    Flower Arrangement / Flower Bouquet

    Decided to show my gratitude to my neighbors of 4 years and get them some flowers. Stemmed Designs assisted in this spur of the moment effort with a nice arrangement of flowers. Although Stemmed Designs didn't offer any form of salutation, I stopped by another establishment and selected a nice signature card to add the final touch to this gifted arrangement.

    Buyer beware: $80 for 3 roses, 3 tulips, 3 lillies and filler in a plain glass vase I called in a order from out of town based on the good reviews on Yelp and the lovely photos they had on their website. I asked for a cheerful, jewel-toned arrangement for my 90 year old grandmother who was in the hospital. I explained to them that my Grandmother was very discerning and asked them to give the order to their best artist. I was informed that they cater exclusively to "high-end customers"- their words. I paid $80 for the arrangement. The arrangement arrived promptly as promised, but what she received was three yellow roses, three stargazer lillies, three purple tulips and some filler material in a clear glass vase. I chose this florist because they claimed to have unique designs. This arrangement could have come from any florist... at half the price. Apparently in San Angelo "high-end" means something different than in San Antonio. When I asked why the original arrangement didn't look more like the ones on their website, they informed me that the website shows things they don't make and that it needed to be updated. When I called to rectify the situation, they offered to create a new arrangement for my grandmother. The second arrangement was lovely, and they would have been happy to send it to her... for another $80. The other option was that they would go into my Grandmother's hospital room, take the original bouquet and leave the new one for the original price (Mind you, she had no idea about the florist's mistake and I certainly didn't want to tell her). I feel that the original bouquet was not what I asked for and was very much overpriced, however, I couldn't allow them to take away a bouquet from my sick grandmother! How mean! Since I didn't want to pay $160 to receive what I originally asked for, I politely declined to have the second arrangement delivered to her. I called a second florist in San Angelo and received a lovely and artistic arrangement for $50- My grandmother loves it! I feel like Stemmed Designs CAN make beautiful and unique arrangements (the second one truly was very artistic and lovely- I would have been happy if she received that one originally). If you choose to use this florist, I would specify exactly what you want (maybe provide a photo) and pick it up to check on the quality. I wouldn't recommend ordering from out of town and having it delivered sight-unseen to a loved one. I am awarding two stars due to the promptness of the original arrangement and for the artistry of second (unpurchased) arrangement. I would also recommend that the business update their website to reflect their current arrangements. Your website and the word of your staff is all out-of-town customers have to go on.

I got a call from the florist that lilies for the arrangement might not be available by the time they delivered my order because so many orders ahead of mine also called for lilies. I asked them to do whatever they thought best to make it pretty for my friend (because this lovely person is now a friend of mine, too). I ordered a plant for my mother as a token of my condolence for the loss of her beloved pet. The plant I selected from their website was just what I was looking for (or so I thought). I was actually impressed with the delivery time- so that was a positive. However, when my mom sent me a picture of what was delivered, it was a sad excuse of a succulent and definitely NOT what I ordered or what was represented on their website. See the pictures for yourself. Sadly, I had to tell my mom I'm sorry for the plant that arrived because it looked pitiful. My mom had to take time out of her day to drive to the florist to show her what was delivered, thinking the situation would be supported with customer service--it was not. It was neither service nor customer friendly. The "florist" presented excuse after excuse, rather than being supportive and making the situation right. Finally, after much dispute and back and forth, the "florist" replaced the plant with a new container-this took 5 days! The replacement was better but still not what was ordered. And to add offense to injury, "florist" wanted the original container returned. Are you kidding me? I will never use this florist again. Customer service is simple: listen, know how to apologize, take ownership, and go the extra mile. They must be drowning in business because none of these approaches were taken, so they don't need my repeat business and they don't need yours!
