We had them reserved for 3 hours but they weren't worried about our time limit as long as we got them back by 4:30. The owners of the shop are super chill and relaxed. We felt very welcomed in their space. It was easy to book online and they're very responsive and flexible. I will say the breaks on the bike were a little worn but didn't pose any issues for us. We felt safe riding around and had no trouble.

Rowing away from site was easy and smooth, and we floated off the side for a bit to take in the view. We didn't use up the full three hours we were booked for, but nonetheless made it quite the way before turning back. We also respectfully from a distance, saw many seals! Our pup ended up enjoying her time on the canoe, and was all smiles. She was so relaxed that she actually fell asleep on the way back while we worked to paddle against the current. I'd say totally add this to your itinerary and make sure you bring a hat, sunscreen, and water for hydration!

The equipment is ideal for the area, with plenty off choices for more intense rides. The options for "trails" are urban for the local area, and north and south for the Wineries. We had a package deal that has a guide for the first day and on our own for the second day. Our guide, Taylor, was way cool. A local farmer/roadie/ San Fran local, with keen intel on the farming/bio-dynmic/ foodie/ family history. He clearly has a great history and relationship with the folks we stopped at and every bit was personable and flexible. He had an excellent read on the strength and weakness of the group. Overall, we did a gentle 20 miles on cushie bikes and drank a touch more wine then is good for willfully concurring the hills. We had a group of 6 and took a north loop that peaked at Quivira with the most spectacular bio-dynamic gardens. I mean bees, pigs, chickens and just the coolest raised beds I have ever seen. Seriously, I could happily retire and intern here. Our second day, was on our own on the southern route, me thinks just about 23 miles. My Aunt made it to Porter Creek (not on purpose) but I peaked at Thomas George Estate. We followed recommendations and lunched at Arista. Worthy!!! This is another heaven on Earth spot. It is not over rated. My only small complaint, on the second day (far beyond the control of the good folks at Wine County Bikes was the aggressive construction truck drivers. Mind you...there is a consistent "you're going to get hurt bad if you come off the road" with no clear bike lane. With that said the greater majority of cars, albeit fast, are very good about dealing with "tourist bike riders". Highly recommended!!!!!!

It's a small family shop with pretty much anything you'd need for some outdoor activities. Of course Gualala prices are more expensive than most other cities, but it makes sense since it's a small coastal town. It's better to pack whatever you want to do, but this spot is always a good backup for the things you might have forgotten. They also have a lot of souvenirs which I'm sure make up a lot of the business. They've always had anything from hoodies or shirts, all the way to shot glasses and keychains. If you want a souvenir, or anything sport related, this is the spot you'd go. Service that I've experienced has been friendly and welcoming.

He seemed happy to help me get outfitted and answered all my questions with positivity. When I brought the gear back today, Bob was super kind and enthusiastic. When he heard how much I enjoyed my experience in the water, he offered to let me purchase the wetsuit I had worn and what seemed to be a great price. The clerk inside was also super helpful and patient in finding me booties and a leash for my board. Great team and group of folks! I will be back as I need more gear for sure!
