I've been a patient at this clinic for several years. Although the appointment always runs late for 30 min or over an hour, I didn't change the care provider because of the hassle of finding and building a relationship with a new doctor. However, I am extremely disappointed with a lack of accountability and decided to change where I get care. I went in for an annual exam, and the clinic assumed it's repeat visit and they billed the insurance with a wrong code which incurred out of pocket on my end. They don't have a proper in-take process asking why I am there, they just assumed it was another visit, and the unnecessary cost is my responsibility? I contacted the insurance company, lab company, and the clinic multiple times before the visit. It was supposed to be zero cost to me. I was told that the doctor's office would contact me back, but never heard back from them. If a consumer was charged for a service that was never commissioned or agreed upon, any other businesses will fix their mistakes and refund the money. That is a common sense. Ambiance of the office is nice. I like the table being one with stools if required, weird of me, right? Water is always appreciated, there is one receptionist that can be annoying with her attitude sometimes, but whatever. Maria is more consistently nice. Good doctor. Rude. Results given for nonexistent tests even though I required them but never tested despite being told I was tested but once I called the lab and insurance and they never happened. No apologies or offered to be tested for free -they are covered under preventive benefits- Insurance informed me of this mess. I was told I had to pay $400 if I wanted to be tested when I asked to be tested in my annual wellness visit that would have covered all 100%. It was their mistake. Office never apologized but I can't go back to them for complaining. I'm banned for this. My appointments had been also cancelled jin the past just 10 min before my appointment when I lived 45 min away. Not once, but twice. I asked if I might be near menopause or be in perimenopause due to irregular periods and other symptoms and I was told that at 46, I was too young for that. My aunt was in full menopause at 46. It is not rare so my issues were not addressed because I was to young for perimenopause causing me not to receive any help at all. What kind of female gyno treats a women like this? Also I had a polyp removed. I had another one removed by another gyno int he past and it was a piece of cake, no blood or anything. But with this doctor it looked like a butchery with so many tools and blood everywhere her hands, arms, table, instruments and myself. Rude, disrespectful like I have never seen. read more

I love Dr. Akbar! She delivered both of my babies via csection - she kept me calm and made both experiences easy. She is for VBAC but said I make big babies for my little body so we went the csection route the second time around! I didn't want to do VBAC anyway so it worked out. I trust her completely and I'd recommend her to anyone who needs an obgyn! My due date was on her birthday and I asked her if she'd still be able to take care of me and she said she would tell her family/kids that mommy has to share her bday with more babies! Sure enough, my water broke on my due date so I called her at 3 am and said happy birthday, I'm in labor! She was pretty much there the whole day delivering babies left and right until me at 10 pm. First pregnancy? Look no further! Dr. Akbar is the best. She truely cares for her patients, gives them her undivided attention, best advice and comforts them. No question is a stupid question for her and she will patiently explain you everything and will walk you thru every step of your pregnancy. Not only at her office, but at hospital, when you're in labor, just having her around checking upon you itself is so comforting. She isn't someone who'll push you for a quick C section.... instead try level best to make you have a vaginal delivery. The staff is super helpful as well! Maria is great to work with for scheduling appointments or passing messages to the doctor if you have any over the phone. I would truly recommend Dr. Akbar to everyone!! read more

If you guys want to pay extra money she is the one. If you want to eat unnecessary vitamins, and unwanted ultrasound she is the one. If you want to feel cheated she is the one. There are unnecessary test conducted, i was not comfortable doing the Pap smear test but I was not given any choice. Have to pay around 600$ for ultrasound and blood test inspite of having ppo insurance. I wish I could give negative rating. I am surprise that nobody sued her till now. read more

Dr. Akbar was my Ob-gyno for a year and delivered my 3rd child. I always made my appointments on Friday mornings to avoid the dreaded extremely long wait. On one of my first f/u visits after giving birth (baby is with me!) I went on a Friday AM and was seated somewhat on time-no issues. I went into the exam room and put the oversized paper napkin on around my naked body, as instructed by the nurse/assistant. I was told Dr. Akbar would be in, in a few minutes. At least 40 minutes later, still sitting naked with a now awake fussing baby, I CALL the front desk. I inform them I am the patient in room 1 and I want to know when the doctor will be in. I'm told just a bit longer. Another 20+ minutes goes by and now I am freezing, furious and my child is super fussy. I put my clothes back on, put the baby back in the carrier and go out to the front. They know immediately how upset I am as I ask them if the doctor is at the hospital delivering a baby or dealing with an unexpected emergency. I am met with blank stares. I ask if they have attempted to call her and asses where she is or when she can be expected. They literally told me "we don't know." Several minutes later I see Dr. Akbar casually walking toward my room and the girl at the front says "she's leaving." Dr. Akbar just looks at me and I demand to sign release forms for my chart. The waiting room was completely filled. I told the front desk, I am well aware this is an OBGYN practice and things happen. But the absolute disrespect for me, my child, my time and the total lack of communication is unacceptable. The ladies 100% understood. I can handle unexpected things WHEN I AM INFORMED. Dr. Akbar is no more important than the patients she serves. I do not recommend this practice. This experience stayed with me long enough to want to write this review, especially when I saw how highly rated the office is. I had a very poor, memorable experience and hope others do not have to deal with it. read more

Words cannot explain how amazing Dr Akbar is and her team. I had the BEST experience with her for my first pregnancy I will tear up thinking about it. She was amazing at keeping me updated every step of the way until my son was born that is made labor so smooth and easy. Great office, wonderful doctor! I saw Dr Akbar for both of my pregnancies. I spent a lot of time in the office, having to have lots of visits. They were very professional, patient and caring every time. Sometimes the lobby was quieter and sometimes it was super busy. But I always felt like I had the undivided attention of Dr and staff (namely Missy) while in room. The pregnancies threw me some curveballs (some stuff a bit scary), and I always felt like I was in the best of hands. Dr Akbar is just the most personable person.. and no matter what happens, she appears cool as a cucumber and always seems to know what to do. She was the hugest comfort in some of the weirdest times for me!! Also, when Dr Akbar is your Dr and you're in Labor and Delivery, pretty much any nurse at St Alexius will tell you "Dr Akbar is my Dr too!" and then they talk about how awesome she is, which is probably another good sign :) Seriously, I'm so glad I chose this office/Dr!! I began seeing Dr. Akbar in August 2015 when I found out I was pregnant. It's been an absolute pleasure to have her care for me while pregnant and to deliver my first-born child! She wasn't my gynecologist prior to my pregnancy, but she will be going forward. Her and her staff including front desk, nurse Missy, and ultrasound tech have been amazing and I'm so thankful that I chose them for this journey. Dr. Akbar was highly recommended to me by my primary care physician, who said she is particularly well-suited for first-time pregnancies. She was absolutely right. Dr. Akbar is incredibly patient, reassuring, and capable. She was never dismissive or judgmental. I always felt better after talking to her about my concerns. I spent 5 days at the hospital after my c-section and was visited by so many nurses. They nearly all complimented Dr. Akbar and her work, describing her techniques as advanced and her incisions as perfectly straight and "works of art." Some even, in hushed tones, compared her more than favorably to other doctors at the hospital, leaving me certain that Dr. Akbar was the best and very highly regarded by the hospital staff. read more

Dr. Akbar is best! We met with several other doctors prior to my first pregnancy and she came highly recommended. We went with her and have never regretted it. Dr. Akbar is really great. I had some issues for awhile, and it has been a year and l have no problems. The office staff or who ever handles the money is the problem. I have a simple $20 copay with my HMO insurance. I did not ask for receipt, when l paid cash the first two times, and therefore kept getting bills for my copay. Maria told me she will tell the biller. I kept calling every time l received a bill. The same thing, Maria said she would have the biller call me, an nothing happened. The last time I called a few months ago, she stated if an issue, the biller will call me. I have not gotten a call or bill, so I assumed it was ok. I called today and Maria told me once again I have a balance, and there was a note to stop sending me the bills. Therefore, nothing was taken care of. I am debating to see Dr. Akbar again due to her insufficent/ money stealing staff. read more

I happened to find Dr. Akbar while browsing the Web for ObGyns during my pregnancy. We read some good reviews so we went for her, and that was the best decision my husband and I made. Dr. Akbar is a very sweet lady. She has decades of experience on her. She is very clear in all her information and diagnosis. I generally have a notepad full of questions at every visit, and she willingly and patiently answers all of them. I really really appreciate that in my doctor. The staff is very sweet. Missy and the nurse (I don't remember the name) are very helpful. They know their job very well. The office hours are also very convenient. Wednesdays, they start late so they go on till the evening. And they work every alternate Saturday so it is a huge plus for working couples. Dr. Akbar all the way! read more

Worthless, doctor, awful experience, don't waste your money on this place. On my last visit there I had waited an hour past my appointment time while people who were walking in after me were being called in right away. The doctor did not listen to my concerns, and as a proof of that I have my pdf report on their portal - where out of the long list of symptoms she only put down one! She spent 2 minutes with me at the most and offered no advice, no answers, no opinion. I paid her for nothing and in the meantime I am still suffering from my symptoms. read more

PLEASE DONT GO TO HER CLINIC. We had worst experience with Dr Samreek Akbar. My wife had an infection that got diagnosed in the very first visit. She prescribed her medication and never check up on it again. In all the visits after that she hardly spent 5 minutes with my wife. If we ask any questions she will play them down. After few weeks, my wife started experiencing the infection symptoms again, we mentioned it to Dr. Samreen Akbar, as usual she played it down. A few days later, it got severe and she agreed to see us again. She kept us waiting for more than 2 hours on that. She saw everybody first who came after us. In the end, when I expressed my concerns that why did she pass such a serious health concern for my wife? Her first response was if you are not happy then please find another OB. I was speechless, i was not looking for that answer instead I was expecting some sort of explanation or an apology? Her staff is equally rude. They never greet. Plus what ever questions the nurse asks never convey it to the doctor. There is no communication. They even gave my wife non-vegetarian vitamins when we specifically mentioned we are vegetarians. EVEN WORSE, after the incident, we started receiving fake bills form the doctor office. The bill template is completely different from the previous bills and she has put some random number up there and put lot of sticky posts like "bill due immediately", "past due", "you have high deductible plan" etc. We are educated people, when I contacted the insurance, there is no claim on us. According the the insurance website claim history, we don't owe anything. This doctor and her office is a total scam. I would encourage stay away from her. read more
