Ever just get craving for a maple donut? The struggle is real, I was craving a maple donut, and by now it was close to 4 pm so I knew the odds of finding one was going to be slim. I remembered seeing Shipley's Do-Nut when driving down the street so that's where I was headed in search of that Maple Donut goodness! This Shipley's Do-Nut had a drive thru window, but since I have never been I needed to check the place out. I was greeted once I walked in, but needed time to check things out, after a quick look I was already distracted by a bright pink sprinkled donut that I just had to have in my life haha. After checking everything out and having my daughter with me, we walked out with pink sprinkled donuts, apple fritters, a chocolate filled donut and some glazed ones for free since it was Shipley's Anniversary and a maple donut! The donuts tasted great, the chocolate filled donut was the best filled donut I have had in a very long time, it was like a fluffy chocolate ganache stuffed into a soft fluffy donut, it was sweet bliss for sure! You cant get any better than this. Shipleys donuts are always fresh, warm and delicious. The glazed icing is not overly thick and sweet--its just right. The donuts fold into themselves as they're so fresh. With other brands of donuts you have to eat almost the whole donut before you get any jelly or filling. Not so with Shipley's. Every bite is filled with goodness. The servers are always pleasant, courteous, and quick. Let me just say, BEST DONUTS I'VE EVER HAD!!!! My husband and I have traveled to try different donuts. These are by far our #1 favorite. I tried a cherry iced glazed and a cream filled glazed. The cream filled is a light marshmallow kind of flavor. So light and fluffy. I tried my husbands. He had a coconut iced and a blueberry cake. I was stunned by the blueberry. Okay I do not eat donuts all the time, but I have been to most of the Shipley donuts in Houston. While in League City my friend asked me to pick up some donuts from the Shipley's near her Houston. When I got there, man it was busy. I walked in, and it had a family donut shop feel to it. It was pretty nice. They have a decent selection of donuts and kolaches. While the donuts taste pretty much like any other Shipley's donuts, the service and feel makes this a pretty nice establishment. read more

I love doughnuts and was so excited to try a Shipley's since it had a five star rating. I figured that it couldn't get any better. I was even more excited when I arrived and found the drive through with a long line and a long line inside. I always judge a doughnut shop by their regular glazed and their cinnamon rolls. They both were dense and more of the glazed sugar ended up on the floor than in my mouth. They were good, but there was nothing special. I would go back, but they are not my favorite. read more

Shipley's are the best donuts in the country. With that being said, not all Shipley's are created equal. This Shipley's is the best one I have ever been to. Their donuts are the BOMB. Also, many Shipley's sell kolaches. However, this location has the best Kolaches that I have eaten at a Shipley's. I guess the one drawback on this location is the size of the business. The building is very small and crowded. The drive-thru only allows two cars at a time. The third car blocks part of the street which will always require some donut hater to honk at you. Park and go in. It's worth it. Employees are friendly and efficient. Not real chatty but honestly, they don't have time to chit-chat. read more

Not sure if I was just very hungry but damn Shipley's doughnuts were delicious. Bought two items: apple fritter and a Chocolate creme filled doughnut. Apple fritter was epic....it was very large and fried wonderfully with a slight crisp on the glaze and even better the apple compote inside was still warm. Chocolate creme filled doughnut was just as good, the chocolate creme was smooth and sweet and just oozed slowly out when I bit into the soft and still warm dough. Coffee was surprisingly good too. I apologize for not posting any pictures as my visit to Shipley's was kind of a spur of the moment road trip stop, and I quickly consumed them in the car. read more

love my local shipley's! minus one star for the lack of eat-in atmosphere. most order to go or back up traffic waiting in the drive-thru line. me? i love to sit down and enjoy the goodness immediately. i like cinnamon rolls. my first time there, i wanted an old fashion but ordered wrong and ended up with the glazed roll rather than the frosted roll. after learning how to order correctly, i didn't like the old-fashioned cinnamon roll due to the raisins. yes, i'm a cinnamon roll purist. from there, i graduated to cinnamon twists, chocolate cake and chocolate iced. once i got a chocolate filled, and that was more sweet that i could deal with, plus, i had dripping brown, sticky goo all over my face: never the image you want to project to your neighbors on a saturday morning. once, i was lucky enough to get a hot, fresh cinnamon twist, and that was my favorite. i have also recently started getting the sausage and cheese kolaches, which aren't bad. after watching people order, i learned you have to ask for "hot glazed donuts" -- and that is definitely worth it. the budget minded ought to love the donut holes. read more

I wanted to start my Saturday off with one of Shipleys delicious ice coffees that I had heard so much about and a couple dozen donuts. Well to my surprise I stopped at the one and only Shipleys on the planet that doesn't sell them. The rude lady at the drive-up window was the one that informed us of this, offering no other options. She just blankly looked at us after telling us the news. Now before you think we'll I was just upset about them not offering ice coffee no not at all. This was never going to make or break my day because I had never tasted them anyway. Plus I would have just order my donuts no problem. I should have known better when I pulled into this place that literally look like it was born in the 1920 absolutely nothing wrong with that I like vintage. So lesson learned don't stop here if you're looking for excellent customer service and definitely don't come for the ice coffee. read more

Not a particularly good donut shop. Kolache's are a Texas breakfast tradition. Ship let's Kolache's are the worst. It is a piece of sausage with a bit of heavy wet unleavened bread wrapped around it. The dough is like raw bread dough. Try adding some yeast or even baking powder. read more

I'll start by saying we LOVE Shipleys. My kids love the donut holes and the blueberry donut is my husbands go to. We go pretty often, either inside or through the drive thru. However, when we go through the drive thru, the lady who runs it is just unbelievably mean. She goes "mmhmm" and shuts the window as soon as she can. She is insanely blunt and just overall rude. She makes it unenjoyable to go to this donut shop which is a shame because like I said we love this place. Customer service is not hard, I don't understand why she lacks it. This is an iconic donut shop in old League City, I feel like it should have the same polite and kind charm it once had. read more
