No trip to Hinckley is complete without a stop at Tobies Restaurant & Bakery. For generations, it…read morehas been a must-visit destination for travelers heading, making it much more than just a restaurant. It's a Minnesota tradition. As soon as I announced I was going to Hinckley everyone who had been told me I just had to try Tobie's. What makes Tobies special is the combination of comfort food, an incredible bakery, and the nostalgic feeling that comes with walking through the doors. Fresh-baked breads, pastries, pies, cookies, and their famous caramel rolls line the bakery shelves, while their signature cornbread is a favorite that many visitors take home. Be sure to browse the gift shop, where you'll find locally made products, snacks, and their popular popcorn blends that make great road trip treats or souvenirs. Whether you're stopping for breakfast before exploring the area, grabbing lunch on your way to a Hinckley Knights game, or picking up baked goods for the drive home, Tobies is part of the experience. Our favorites were the apple fritter and the caramel roll. We also picked up bread and English muffins. If we had any more room we would have tried the ice cream, but there is always next time.

We made our stop about 8am on a Sunday in June. We didn't go to the sit-down restaurant, just the bakery counter. We picked out an apple fritter, maple fried roll, and cinnamon roll. My husband had a coffee, too. I'm very glad they had napkins and also packaged moist towelettes for us to take as we headed out. Everything was quite good. The apple fritter was special because it was still warm, and so fresh that it still had an airy texture. The bite of maple fried roll I had was good. The bulk of the cinnamon roll was mine, and wow, it was fantastic. I loved the generous amount of frosting, and the bread was soft and good. There are many more things here I want to try, but they will need to wait for another trip north!

Anton's... Suddenly, after exploring St. Cloud, MN--a city…read morethat isn't particularly charming but where you can stroll around and see a few sights--you wander about and suddenly step into a place that I'd call enchanted if it weren't for the fact that there are no fairies or elves. It's home to the beautiful, calm, and peaceful Sauk River. Geese, ducks, ducklings, and a garden to enjoy the view of the river. Inside, there's a warm, welcoming, and hospitable atmosphere. Jaclin is very friendly and professional. The family had a great time, and the geese were happy since we gave them some snacks. Among other things, as a chef, I recommend the Spam skewers--yes, Spam--and the BBQ ribs, which are fantastic. Good selection of drinks, and behind the bar, very skilled hands. Until next time...

The popover was the star of the show with its giant size and a delish honey butter paired with it. The moonshine sirloin was flavorful and I definitely would get it again. The duck breast was not my favorite and honestly, I was expecting more for the price and after it was talked up to be a favorite. But overall I'd love to come again in the summer when the weather is nice and I can see the river!

It was quieter this time and loved that they kept on cleaning. It was very clean and I can see why. Entry and bathroom too. Another great experience here. New menu items were also very tasty! I recommend giving them a try. Unique and delicious. Absolutely loved eating here! It was rather busy but the server never let it show. I got the Brisket melt. The cheese was perfectly melted. The brisket was flavorful and tender. Sandwich was perfectly toasted. Tried fried potatoes instead of fries and they were very good. Perfectly crispy and a good portion. My daughter loved the birthday sprinkle pancakes and sausage. We also got coffee and hot chocolate, both were fresh and hot. The server really made her feel special, which made my momma heart happy. She was happy to add the sprinkles and whip cream my daughter requested on her hot chocolate. It was also very clean. Even the entry way carpets were spotless! Between tables the server was cleaning, which was refreshing. The restrooms were also clean, smelled good, and looked freshly mopped. Thank you! Lots of laughter and full bellies in our group.

They said they didnt know what to do, they even said they heard the dishwasher had his check bounce too. I am concerned if this is happening why and what is wrong that they are bouncing. This is wrong and should never happen. Denny's we pay our bill everytime we eat there and that means that your employees should be getting their paychecks too and NOT bouncing. I pay my bill pay your employees!!!

Sunday November 2nd, 2025 @6 PM **…read moreWe went to dinner--six of us! My treat! The restaurant was full and bustling with people, families and a few large groups. Most of the large groups were there before we got there and had already been served drinks, their food came out shortly after that. Our food took over an hour and when the appetizers finally came out, the chips were not completely cooked and they were full of grease. My son's steak was like a hockey puck. We had to have the waitress take it back and get him another one. They were out of broccoli so they substituted green beans and, they were mushy and tasteless. One of the burgers did not have pico de gallo on it --and yes it was supposed to! My daughter didn't even want to send it back, she was afraid it would take another hour. The waitress kept apologizing, but seemed frustrated and short with us. The manager didn't show up until the shit show was over!--and then tried to smooth everything over by bringing out the remade steak, (all smiles and apologies of course) Our bill was almost $200, I didn't complain to the manager, because obviously he was already aware of everything. I just paid at the table then we left. I would just like to mention we have been at this Applebees many times before and never had this bad experience. I have a very large family, so the time spent together and the quality of the meal does matter, due to the cost we don't do it very often. NOTE TO MANAGER -- if you're busy, I totally get it, let the food take an hour, but the quality of the food should not be compromised! Otherwise, if your kitchen cooks can't handle the volume of the customers, you shouldn't seat them, and in doing so you're giving your customers and your employees a horrible experience !
