This is a family owned home child care and preschool. Jamie, the owner worked for another local preschool for 3 years, as well as at Napa Valley College Child Development Center before opening her own place. She is truly gifted when it comes to children. Her patience is never
ending!
Her facility is exceptional. She offers everything that a huge preschool offers but with very low ratios (currently 6:2). There is a large classroom that leds out into an enormous backyard with 2 sandboxes, 2 large play structures, several sensor, water and bubble tables, a large shed converted into a clubhouse, several large canvases for painting hung on the fence... the choices are endless.
I have watched a child that arrived in a diaper on his first day leave in under ware and not have another accident. Another child had no interest in learning to write his name and at the end his first day I watched his mom cry as she watched him writing it. This place is a preschoolers equivalent of Disneyland. There are so many choices, no one is ever bored. Being play based Jamie and her team recognize that play is the most important part of learning at this age.
This is not your average child care where too often children are placed in front of a TV to watch movies or children's shows. There is NO TVs, no videos; it is a place where children can unplug and have good old fashion fun. Don't want to wear shoes? No problem. Want to play in the sandbox, play dinosaurs, play with play dough, sensory tables, cars, trucks, legos, pretend diner, or do art projects? No problem. Children at this age learn best doing the activity they enjoy the most. Season art projects are always offered, but participation is optional.
Hot, healthy, homemade food is served for breakfast and lunch and two healthy snacks are offered too. All the food (good food!) is included in the tuition!!!
Children can't wait to get in the door in the morning and usually don't want to leave at the end of the day. That is the true measure of a great child care. read more
