Thanks to all the great reviews here on Yelp and also a referral from one of my very good friends we decided to go with Mustard Seed as a place for my daughter to grow. She was 4 years old when she started and was very, very shy and was nervous. But it did not take her long to warm up and get comfortable with her super sweet classmates and the wonderful staff. The following year she continued onto TK and flourished into this bright intelligent little girl. The teachers at Mustard Seed did such an amazing job teaching the all the students and preparing them for Kindergarten. My daughter is currently in 2nd grade and is reading at the 6th grade level and I can't imagine her advancing to this level of education if it weren't for Mustard Seed. Fast forward - I needed child care for my youngest son as I prepared to go back to work and so thankful they have a toddler program I was able to enroll my son in at 18 months old. They love and care for all the children like it were their own and this gives us parents a peace of mind. He is now 3 1/2 years old and graduated to the preschool room where he absolutely loves to learn and play with his classmates that he calls, his best friends.

My kids always looked forward to going to school each day. This place is very family oriented and they treat our children as if they were their own. Nothing but love and compassion from mustard seed! I'm kinda sad that it had to end so abruptly but I'm hoping and praying this fall we can have a better year for 20/21 school year! I sure do give teachers a whole new level of respect, their jobs are not easy! All teachers need to have more recognition for the work that they do!

He is very prepared for TK and knows his ABCs and how to count to 30 (he's 4 years old). The teachers always listened to him and to me. They were able to assist when he was diagnosed with autism. The schedules that they offer work extremely well for a FT working parent. The school is located in a safe area and I never had any concerns. The majority of the teachers have been there for over a decade (some twice as long!) And during the graduation multi-generation families spoke about the school; that just shows you how well known and loved this school is by the community.

My son is 3, and he has not had much experience around children this age. Walking in he was adamant about not going to preschool, however once there my shy son quickly began playing, he seemed very comfortable although not his usual talkative self (like I mentioned he is painfully shy) . I loved the different play areas, the fact that not only do they have a yard but also have an upstairs gym to play when the weather is not agreeable. I have driven by this church many times but never thought that there was a preschool there until I came upon a Craigslist ad. The Teacher, Mrs. Linda is very warm, easy to talk to and explain their program thoroughly, so much so that I had very few questions since all of them were answered. There seemed to be a lot of art work from the children, various projects and the main room seemed welcoming. Lots of toys, books, and things to keep children busy. I immediately took a liking to this place. She explained in detail day to day activities, and I kept thinking "Jr will be busy throughout the day here". Walking out of the first meeting I knew this was were we were enrolling our son, I am delighted that he will get to spend some time with Mrs. Linda, and can not wait to hear stories of his first experiences at preschool. I truly wanted this school to be a place where my children could learn, grow, and feel accepted. However, I often felt that there was a lack of understanding, knowledge, and appropriate support when it came to my child's individual needs. Instead of feeling like we had a team working alongside us, I felt like I was constantly having to advocate for basic understanding and accommodations. Eventually, I felt that I had no choice but to discontinue my children's education at the school because I did not feel confident that their needs were being adequately understood or supported. What is especially frustrating is seeing resources and effort being put into things like a coffee cart and taking yoga classes while families of children with additional needs are struggling to receive the education, training, and support they deserve. There is absolutely nothing wrong with creating something nice for staff and families, but I believe the school should also prioritize investing in staff training, autism awareness, individualized support, and resources for children with special needs. Children on the spectrum should not be viewed simply as difficult or disruptive when they need additional support. They deserve educators who are knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, and willing to understand their differences. I sincerely hope St. Vincent Ferrer takes feedback from families like mine seriously and makes meaningful changes. Our children deserve to be supported, understood, and given the same opportunity to succeed as every other child.

The app was great to see pictures of what the kids were doing throughout the day and her food, naps, and nap time. A few things they could really improve on: Communication! There were a few times I had reached out regarding a billing issue and it always took a few days to get resolved. Also there was a miscommunication about my daughter's diaper bag not being brought into the daycare one time and them having no proper supplies for her, but her diaper bag was there the entire time and I had to call to make sure they were aware it was dropped off. For general questions I would email and not receive communication back or it would take days or even a phone call at certain points. Also- the app. It works great but sometimes the updates were slow. Also, expect to get the daily report hours after pick up. It's great to get the final report, but I wish it was sooner to see the nap time window and what they ate so the evening routine can be adjusted around what happened in the day. With all this being said, our first experience in daycare was a positive one. They helped myself and my husband feel comfortable dropping our daughter off and always did their best to accommodate our every need. We will miss KinderCare and would likely be staying in the program if we weren't relocating. Rose, Mary, Liz, and every other teacher my daughter interacted with- thank you for your work with her and making it such a great experience for us. Your work is not unnoticed!
