At first I wasn't going to as it said infant boutique and the girls I was shopping for are 4 and 5. I was trying to find them a special memento to remind them of our time at the beach. After walking in the door the 5 year old exclaimed "mermaids!". She had found some cute mermaid dolls. Elaine made sure she got to see all the options they had available and chatted with her about which ones she wanted to pick out for she and her sister. She really took the time to engage her which was great. I strolled around the store and there was cute toys for all ages and a great selection of baby clothing. I could have cleaned out the store if I still had a baby to shop for. Elaine was really helpful and told me all about the stuff I should make sure to see and do before leaving Fort Bragg. What a great place, I will definitely stop in when we next go to Fort Bragg.

They give you store credit so if you were buying 100 dollars worth of things you can use only use 50 dollars of store credit and have to pay the rest. On top of all of that I brought in some clothes and gave them my number(they said they'd call me back in a week or less) and they never called me back. I went back in two weeks later and asked if they had gone through my things and they said no, but two of things I brought in were out in the store being sold. A friend of mine also brought in clothes at the same time(three months ago) and they went through mine but not his. He left a message asking what was up with that and they never returned his call. Store hours and days they're open are also so inconsistent. Super disappointed as this is the only used clothing place in town that does "trades". Maybe just advertise what it actually is which is store credit. Also the owner has never once been in when myself or anyone I know has been inside. Its a lazy business to say the least.

Justine's store is welcoming and full of interesting clothing, as well as other items ranging from lotions to teas. The femmes bought a wide range of items and I found this blue, green and grey hat knit from Susan's hand-carded, hand-spun yarn that is naturally died. Susan's knit work is glorious. The head-wear has drawn a dozen comments from folks since I got it two weeks ago on Dec. 26, during that boxing day shopping tour. I also bought two handcrafted herbal teas that helped me fight a chest cold that struck on the drive up. We visited the store twice during our five-day stay. Stop by and be ready to be enchanted.

Literally, ORGANIC GALORE... even their sketch books! It's a nice place to browse and see what they have... but of course, with most organic shops... it was very pricey. Pricey but worth it, right? But I do like natural fibers grown organically by people who receive a decent wage for doing it. And this store carries a lot of them. I've been in here several times over the years and always find something I like - whether it's an organic hemp hoodie that's really comfortable or an organic cotton sweater that's absolutely adorable or a t-shirt with a photo of George W. Here's my breakdown of pros and cons to the thrift: Pros - prices. If it's a regularly marked item, their prices are good. Dirty clothes. The people sorting do a pretty good job imo of tossing clothes that are not wearable. Once in a while they have rag bags, so that's good they're trying to keep clothes from the landfill. The people that work there. Honestly, everyone I've come across (I'm there daily it seems like) is really sweet. If you didn't know this about Mendocino co, we were one of the last counties to get rid of the mask. I was in there several times tourist came in, and was upset we had that mandate still. Folks who are working in PB put up with a lot of meanness, and still managed to be kind. Cons. Pricing up clothes that seem to have a higher value. Can we just stop this already. This misconception of what has value is getting out of hand. Marking up shoes. Again, flat prices on shoes please. All in all, PB is a good thrift store, and I appreciate having it in my home town. The prices are great, and I found some good pottery and they had so many cute teapots. Staff is friendly, I didn't get a chance to look through the clothes but the pricing sheet was very reasonable. The only thing is I wish their carts were a little more practical. They have the smaller really low to the ground carts that don't have a spot for a baby in the top. It was a little difficult to shop with my kiddos, but if you remember to put your stroller in the car (unlike me) it shouldn't be an issue.

The quality of items really ranges from very worn out to almost new and it truly is a scavenger hunt. Ended up with a golf club bag AND golf clubs for $20.
