This place is a Texas staple. I had them for the first time in Houston a few years ago and now visiting Dallas got to visit again and just as amazing as I remembered! Tried the jalapeño/sausage/cheese kolache and donut holes also. Both delicious. The real winners here are the crunchy donut, the stuffed ones, and the plain glazed. The prices here also can't be beat! Best donuts in Texas, for sure.

These are pretty decent. I like the donuts, honestly my favorite is the classic regular glazed! They're so yummy. I'm a very picky donut eater, too. The kolaches are "good enough" but not mind blowing. If you're starving, then they're amazing lol. Other than that they're just like regular hot dogs in a bun with cheese & jalapeño pieces around it, not in the hot dog itself. The coffee was good. I asked for cream & sugar and I feel they put just enough. Not too sweet but also not bitter. The line was HUGE! I guess the drive thru is pretty popular these days, obviously. So the line does wrap around the corner onto abram street. We probably had 11 cars ahead of us when we got there but it flows smooth. Good pricing. Paid about $20 for a red bull, small coffee, 6 kolaches, and that dozen of donuts. Good value for sure.

Best donuts in town. You get variety and at a very reasonable pricing. Their spicy sausage and cheese is tasty. If you wake up early in the morning and are looking for a breakfast place, this is where you can go.

Anytime I am on Abram street, I stop by for some donut holes. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as donut flavors are concerned. But Shipley's does it right. You can tell they haven't spent money on the outside of their building but they spend all their time making great donuts. Chocolate glaze is awesome, and who doesn't like a good apple fritter? Make the donut stop to Shipley's it's worth it! read more

Way better than your average bear claw! Warning : This old school donut shop is a danger to your waistline! The donuts here are soooo delicious they're addictive. I had such a bad addiction to their chocolate iced and glazed donuts, I would go to downtown Arlington and buy half a dozen, eat them all, and not tell my kids. Yes, the first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem, but I don't plan on quitting my Shipley's donut addiction anytime soon. This place is hands down the best donut shop in DFW. read more

These "do-nuts" are pretty darn good! I had a glazed cake and white creme filled. They were very light and flaky, not like the real heavy thick donuts. Very flavorful but not too sweet, no weird aftertaste either. They have a big variety and the shop is really clean...I'll definately go back! read more

Shipley is a pretty awesome doughnut spot, but this location has a very rude lady that works up front just horrible. If you don't mind the early morning attitude be my guess, but no one needs that early in the morning she sucks so my opinion makes the location sucks. read more

Shipley's use to be great back in the day. I got a plain frosted donut that was to chewy and not sweet at all like a donut should be. It tasted just like a grocery store donut which there is nothing wrong with my local grocery donuts. I just expect more from an established donut shop. Oh well I'll stick to my neighborhood shop. read more

Found this place thanks to all the other Yelpers! Very thankful because my group of friends came down to Arlington to visit Six Flags and we had no idea where to eat in the area. I have to admit I've seen a few Shipley's here and there since my move to Texas, but hadn't heard any spectacular comments about their donuts. Well today, I would no longer pass them by, especially since I did my homework and they sell kolaches too!!! Sold! It's a small little store with a handful of parking spaces. Apparently everyone likes to wait in the drive thru lane anyway!...including mwah! Note: There's no convenient menu board for one to review while in the drive thru. I actually felt a little anxiety as I waited in line since it was my 1st time and all...almost as if I were in the infamous "soup line". Would I hear those dreaded words, "No Soup For You!", for not being prepared to order?! Nope, the exact opposite! There's an easily visible menu once you drive up and I was greeted with a patient smile. Sausage & Cheese Kolache and a Shipley Do-not please! Boy did I make the right choice! Each bite of my kolache, although mostly bread, was as soft as a pillow and the ooey gooey cheese was just what my tummy needed! Why wait to eat the donut if the kolache was that good right?! Exactly!!! Warm and flakey...soft and fluffy...delicious! Shipley I'll be back! (in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice)... That is all!... read more

Located in an old building in downtown Arlington, this Shipley's knows what they're doing! I love to watch them make them fresh. My favorites are the original glazed. My kids have tried many of the other kinds and loved all of them. If donuts were healthy, I would eat Shipley's donuts everyday! read more

The best donuts in Arlington, possibly a wider area. Fantastic, and the glazed chocolate donuts are fantastic! (It's a glazed donut that is chocolate). The drive through isn't really faster than going inside. A really cute place to stop in for a quick treat. The donut on top is adorable. Service is satisfactory, usually not much more than that. Looses one star, unfortunately, because the coffee SUCKS. Absolutely terrible. I know this is a common phenomenon for donut shops (at least in Texas), but shipley is so good in other areas that it's really inexcusable to have such a glaring oversight. In short, go here for donuts and grab a starbucks or something for coffee. read more

I have loved this place for many years now. Shipley Do-Nut shop is always busy but well worth the wait, which isn't that bad. The people are always nice and fast and the donuts are out of this world. We stop in there whenever we can for a great donut. The place needs to be updated a bit but overall a great experience. Can't wait to go back again for more great tastes. read more
