It was less than two miles away so, we were on our way since the car felt to be functioning properly. When we arrived, I walked in and asked if I could get a check engine light checked. Someone shortly came out with me, hooked up the monitor and read the code. We walked back inside and he provided me with a report that identified the faulty part including the price and that they had it in stock. The report identified the MAP sensor and explained its purpose. It is part of the emission controls on the vehicle. Since I had an idea what it was, I decided to wait so that I could check out some other things. Emission controls items are normally not critical in the short term and I was confident we could drive the vehicle a while without a major problem. This is a very helpful service which we really appreciated. There were also other customers there for the same service - thanks Autozone!

On or about 10/1/14, Toyota issued a recall for this issue, whereby they would replace and install the part, free of charge. On 10/13/14, I tried to return the part, Triple Nickel refused to take the part back, stating they had a 30 day return policy. When asked why I was not told that at time of purchase but had been told if there was a problem, I could return the part. I was told "To bad." I'll never do business with them again. Being out $270. Is no laughing matter.

Your taking a risk you are getting bad parts or in my most recent dealing with them over priced and not anything they told me it was. I bought a rear end for my mustang here when I couldn't find one anywhere else. They told me it was rebuilt with 3.73 rear gears. I didn't have a clue how much they cost used at the time so they raped me for $800. I would be fine if they didn't lie to me when I got the time to put it in and I didn't even check the gears because I needed it and it was there so it was going in. Well long story short I took a ride thought something wasn't right. Took off the cover and they were 3.08 gears. Well I took too long to check and I was past warranty.

Initially, we were told that we would need to pay to replace the battery because it was allegedly failing, and that no further diagnostics could be performed until we approved the replacement. I pointed out that the vehicle was still under warranty and that we would not be paying for anything. When I returned to pick up the van, I asked what the actual problem had been and was surprised to learn that the battery was not failing at all. Imagine that!! They were prepared to charge us for a battery replacement without even knowing whether it was the cause of the issue. To make matters worse, our company was then blamed for "rigging" bolts onto the battery terminals and causing the starting problem. The only technicians who have ever serviced this vehicle are the dealership's own staff during the one "free" oil change included with the purchase of a brand-new $52,000+ vehicle. Despite this, the dealership never accepted any responsibility for causing the issue in the first place. They also never acknowledged or apologized for incorrectly claiming that the battery was failing and attempting to charge us for a replacement that turned out to be completely unnecessary. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Being pressured to pay for a repair that was not needed, having the blame shifted to our company, and seeing no accountability for either the original issue or the inaccurate diagnosis made the entire situation feel like an absolute joke. I would expect far better service and honesty from a dealership selling and servicing new vehicles. I'm so glad we no longer purchase vehicles from this company.

Best and most affordable in the area, hands down…read more I have been using Scott's Auto for almost three years now for my own and my oldest son's automotive repair needs and I can say my repair bills have been cut practically in half--for real--and our cars are running better than ever. When my husband and I moved to the area 8 years ago we tried a number of local mechanics out, hoping to get a better price than the dealership on our older, out of warrantee vehicles, and while I can't complain about any one mechanic we used, I can't sing any praises, either. One day when my Subaru left me stranded in Chambersburg, I called a friend to ask who she used in the area. She was so enthusiastic in her recommendation I actually raised an eyebrow. "Call Scott's! They're the best!! Best you'll ever find! I promise you, girl!" Listening to her go on about them, I wondered: "How does anyone love an auto repair shop?" I can say now, after several years using Scott's, that I feel just. like. her. about this place. Truly reasonable rates, genuinely honest owner, and excellent workmanship on every repair we've had done to date. If you've had bad luck with mechanics in the past, give Scott's a try. Most excellent mechanic I've ever worked with.
