Min Jie Lee was my doctor, and she came out immediately. She was so incredibly nice and welcoming and walked me through the test with all the necessary details and patience. The test was not as bad as I thought it would be (no, they don't try to reach your brain) and was done quickly. Dr. Lee let me know I'd receive my results in 2-4 days on my app and via email and off I went! The front desk also covered the garage parking so it was free! Not even 5 minutes later they called me back to a room. The nurse came promptly to do the standard checks - weight, height, etcetera. She was very personable and I enjoyed our conversation. Once she left the doctor came a few minutes later. We realized that I needed a tetanus shot in addition to the physical and I opted just to do it that day. Even the lady doing my shot was quick - it happened in under 10 minutes. I was so surprised - talk about the fastest doctors appointment ever! They also helped me sign up for MyChart so I could see my results from my biometric screening digitally. No complaints from my visit here! Today I weigh 195 pounds and I walk around 8 to 9 miles a day. My stress level is much better now that I am walking each day and my sleep is starting to improve. The thing I like best about Dr. DeLaCruz is that he will take as much time with you as you feel you need. Sometimes I need 15 minutes and sometime I need 45 minutes but that doesn't matter at all to him. That is so rare in this day of the PPO telling the doctor how to practice medicine. Believe it or not he is the only doctor I have seen that I have seen who gave me his cell phone number in case of emergencies. In talking about his practice I can't leave out Anne. She is always there when I need her. My father is in a nursing home in Kentucky and he developed a digestive tract infection that I had never heard of. I couldn't find it on the Internet so I called Anne. She knew everything about it and explained it to me in great detail but in a way that a layman could understand. Joseph Stokes/Wellness Homes of Chicago Northstar--Keep an eye on your insurance claims!…read more Joseph Stokes and Wellness Home at Northstar filed 15 insurance claims for appointments that were never even scheduled (14 with Joseph and one with Wellness Homes CEO Maurice Brownlee); the first time that I saw the "appointments" was when I checked my insurance claims. I reported this to my insurance company and the claims were denied, but Joseph/Northstar continued to file them for four months after my last visit with him. Joseph pushes off much of his work onto his assistant Jesus (who is a gem!). For example, Joseph told me to contact Jesus if I had any questions about my labs. When I did, Jesus could not answer my questions; I don't think he's a medical provider. It seems like Joseph had not even checked my lab results because when I brought some abnormal results to his attention, he immediately prescribed me a prescription to address the side effects. That is when I switched to another medical practice. Joseph also doubled my testosterone prescription despite my historically high hemoglobin and hematocrit levels, which skyrocketed after the dosage change. He also seemingly ignored potential interactions between testosterone and my autonomic nervous system disorder, interactions that did occur and have had a tremendously negative impact on my health. Maurice Brownlee, the CEO/President of Wellness Homes of Chicago, also filed an insurance claim with my insurance company. I have never met Maurice. I spent hours on the phone trying to get this taken care of. In addition to Jesus, the nurses and front office staff are outstanding--friendly, professional and thoughtful. Also, I had one appointment with Stephanie Salamanca, and she was great. Overall, Joseph Stokes and Wellness Home at Northstar provided me with inferior healthcare and filed insurance claims for appointments that did not occur. I'm working with my current doctor to undo the harm that Wellness Homes did to me. Wellness Home at Northstar treated me with tremendous disrespect. If you are a Northstar patient, be sure to keep a close eye on all your insurance claims.

From the start, his caring, proactive approach has made me secure in the knowledge that my medical care is in great hands. On the occasions when he has been on vacation or not on call, Dr. Klein has been equally attentive. They have cared for the whole being - body, mind and spirit - that harkens back to my revered childhood doctor of the 1950s. I would recommend them (and have) to ANYONE, but the LGBT-friendly atmosphere is an added plus. I'm baffled by the comments here about the front office staff. I have always found them as caring and helpful as the rest of the office, and there certainly have been a few come and go over the years but the service has always remained constant and competent.
