP and or take herself to the ER by Monday. Obviously when she told me I completely panicked because 1. She doesn't have insurance, and 2. she needed to get into someone on a Saturday. I told my mom (who is terrified of doctors and never goes to them) that I would call my OBGYN. So I called Advanced up, and Linda answered and put me on hold for like 2 minutes and came up with an appt on a Saturday! Literally the next day. She told me not to worry, they would help us on the billing with no insurance and get everything squared away. It was so reassuring. I literally just love Linda! Ruby and Maria are also great! So we go to the appointment, and I was literally freaking out that my mom was going to flip out on Dr. Griggs because she hates doctors. After an hour she comes out and is completely calm and we talked to Linda. Linda gave her a hug and we were off. In the car my mom said, Dr Griggs was the kindest most understanding doctor she had ever met. So, of course I was thrilled. On the billing side, Linda told us that we should talk to Pam. So at the next appointment my mom went into Dr. Griggs, and Pam took me back to her office and explained all of our options. Since the affordable care act did not apply to my mom, we have to work really hard to find other options. So Pam gave me a ton of information, and was super duper understanding and sweet. We go back again today, and I am not even stressed because I feel like we are in the best care for my mother! I highly recommend this place! From Front Desk to the Billing Dept these ladies are top notch!

Their hours stipulate that they are open from 9am to 12pm, but when I called at 9:30am, I had to leave a message with an "agent." The office staff is rude. And finally: I had called two days previously, on a weekday (because the practice refused to accept my pharmacist's request for a refill on a prescription the day before), and was told that a request would be put in if I made my annual appointment, which I did. They then did not forward my request to my pharmacist and I am now out of my prescription. I would highly consider a different practice, as I am sure there are several that could meet your needs as a patient.

I'd give a 10 star review if it was solely based on the Doctor, but it's not. The 3 stars is due to the Scheduling. I recall over the years being a Patient ' that only one time I had to see a P.A. because I Dr. Estes was not available. This year I got a reminder in January to call and make my Annual Appointment for September, i went through my portal to make one, just to be told that I had to call to make it. When I called, I was told to call back the following week because they did not have the next month's schedule available. This has been going on for 6 months now, and I still can't get in. This is disappointing and frustrating when you are trying to be proactive with your health.

I am one they cut loose. I decided they don't deserve my silence. As every other negative review says, the office staff is rude and despondent. I called in August to set my annual well exam, and was told they had nothing available until December. 4 months!?When I check in, I'm called to the desk and rushed through some digital release forms to sign. One of which was the use of recording software the doctors now use to record your conversations in the room. The language was very vague- so I questioned if it involved AI. She confirmed it does. I declined the release. (AI software in medical practices, ESPECIALLY women's health should concern everyone, given the political climate and this country's squishy feelings on women's right to bodily autonomy.) Then, a woman escorted me to a room where she reviewed health history, asked me again about the AI tool, (declined again), and before she left, asked "Is there anything you wish to address with the doctor?" This is important, because it's a set up to change your "well exam" appointment to "concern" appointment. It's coded differently, and billed at a higher rate, so I later find out. I said yes, and disclosed my topic of discussion. 20+ minutes later, Doc rushed in, and I talk to her about a common topic I had been reading about my current lifestage as she was doing my exam. I wasn't asking for diagnosis- there was no special test or exam required, simply questioning route of treatment would be better suited for me in this milestone. We had a good, albeit rushed conversation... and after 4 years of trying to figure this out on my own, I finally felt validated and relief that I might start feeling more like myself again. On my way out, the lady at the desk was annoyed that I interrupted her conversation to check the pharmacy she had on file for me. A month later I'm sent a bill for a co-pay. My insurance has no co-pays for annual exams, so I sent a question in the portal, asking if it was mistakenly coded wrong. I was told the "discussions addressed in my appointment fell outside the parameters of a well exam visit." I challenged them on this. I scheduled it as a well exam, 4 months ago. My questions were 100% normal for my age. You mean to tell me that once you're done having babies, you're not allowed to ask ANY questions outside of paps and mammograms without an additional paywall? This is ageist, predatory, and unethical. There's no disclosure about this caveat. When I said my next step was google and yelp reviews if it was not corrected, they brought the doc into the conversation. She repeated the same explanation and signed off with "I believe a positive patient-physician relationship must be built on mutual trust, open communication, and respect.... Since verbalizing your unhappiness with our billing and coding procedures, I feel you would be a better fit in a different practice. Therefore, I am dismissing you from our practice." Not fully disclosing the use of AI nor informing me of my intended question falling outside a well exam visit were both violations of trust and communication... but because I'm not submissive or mindlessly compliant, I'm not a "good fit." As I reflected these last few weeks, it has become very clear to me that in addition to their billing procedures, their priority seems to lie in turning over as many rooms as they can in a day and making diagnoses and treatment recommendations that are not necessarily in your best interest, but theirs. I have more stories that I now see as missed red flags... bottom line, they don't care about you, only your money and mindless compliance. The messaging in their billing correspondence says "thank you for your business" not "thank you for entrusting us with your care." Says a lot. Find a smaller practice.

When I first got pregnant I was overjoyed but very nervous due to my hormone levels being abnormally low. I had to come in every 3 days for blood draws to make sure the numbers continues to rise. At this point I had only seen Dr. Michael who was amazing and reassuring through his entire process. While Dr. Michael was on vacation I started to bleed which of course put me into a state of frenzy and panic. The office was already closed so I had the doctor on call paged who at the time was Dr. Miller. The receptionist understood the severity of my situation and relayed this in the page. She said if I got receive a call within 15 minutes to call back. As a R.N. I understand that the doctors can easily get caught up and busy so even in my distraught state I waited 30 minutes to call back and have her paged again. I finally got a call back and the tone she had with me was callous and irritated as though I interrupted her dinner or something. I explain what is happening through my tears and she asks me with an annoyed voice "Why are you so upset? Is this your first pregnancy or something?" as though a more experienced mother wouldn't be crying over the probability of losing the life inside her that she wanted more than anything. She then tells me with that same annoyed tone. "Well as you know the office is closed so you have two, well you have three options. You can go to the ER, you can go to a immediate care center, or you can just sit at home and call in the morning for an appointment. So those are your choices." I ask what she recommended and she simply stated I can do whatever I want. I was so taken back by her cold demeanor that I just thanked her for her time and hung up. So my husband and I went to the ER where I was informed and there was no longer a heartbeat and that I was indeed miscarrying. So after that experience when the office called me in the morning since the hospital sent them my paperwork of what occurred the night before they told me to come in. Dr. Michael was on vacation so I told them there was no way I am seeing Dr. Miller. This is when I met Dr. Epstein. I was devastated and emotionally raw which he could see. He spent a lot of time with me just talking and reassuring me. I felt better after my appointment with him as he gave me the compassion I so desperately needed from my healthcare team. Long story short, when I got pregnant again I was a nervous wreck for the entire pregnancy. Dr. Michael was so patient with me, reassuring me and taking the time to answer any and all of my million questions. I also saw Dr. Epstein a couple of times when my schedule didn't allow me to see Dr. Michael and every single time they were amazing. I have referred Dr. Michael to many of my friends and I continue to strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a compassionate, patient, and talented OB/GYN. Sorry this was so long, but I wanted to explain in detail my reasoning for my negative review of Dr. Miller so it didn't come off as my assessment of her was unreasonable.

It was my first appointment with a gynecologist and the experience was so unpleasant that I thought that I should share my thoughts to maybe deter the behavior I experienced or help people decide if they want to go here. When I first got seen, it was by a nurse. The first thing that was strange was when I was asked about gender. When I said I identified as female (I'm a CIS woman), the nurse said "sorry, I think that's a stupid question, but I have to ask it". As somebody who is very much not transphobic, I was put off by this. However, this was not what made my experience unpleasant. When talking about my health, very personal questions were asked (which is expected, it's a gynecologist's office) but it was as if the questions had no weight to them. Immediately I felt as if I was being treated as a number and not as a person--it was very rushed. I was asked questions that required me to disclose traumatic experiences I had went through, and when I disclosed, I felt as if the tone of the conversation shifted to judgment immediately (imaging feeling like you are being judged for your sexual choices, experiences, and trauma, something I've spent years in therapy working on. It was not a good experience ). What should have been a normal visit to a provider quickly became triggering. When Dr. Patel saw me the "not a person, but a number" feeling carried through. When seeing my medical history, I also felt judgement from Dr. Patel. She made a point to ask me "are you sure?" when asking about my current sexual choices--as if I was lying to her. In addition to this, there was certainly a somewhat condescending tone about my weight. I struggle with my weight as many people do, and I have hypothyroidism, a condition that makes it especially difficult to lose weight. I also suffered from eating disorders years prior, so it is a complicated issue for me that has a lot of baggage attached to it. However, this type of medical history isn't asked about. I don't remember what was said about diet and exercise, but I explicitly remember a somewhat fat-phobic tone to it. Not in a way that would be expected from a doctor (I have seen doctors and dietitians and neither have ever made me feel as if I was a burden like I felt here). The best way I could describe it is, it felt like Dr. Patel was in a hurry, and she spoke to me as a number and not a person. It felt very "ugh, another fat person". While I wish this was it, it's not. After all of this, I had to be naked in front of this person. I wish I had just left. I was having a Pap smear done and I have scars on my body because I used to self injure as a teenager. I am in a much better space mentally (through lots of hard work!) and I always tell doctors why the scars are there so that they aren't shocked or worried about my well-being. When I told Dr. Patel this she said something along the lines of "oh yeah, I noticed (the scars). I feel like a lot of kids did that and then stopped when they got older". What I usually hear from doctors is "thank you for telling me". Dr. Patel's rhetoric made me feel as if she was insinuating that I stopped self injuring because I matured. As an M. D. I am sure she knows that immaturity is not why people self injure. Depression and anxiety are very common, but complex issues that many people have to go through, and self injury can be an unfortunate reality for people coping with these conditions untreated. It is not something to be shamed, or to be associated with characteristics such as maturity/immaturity, age, etc. It is very hard to disclose about such an issue, especially to a stranger who just saw my naked body. While her comment might not have been malicious in nature, it was inconsiderate and honestly, triggering. I left the facility knowing I will never be back. Before coming to this facility, I read about gynecologists in the area and specifically avoided some because of their Yelp reviews about treatment toward plus-sized women. Unfortunately, I got similar treatment here, but worse because of the other parts (the questions/reactions by the nurse, and the judgement I felt throughout). This experience has made me afraid to go to gynecologists, and makes me worry that when I have children, I will feel judged by my doctors instead of helped and cared for. It just felt so uncomfortable and I hope I don't feel this way again when I go to a different practice.
