Shipley's, and in particular, this very store, has been my "go to doughnut shop" for over 50 years. Today that ended. They got my order wrong which had never happened before and they left out the two doughnuts I made the trip for. I can live with that. Mistakes happen. I was disappointed, but it is only a doughnut. Mind you, I didn't get what I ordered and paid for, which is their job, but I could live with it. The doughnuts themselves simply weren't good anymore. The cake doughnuts were overcooked to the point of being crunchy like a buttermilk or old fashioned, but without the flair. They were simply burned up. I didn't get any plain glazed, but the chocolate covered were off, too dense or something. I hated to cut off a store I've patronized as long as this, but three errors in a row are too many to ignore. I've continued to shop there even after their horrible remodel. They flipped the drive through window from the east to the west side of the building and created more parking spots. And then reduced the seating inside to a couple of tables. They didn't need more parking, they needed to better handle traffic backing up on Abram trying to turn in. Moving the window to the west was fine, but they should have left the entrance where it was and have folks loop around the building. Instead, they've forced the tightest turns in the world to get folks all on the west. I will continue with Shipley's, just not this flagship store. There is a brand new one on Pioneer that offers easy access. As long as they don't burn their doughnuts and get the order right, I'll switch my allegiance there. read more

These are pretty decent. I like the donuts, honestly my favorite is the classic regular glazed! They're so yummy. I'm a very picky donut eater, too. The kolaches are "good enough" but not mind blowing. If you're starving, then they're amazing lol. Other than that they're just like regular hot dogs in a bun with cheese & jalapeño pieces around it, not in the hot dog itself. The coffee was good. I asked for cream & sugar and I feel they put just enough. Not too sweet but also not bitter. The line was HUGE! I guess the drive thru is pretty popular these days, obviously. So the line does wrap around the corner onto abram street. We probably had 11 cars ahead of us when we got there but it flows smooth. Good pricing. If you are not familiar with Arlington or not familiar with Abram Street then prepare yourself for their odd set up. I'm going to help you. This Shipley is located on the intersection of Abram and Mary Street. The parking lot is miniature. There is a drive through with no menu board. If it's there I completely managed to miss it in my confusion. It's small, the parking lot is too small and the building is old for sure. Once I arrived at the order window after waiting in a slightly long line the cashier did tell me that you can go inside also. At that point I was committed to staying in my car even though for the whole donut experience I typically like to go inside and admire the donuts, kolaches, fritters, coffee and juice selections in person. I ordered 3 of the jalapeno sausage kolaches, one glazed donut and one chocolate frosted and we enjoyed the kolaches the most. I will probably try a different location next time just to avoid that cramped parking lot/drive thru situation. The cashier was really pleasant though. read more

Literally come here once a week, saw I had a coupon and was so excited to use it as I always get more than two dozen donuts. Was told they only take the paper one from the book which I did not have. The. Hoping has the address and everything and you can only redeem once. The lady was so rude to me and treated me like crap, NOWHERE is it posted they do not take mobile coupons. Called to speak to a manager and was told he was not in and they don't know when he will be in. I despise when businesses try and filter complaint calls.
