I'm leaving a long review as I was disappointed by the number and quality of dentistry reviews when finding a place to go. I scheduled my appointment via the email on Dr. Do's website, as I failed to get through on multiple separate phone call attempts. This went smoothly, though it was a two month wait for an appointment. The office is part of a small collection of offices, and is on the second floor. There are perhaps a dozen parking spaces easily available, and a parking lot for a shopping center across the street. The office is relatively small, but has multiple private areas for patients. The seating area is small, but comfortable with a fish tank to watch. The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. An assistant sat me down and gave me quite a few X-rays, as is their standard practice. Dr. Do came in after, and commented on a note that I'd made on my intake form - a great sign. She ran through my exam efficiently and gave clear feedback. Unfortunately I can't speak to the quality of her feedback, since I have no dentistry expertise, but she didn't say anything I know to be wrong. I would have appreciated a moment to ask questions as this point, but she moved on to another patient and an assistant flossed and helpfully provided a recommendation for a specific tool. I was also given a fluoride treatment. I needed to schedule a cavity drilling and filling and was able to make an appointment for a week later. I was given an estimate of what I would pay out of pocket and what insurance would cover. The default filling they offered was composite resin, though this was never said out loud, I read it on the estimate. The cavity drilling and filling went smoothly, but a small piece chipped shortly after. Dr. Do saw me quickly and for free to look over the filling.

He's been suggesting I get them for 5+ years now for my bottoms that were coming out alignment. I finally gave in and got em after chipping a tooth because my bottom teeth had become so crooked in front. Just 4 short months and my smile and bite are back to new. If you're eligible for the 'limited' Invisalign series, my suggestion would be not to wait until your teeth are so misaligned you need a full series. They cost more and they take more time. I saw Dr. Avera for about 10 years before moving out of the area…read more He's very meticulous and skillful at what he does! I had a jawbone graft and two gum grafts over the years, as well as many maintenance cleanings. I'd had some bad experiences with dentists up to that point, and unfortunately avoided the referrals I'd gotten from my dentist(s) before setting up a consultation. The ladies in the front, one does the scheduling and the other does the billing / insurance dealings. Their names escape me at the moment, but both of them are great, and frequently went the extra mile. I can tell he chooses his assistants very carefully; they did most of my periodic cleanings, and I've never had a bad experience with any of them. Dr. Avera is very pleasant, calming and works gently and efficiently. In his free time, he likes to make cool photography/art that is hanging around the office, he's also a pretty great classical guitarist!

Congratulations Dr. Gruber, you've succeeded, but I won't join the dark side so easily. In preparation, for your wiley ways, I've given up drinking soda, bought myself a sonicare toothbrush, and taken to flossing nightly. So bring it, on, cause I've got nothing to fear! In all seriousness, however, Dr. Gruber is an amazing dentist. Not only is he personable and professional, but he's more or less pain free, and he's chosen a really great and helpful staff, who deftly wield their dentist's tools with skill and compassion.
