My husband had ordered me sunflowers because those are my absolute favorite flowers and also ordered stuff for our daughter and he is deployed right now so he ordered them online and they called me letting me know they weren't delivering anymore that I'd have to get them and the stuff my husband ordered for our daughter they didn't have so they'd have to refund him on those two and so they finally called me back a few hours later and told me my order was ready and come to find out they were the wrong flowers and everything and to top it off when I walked in I was greeted nor acknowledged right away and finally someone came to me after they were done with a customer. Do not call around Valentine's Day. They do not answer the phone. I had to go to the store after calling six times with no answer. It took 30 minutes to put in my order and the phone rang the entire time and no one answered the phone, the day before Valentine's Day. The lady who took my order was very nice and the flowers are always gorgeous. 2/14/13 Update they did not deliver my wife her flowers today. You would think when you spend $100 they would get them to the person on time. But they did not. Changed it to 1 star. read more

I live out of town and ordered a plant for my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day. I did this order online through Flowers from you. Well I had such a hastle with that company and she did not receive her plant but received flowers three days after Mother's Day. The company said there were no plants available in San Angelo and they would have to substitute for flowers. Well after a long conversation with the company they made it right by sending her flowers from Shirley's. They were beautiful BUT Shirley's went a step above that. They did have the plant we originally ordered and they also delivered that to my Mother-in-law free of charge. Although the original problem was not Shirley's fault they went out of there way to make things right! I am so grateful for that. A friend was having an art gallery opening and I desperately wanted to be there but could not get away. So I did the next best thing, sent flowers. I called up Shirley Floral because I successfully used them before and gave them about 24 things I did not want and ended with "tall, subdued and classy". HORRIBLE SERVICE! I had placed an order online for a spray to be delivered to the funeral of the mother of my best friend. I live in another city and can not attend the services. I wanted something really nice in honor of my friend's mother. Placed the order and then called Shirley Floral to make sure the order came through ok. It took them 15 minutes to locate the online order. They then came back and said they didn't carry what I had ordered but could still make something very similar. We talked through it. Online, I had already authorized a total of a little over $160. The kid on the phone said that what they could would start me at $300!!! I asked to speak to the manager, Ashley. Ashley was courteous but did nothing to try to remedy the situation. I told her I wanted to cancel the order. Shirley Floral used to be the best. Since they were bought out it has gone downhill and the staff are totally inept! Shame on you! Train your staff! read more

Upon entering the store to pick up an order, was not greeted at first and when I was finally acknowledged, it was with attitude- which did soften as the exchange continued but still- off to a bad start. The flowers- 6 single stem roses of pink yellow and red with filler of small daisy like flowers. Roses were browning on their edges. I was picking up the flowers my husband ordered for me, and only found out later that he paid $75?! Definitely not worth the money. Grocery stores carry fresher flowers. read more

I have a lot of flowers done here. Recently I had 2 $500 casket sprays done the last one was 4 hrs late to funeral home plus the base showed on top of casket. I so disappointed and so was every one else.It looked like a $300 casket spray. Very Unprofessional. Also had a easel spray made it was so small and they delivered it on a tall easel instead of small easel. very unsatisfactory Will never use them again. read more

My boyfriend ordered flowers for me-- never received them. He called them to see what happened and they told him that the flower will be delivered later on that day or early the next morning--nothing. So he went back later in the day and was told with an attitude of course, that he was out of luck. Of course he asked for a refund and left. I was ordering flowers for my mothers birthday & they did everything I asked!! I was pleased with the delivery and all the confirmations you get! The only "complaint" I had was the quality of the flowers wasn't very good. They offer you a good, better or best option but they are $20 for each upgrade! They are a bit pricey but the flower business usually is. Other than that they were great & have many options to choose from. Overall I was happy & will use again. read more

Last night after midnight, I decided I wanted to send my sister-in-law flowers for hosting a Christmas party for the whole family. I ordered online. This morning I received a confirmation phone call to verify small changes due to flower supply. The flowers were delivered by 2pm today and were beautiful. I'll order online without hesitation. Oh so very disappointed in this florist. I ordered a plant to be delivered to my father on his birthday two days ago. I just got a call from my dad and he told me he got a message from the florist calling to tell him about some flowers that needed to be delivered. He said he called back to arrange for a time to have the flowers delivered and the florist said they don't do that sort of thing. He said the lady who talked to him was very pert and not at all accommodating. My father said no one attempted to deliver the flowers today. Side note: the cost of the plant was charged to my card minutes after I placed the order by phone. I believe it should be the rule that I (the customer) am not charged until the plant is delivered and the customer is happy. By the way--my father turned 79 two days ago without knowing how much his daughters, who live out of town, love him because HE DID NOT GET THE PLANT THEY SENT HIM! My father was puzzled because he uses this florist all the time to send roses to his 78 year old lady friend and they always ask him for a delivery time. My suggestion to anyone wanting to utilize the services of this florist to take your business and money elsewhere!!! read more

This place doesn't even deserve a star but I'm in a giving mood today. This place is horrible! I ordered online for my moms birthday (I don't live locally) and they failed to deliver and had the nerve to say they couldn't find my order. Although I was charged the amount for the flowers, I couldn't get a refund until they figured out what was wrong with them. Eventually, they found it and promised a refund. I'm still waiting for it. I tried to give them a 2nd chance when I came into town and walked into the store to try and get some flowers AGAIN and the lady at the front was so rude. Never mind and no thank you! Shirley Floral is rude and unprofessional and doesn't even deserve the one star I gave them. My boyfriend tried to send me flowers for valentines day but when they realized it was coming from a guy and going to a guy they changed their tone and got very rude. They took his money but I never got any flowers. I agree that you have the right to refuse service if you are uncomfortable with same sex couples, but you should turn us down in a calm and professional manner instead of being rude, taking our money, and then never giving us what we paid for. If you support equality don't give your business to Shirley Floral and let all your equality supporting friends know too. read more

I loved working with Shirley floral, especially with Jill. They accomodated my small wedding arrangements within my budget and with expert advice. I didn't know exactly what flowers I wanted and they helped me with such guidance. My flowers turned out absolutely beautiful, each boquet coming in a vase in a cardboard box so they travelled well. They also lasted about a week, so we continued to enjoy them! Jill also accomodated my special request of wrapping a favorite pendant necklace into my bridal boquet exactly as I had imagined. With Valentine's Day coming up I felt the need to share this story. Last year I used Shirley and ordered the flowers on February 1st, to arrive sometime before noon on Valentine's Day. The flowers were delivered around 10:00 PM, waking up my two year old daughter. The product was underwhelming and the unreasonable delivery time infuriated me. The delivery lady was rude and the overall experience was terrible. I would recommend anyone ordering flowers to choose another florist. read more

Ordered an $80.-- bouquet for my daughters birthday. she received a bouquet that was hideous looking, with flowers that were already dropping petals. Called and got really bad attitude. Then I had the bouquet picked up and selected a different bouquet. Neither bouquets came close to resembling what I selected. The second one looked like something you would send to a funeral. or something a husband would send his wife when he was in really bad trouble. Neither was like the beautiful bouquet that I selected. For anyone from the San Angelo area, this florist is not locally owned any longer and the service is horrible! This is the first review I have ever written, but Shirley's deserves it. I called to order flowers for a graveside service and because I was concerned about the person who took the order went to the florist on the morning of the services to confirm the order and the type of flowers. Delivery was scheduled for 9:00 AM and at 8:45 I was told the order was on the truck and everything was fine. Flowers arrives 5 minutes before the services and the three phone call I made to inquire as to where the flowers were, each time I was told they were on the way. San Angelo is not a metropolitan city with traffic problems on a Saturday morning. There was no explanation or apology for the delay and the flowers arrived 55 minutes late. During the service they showed up with an arrangement that forgot to deliver when they delivered the others. Terrible customer service and never even got a phone call back from the manager when I called to complain. I won't even bore you with the flowers which were not the colors or type ordered. read more

Ordered a large bouquet of fresh daisies and stated they were needed to brighten someones terrible day - - and to note same on the card. This call was placed a bit after noon for delivery to a local hospital before 5PM. What was sent - half dozen roses with some greenery. Called to discuss the $85.00 daisies . . told they'd send the original order right away. The subsequent delivery had four daisies! We've used this firm for 40+ years, but will no more. read more

I'm like a dog that returns to its vomit. I keep trying Shirley's Floral and get the same unhappy outcome. The delivery service never gave me a time and I had to go to the shop to get the flowers since no one was home at the random time they showed up. The driver called late to reschedule which was not feasible. The flowers were wilted on the edges. The size of the full price roses were fairly small. Flowers from the grocery store last longer, which is where I will be buying them. There is limited competition in San Angelo, so there's no impetus for Florists to provide quality service or flowers. read more
