It was less than two miles away so, we were on our way since the car felt to be functioning properly. When we arrived, I walked in and asked if I could get a check engine light checked. Someone shortly came out with me, hooked up the monitor and read the code. We walked back inside and he provided me with a report that identified the faulty part including the price and that they had it in stock. The report identified the MAP sensor and explained its purpose. It is part of the emission controls on the vehicle. Since I had an idea what it was, I decided to wait so that I could check out some other things. Emission controls items are normally not critical in the short term and I was confident we could drive the vehicle a while without a major problem. This is a very helpful service which we really appreciated. There were also other customers there for the same service - thanks Autozone!

Apparently, the items were by mistake sent out without being checked over for defects. The company acknowledged this and credited me for their mistake. They did advise to always get pictures emailed before ordering from a salvage yard which will be very helpful to anyone who orders. Since I couldn't remove the rating from before , I wanted to give credit to the staff who graciously helped resolve the issues with our order. The guys at the store installed a new one, and everything seemed fine, except that when she tried to restart it, no go! There is an auto repair shop across the street, they determined that the problem was actually the alternator. The kicker here is that I am in Pittsburgh, and can't do anything physically to help. I dud pay for the parts and repairs. The guys at the store went above and beyond to help her- single mom with two year old on a very hot day. People always write when they are pissed off.
