Dr. Nassir is in a class entirely his own. I have never met a doctor like him…read more My husband has faced more medical challenges than most people experience in a lifetime--cardiac arrest, heart transplant, dialysis, kidney transplant, strokes, prostate cancer, parasitic infection, diabetic wounds, spine, rib, and tibia fractures and surgery, amputations... and that's just the short list. We've grateful to have been blessed with excellent medical care over the years, but we have never encountered a physician like Dr. Nassir. We were referred to him after more than 20 medical visits in a single month. My immunosuppressed husband had developed an aggressive squamous cell carcinoma that went from a tiny pimple to a 5 cm x 4 cm x 2 cm thick blackened, mushroom‑like mass on his right temple, extending under the skin to a large lump at his parotid gland and into the lymph nodes in his neck. After consultations at three premier medical centers, we were left with little hope. We were preparing to go home and make the best of what we thought would be his final days. At a last visit with my husband's long‑time primary care doctor--someone we trust implicitly--he told us, "Not all the best doctors are at the premier medical centers," and said he knew the best oncologist in the area. He texted Dr. Nassir, explained the situation, and Dr. Nassir told us to come in at 9 AM THE NEXT MORNING. Not in two weeks. Not when convenient. The next day. At that first visit, Dr. Nassir spent TWO FULL HOURS with us. He carefully reviewed my husband's extensive medical history and every test and consultation from the previous month. While we sat in his office, he called multiple physicians--including two who had already seen my husband and two nationally recognized experts. Every one of them picked up the phone. His assistant, Jose, worked seamlessly beside him, taking notes, pulling records, and preparing referrals in real time. What would normally take weeks happened in a single visit. By the end of that visit, Dr. Nassir had a clear plan: urgent surgery, followed by concurrent radiation and chemotherapy. For the first time in weeks, we felt the fog lift. We left knowing exactly what needed to happen and who needed to be involved--including a radiation oncologist who has since been repeatedly confirmed to be the best in his field. Throughout that visit, staff members quietly stepped in with urgent issues from other patients. Each time, Dr. Nassir gave them his full attention, then returned to us without missing a beat. The new‑patient paperwork had warned that wait times could be long. After that day, I knew I would never complain. If I ever wait to see him, it's because he is giving someone else the same life‑saving attention he gave us. Since that February appointment, my husband has undergone successful surgery and is now nearing the end of a seven‑week treatment plan--five days a week of radiation at Cedars‑Sinai and two days a week at Dr. Nassir's nearby Cancer Care Institute (chemotherapy, IV fluids, labs, and nurse practitioner consultations). He is doing well, and we are hopeful he will beat this cancer. At the very least, we now have more time--time for his two young grandchildren to truly know and remember their grandpa. The entire staff has been exceptional. * Sona, the office manager, knows us personally and creates a supportive environment. * Rosanna and Nana, the chemo nurses, are skilled and attentive. * Mark and Madeleine, the nurse practitioners, ensure every concern is addressed and reviewed with Dr. Nassir. * The front office team is constantly busy yet always available and kind. I would not hesitate for a moment to refer any friend or family member facing cancer to Dr. Nassir. He and his team are in the business of saving lives, and they do it with expertise, urgency, and extraordinary humanity.

The wait is ridiculous and when they do call your name the visit is usually with the NP,not the doctor. Medications if called in are usually wrong and the lack of empathy in the staff shows. Too bad it's turned out like this. I used to rave about this doctor and his office. Now I regret going there. Seems they forgot they are working with cancer patients who need professionalism and kindness. A stage 4 cancer patient waiting to be seen for 2 to 3 hours is ridiculous. Sometimes greed takes over compassion.

I felt more concerned during the waiting period because I wasn't being put at ease, and the lack of communication at the initial visit felt like a red flag and had me even more stressed. I also felt that the Pap smear exam was more uncomfortable than I had ever experienced before, and I had aching afterward, which I hadn't gone through with previous exams. That added to my initial worry. I did consider changing doctors, but that would have meant waiting even longer. Since my OB-GYN spoke highly of him as a surgeon, I decided to trust her recommendation. She really helped keep me calm throughout the process. I ended up having a LEEP procedure followed by a radical hysterectomy due to early-stage cervical cancer, with my ovaries preserved. My surgery went very well, and my post-operative care and recovery were handled excellently. In the end, I am very happy and satisfied with my decision. He is an excellent surgeon, my outcome was positive, and I would absolutely recommend him.

And she also canceled my appt. today after waiting for 4 months on my appt. I called and request to speak with the doctor and they denied him and just said that I'll received a letter. We complain about the calls , it's hard to get in touch with them. But we both file a grievance with our insurance. Will keep you posted about this incident. Words cannot fully express my gratitude to Dr. Cohen…read more A different surgeon had stated I urgently needed surgery, warned that exercise was dangerous for my condition, and stated he would clear his schedule to operate as soon as possible. I felt uneasy about this assessment, and had read online that this doctor has performed "unnecessary surgeries". At the suggestion of my internist, I saw Dr. Cohen for a second opinion. I'm so glad I did. Dr. Cohen took the time to thoroughly review my situation and said that I do NOT need surgery right now. He assured me it's safe to exercise, and that if anything changes, surgery can still be considered--but I may not need it at all! Dr. Cohen explained everything clearly, and I trust him. Thank you, Dr. Cohen!

Wow, wow, wow -- what an incredible experience with this office from start to finish…read more From the moment I booked my appointment, Maribel made everything so streamlined and easy. The check-in process was smooth, efficient, and welcoming. Meeting Dr. Jason Cohen was truly an absolute pleasure and an honor. He has exceptional bedside manner -- approachable, kind, confident, and reassuring. I immediately felt secure and safe in his hands. He is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, yet remains humble and deeply caring, which is rare and so meaningful as a patient. Dr. Cohen went above and beyond by making it possible for me to see another specialist the very next day -- he truly moved mountains and brought me immense peace of mind. I am beyond grateful for his care and dedication. We are incredibly lucky to have Dr. Jason Cohen as a provider. Thank you for this amazing experience and for allowing me to be under such exceptional care.

While treatment was progressing well, we felt supported and informed. However, our experience changed significantly when treatment options were no longer effective. Once we chose a hospice provider different from the one his office works with, communication and involvement ended abruptly. At a very vulnerable stage, this felt like a sudden withdrawal of support. Patients with advanced cancer often need the same level of guidance -- if not more -- when treatments stop working. Continuity and compassion during this transition are critical. I strongly encourage families to clarify in advance what level of involvement to expect if hospice care is arranged outside of the physician's preferred network, especially when care shifts from treatment to end-of-life support. Because of this experience, I am giving two stars. **Update 3/15/26 - Someome in behalf of the UCLA care team, responded to my original review asking that I submit my concerns through the official website, which I did as requested. However, I have not received any reply, acknowledgment, or follow-up since submitting it. Given the seriousness of the situation and the fact that my mother was cut off from Dr. Arzoo's care after we chose not to proceed with the hospice he recommended, the lack of response has been very disappointing.
